मेजर सहाब,रामबन के Transit camp में मैने भी service की लगभग 3.5yrs.सर 24yrsहो गये Retairment आये हुए, मैं वहां Sub Maj था। आप से Ramban..Banihal also के बारे में सुन कर बहुत खुशी हुई। वहीं से मैं Retairment आया। हां ये बिल्कुल सच है सर हमारे camp का खाना वास्तव में बहुत स्वादिष्ट बनता था,एक तरह से वहां की परम्परा रही है स्वादिष्ट खाने की। Thank you sir.
My uncle was a JCO in the Indian Army and I had experienced the food served in the JCO mess multiple times. The food was very good compared to the food served in college hostels.
@Player Unknown You are right but there are more levels you forget to mention. Field rations, extreme station rations. There everybody will get whatever is available. Maj. Arya already mentioned that. Yes, food quality improved much compared to early 90's Fouji's are also coming from same civil society a negligible percentage of black spots can't depict entire 3 forces.

My father was in Airforce. I eat many months in AF mess. Food was excellent. I eat many months when I was alone. Sometime chapati is little burned but cooking for 100s of people is not easy. Still I enjoyed the food and remember still and miss those days ❤

I remember Ramban transit camp where lunch was served when there was cantonment movement. My dad was posted as a Major in Kupuwara; I think it was year 87 or 88 and best times of Kashmir valley!!! Dad was posted for 3 years …. Old memories!!!

I remember I used to go to samdoo and pooh (himachal) during my vacations . Really the most beautiful and underatted place ❤️❤️🥰.And i think pooh is in kinnaur district not lahaul spiti.
My brother bringing Apples from Pooh area and there smill I still remember after almost 35 years and chilgoze from that area nd my brother told us story’s like major Saab said Chinese sit with them there and exchange things

Mainn fauj mein toh nahin ja saka, eye-sight ke kaarann, lekin school aur college mein NCC Army Wing , uskey baad Air Wing donon pass kar rakhi hain aur 15 din ke camps bahut attend kiye thhey. Mujhey bahut achha lagta thha. Bahut chotein bhi khayin, lekin phir bhi bahut khushgawar din thhey. Bahut firing ki, tank par poora din savaari ki. Hawa nikal gayi. Lekin mainn bhi dheeth thha. Agley din fir haazir. Bharat maata ki jai.

My brother served in Pooh in around 1987 coz I was only 13 years old then he served in 1811 light as Radio operator I guess

Ramban Transit Camp is one of the most beautiful camp. Stayed there many times.
