Don't quote me on this, but if I remember correctly, there is actually a full archive of streams from 2016 to late 2022. I'm not too sure where you'd find it, maybe on some random site. Something about cats.

Even as someone who got into Love Live just last 2021, this isn't surprising to me since I had a similar experience (if not, almost the exact same) with Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin content. Especially your point at 2:13, I remember finding a specific channel dedicated to subbing Sakura Gaku content way back in 2016, and got deleted after being on YT for quite a while. Hell, even the LL! videos I used to watch that were uploaded within the last 2 years also got taken down in a short time. Though I think another reason why these kinds of content get taken down easily is bc YT nowadays is pretty strict with the rules in general.

I'm not sure if it's necessarily TH-cam doing the takedowns, typically the strikes are from the companies themselves. If youtube takes down a video for copyright, it's usually automatic. If a company takes down a video, it's actually done by someone and that's why one would get a strike for it.

If anyone is interested in preserving these streams let me know. I have some loosely gathered niconamas catalogued on my hard drive. There are missing episodes but I think I have archived a good amount.

I absolutely hate this honestly, it's just against preservation for the Love Live franchise. I fear one day some of these or other media will get lost to time. If most people don't bother trying to preserve them or don't have the means to, it leaves the job to the staff, but they sure has hell don't seem to have the intent to do so. But yeah, I'm really sad that Love Live media preservation, especially niconamas, is being sabotaged by the staff itself. Feels like Nintendo at some points lmao
The staff is really weird about archival and official releases. There's the livestreams, there's some concerts, and official events that never get rereleased in any shape or form. The takedowns make it seem like they're aware of it's existance, but they choose to not do it anything about it remove it. It's a strange way to operate, and I don't think we'll ever know why they do it.

As I see it, 80% of the problem is the language barrier, because there is tons of untranslated content in sites like B******* or N***. That's why I started learning japanese and learning a language has no down sides. What is better than learning something for entertaining purposes that is undoubtedly usefull?
Unfortunately, I feel as if most people don't really have the ability or time to learn languages. Not to mention, it's much more harder to learn a language as you grow older. It's ultimately super useful, but it takes a ton of time and patience so it's not often that people are able to translate.

This sort of behavior is common for Japanese companies, sadly, and isn't exclusive to LL. Copyright law is a mess in Japan, which is why we rarely get Super Robot Wars games, and why Chunithm in US arcades is forced offline, cutting off 90% of the songs. And Japanese companies are weirdly draconian when it comes to enforcing their copyrights, as we often see with Nintendo. Anime studios are no different. When anime first started coming out on Blu-ray in the US, Japanese studios either forced the US licensors to wait 6-12 months before releasing, or make the BD dub-only (example: Sentai's release of the Persona 4 anime) out of fear Japanese fans would buy the US version of the BD for cheaper.
But I digress. My only theory is Lantis feels they need to strike down these videos out of fear that they will lose the copyright if they don't. If true, I think the fear is unfounded because I have never heard of a company losing a copyright for that reason.
Agreed. It's a shame that company removing translated stuff that international fans would not be able to see and continue to pik their interest in the groups as I doubt these skit and announcement shows are put up for sale, let alone translated into multi-language subtitled bluray releases. I can understand the full concerts being taken down since those have bluray releases, but again would be nice if they actually did multi-language subtitle translations of the MC parts.
I didn't know that most of the translated clips I've seen since 2018 are not here anymore.
The official stream also never give a translation for the video, and people who aren't Japanese don't understand what they were talking.
So that's why people who aren't japanese is prefer the re-uploader becouse they can understand what the va are saying

Yeah it makes no sense. It‘s not like they post the old niconamas on an official channel. Most of these videos are long gone and only preserved by fans, yet they still delete them.
I made a video of a skit from the 5th live of Nijigasaki (no songs just the seiyuu talking), it got 55k views in 2 weeks and lowkey boosted my channel
Then what happened? It got mass reported and my channel was deleted : )

TL content gets removed all the time, not only for LL. I don't understand the general "how dare they" attitude towards the companies, the video content is their property and if they do not agree with reuploads, they are free to have them removed. Some part of the reasoning could be that they do not want their talent to be intentionally or unintentionally misinterpreted/misrepresented and they do not have the staff to check all translations in every video.
idk if this is related to this topic, but i think jap anime industry (or any other jap entertainment industry) is so strict abt rrleasing their contents in countries outside japan, like songs, there are so many songs that I cant play that i really like.
