I did mine in like 15 minutes or so. I got the factory system out in like 3 minutes. A few bolts and it's out. The K&N goes together super easy and it fits perfectly. I think this was the easiest install I ever did.
@@mikemacinnis7169 Absolutely. The sound you can hear the engine sucking in air and the performance I dropped into the 13's from the low 14's with it in the 1/4 mile.
Nice video especially you did most removal and install with one hand. The K&N filter set up look so much better than the factory. You notice a big difference?
2 question would this work for a 2022 RT and what is the part number for it? also the open are where you lifted up the gasket they dont give you anything to frame that with so its not flapping around?
Hey man, love the Durango. I also have a Durango R/T and live in Pittsburgh. I was just wondering how or where you got your brake calipers painted. I'm looking to get mine painted soon.
The problem with these supposed cold air intakes is this. You're now sucking in hot air from the engine compartment unless that open box marries up to a plenum under the hood connected to an air scoop. The original system actually intakes more cold air than the CAI does.
Dude I love it. Beautiful ride! I just got myself a DB Black R/T blacktop package about a month ago. Looks like the only real difference between ours is the wheels, and mine has the black interior with red accent stitching vs the red w/ black. I got the front windows tinted to match the back, and the K&N is the next thing I'm looking at doing. Great explanation of it all! Any other performance suggestions?
DiabloInformer the K&N is definitely a good add-on and it looks good. I have no idea what's next thinking about the SRT Durango but we'll see thanks for watching man. Don't buy that K&N just yet I might do a raffle and give away man to a subscriber for free!!!!!!
Did you disconnect the battery before doing this? I've read that if you disconnect you can lose the radio settings but also that the computer needs to reset to 'learn' the new airflow. Just wondering whether you did...
I like the vid... but:.I had this in for a day and removed. The design is horrible. It has a massive heat sucking hole in it.... that destroys the reason for using it. Also for some reason, made the entire intake whistle... it was horrible. I. Have added these for over 20 yrs.. countless cars... it was hard to see such poor design in a brand I love. I’m going to try another one... still, whistle is a issue I hear happens on some and not all... thanks for vid. It’s a good one.
Great Video. thanks for the share. Do you feel a difference with the acceleration and is there any improvement in power / torque in the real world? I have a 17 RT and looking at CAI's. Just not sure which direction to move forward. Thanks!
Is there a power difference between your Durango and your charger? Even with the intake and exhaust? I'll be getting either a charger rt or Durango rt next year and I been stuck on which one would be more torky to drive any thoughts?
+meekmoney412 they are both great but if you have a family the Durango and if you don't the charger. Chargers are little quicker and a little funner because of the lighter weight and it's cheaper to mod the charger then the Durango. As far as me having both I feel like they're different but they have the same purpose get to a location as fast and as fun as possible lol
Good look bro I saw one of ya vids random and saw u from the burgh I am too and it definitely look like u kno wat u doin as far as dodge mods go I'll definitely be a customer once I get my v8 ingot the v6 charger rallye rite now it's loaded and quick but not quick enough I need that v8 my goal is to get it modded to at least 450-500 hp
Yo it's not what you drive it's how you drive four cylinder V6 V8 whatever you're in. And thanks for subscribing I really appreciate it. You'll get what you want it just takes time sometimes and that's real s***.
No doubt bruh I feel u trust me I dun drive the sht out dis v6 I'd just rather spend money for mods on a hemi I'm a truck driver in the oil fields so u kno ima drop a big bag on sumthin crazy next march lol hell might be a 392 depends on what deals they got at the time
meekmoney412 there's lol I feel you there's a lot of deals on 392 it just depends if you want one new or used I've seen some for only $33,000 used with less than 20,000 miles.
i give this guys props for doing basically all of this with 1 hand 😂
Great job of explaining and showing step-by-step.

Did you have any trouble with water getting in the ported hood?
Great video. Got mine this week and installing this weekend on my 2017 R/T
Thanks for watching the video I’m glad I could help.
So how did it go?
Is any issues with water coming in the heat extractor vent and getting into the filter?
Nice vid sir - but no music next time!
Thanks for posting this. Very easy install.
Daniel Hunsinger thanks and welcome to the family.
Great video!! Did your kit come with the hood vent "cover", and how easy was that to install?
Cool video 👍, how is your long term reliability in overall of the engine?
Sorry Dumb question🙋🏼♀️...But what does this mod do for the car? Just tryna learn the game

What the part number k&n for hemi 5.7 ??
2 question would this work for a 2022 RT and what is the part number for it? also the open are where you lifted up the gasket they dont give you anything to frame that with so its not flapping around?
Does it come with a cover for the vent in the hood to keep water from the filter?

Aidan Thomson I did the calipers myself.
They look great!!
Great video! Thanks man!!

Did you disconnect the negative from under the seat

eightfooticeman thanks I appreciate it

Do this void your warranty?
That cap actually creates more heat and the engine is way better without it. Youll have cooler temps.

Hey boss did your check engine light turn on ? I install my yesterday an had the check engine light on
Did it turn off?

Fuaad Moosa thanks
With the exhaust and the lighter rims and the K&N it feels quicker but I don't know if it feels better with just the K&N by itself.
cool, thanks. What rims by the way? lighter rims increase power to weight ratio for sure!
Fuaad Moosa the wheels do not increase horsepower they are lighter so they spin faster than a heavy rim and you can tell
yup, exactly what i meant. less vehicle mass definitely makes the car feel lighter and respond better against the same bench mark horsepower.
Fuaad Moosa that is exactly what I was saying. Subscribe and join the

Is it worth doing the full intake versus just a k&n filter?
Mr.Mumbles and Mrs.Music = a 2 year old can? Y'all !
DODGE DURANGO 😎😘👍
Did you have to tune it after ?
No it's plug-and-play

Leave that engine cover off. Your intake manifold will stay 20 degrees cooler.
Thanks I appreciate it imma give that a try
Any other mods.?
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Why the fucking music dawg
Waste of money.
