- Rebel News Reporter Avi Yemini claims he was threatened by a pro-Palestinian activist directly in front of police.
The reporter was confronted and verbally threatened on video by pro-Palestinian protesters in the Melbourne CBD.
One of the men in the video is known to police and is out on bail after being accused of involvement in a violent abduction and assault.
Mr Yemini told Sky News host Sharri Markson that the police response to the situation was to “separate the groups”.
“As if there’s an equivalence," he said.

I honestly believe that Victorian bail laws are set up by agreement between the state government and judges/magistrates. The judges/magistrates are instructed to set bail at a certain amount, knowing the malefactor will - without a doubt - re offend & when they do - the bail money is forfeited in to state coffers. Debt problem solved.

OK. This is triggering a lot of emotion.Everyone seems to be focusing on the immediate, such as the police or the aggressive violent activists. The war machine behind it all, wants us to hate and fight.
As I have aged and hopefully matured in wisdom, I have learnt to have a look at what the behaviour is saying, to listen and to not react immediately. There is always a story behind the behaviour.
When I was 17 I listened to an older man, Emil Wahab. I am now 61. He told me about his family back in Palestine. He told me about how his family home was taken from his family. I listened and I felt his pain.
That same year, I was brutally attacked by a gang of young men/boys. I was told it was a Lebanese gang, migrants. I was slashed and almost died. My back was opened like a zipper on a big stuffed toy, the full length of my back and very deep.
Today I hold no malice.
I ask that we stop and listen and hear and feel.
Perhaps the angry activists are feeling like victims themselves, not heard, not received.
Perhaps we can start by not hurting others, by not killing children, women, and men.
Once I saw the bigger picture, I realised that we are more alike than different and if we band together, the dominating powers will not have power over us.
It starts with me.
