Bro’s reasoning of why the Lancaster is the best is because it’s popular
I’ll follow up on it and say: It is the quickest to go to full accuracy. (The circle goes to its smallest the faster out of any of the repeaters) Meaning it’s the most accurate. Which when mixed with its average capacity & cheap price. It’s simply the best on the category. Which explains its popularity.
The accuracy alone makes it one of the best guns in the entire game.

Id say another plus to the carbine is that it fully refills the gun when you reload rather than spending half a minute reloading 26 shots (looks at Evans Repeater)
Just turn on dead eye and automatically turn it off bc when you do that your weapon automatically gets filled up idk it works in story mode idk about online

Lancaster has a faster rate of fire and better accuracy, also the cross hair bloom shrinks the fastest out of any of them
it is a far better gun unless you like throwing bullets away and miss headhsots

By the time you can headshot or even just 2 body shots with litchfield, someone with a lancaster would have already popped your head off
The carbine repeater does have the quickest reload though. It loads all of its bullets in instantly. Not to mention it has decent stats everywhere else except ammo capacity
Yeah, but ammo capacity doesn’t really matter with the Carbine because of the reload. All repeaters have that cooldown period where you’re loading the gun, the carbine doesn’t have that.

I think this guy is actually ranking guns by total stats, and not how useful they are actually. The carbine has lower dps but it’s perfect for horde clearing and accurate enough to get headshots on players. This guy has no idea what he’s talking about
Carbine's accuracy, damage, and range kind of suck though. It just feels so much worse when I use the carbine rather than the Lancaster

The Evans is sooo much fun to use. Good RoF with high capacity lets you keep the pressure on. Just remember to reload often.

The Evan’s Repeater was always my go-to weapon in single-player. It felt more consistent than everything else I used.
Yep. In story mode it is op. Because after using all 26 rounds, you just tap dead eye for a nano second and you are back in buisness.
I’ll always have a place in my heart for the Carbine Repeater. Also it’s reload is great.

Damage means nothing if you can get headshots
If you actually use the gun and compare it to the Lancaster you can tell it’s alot worse it’s Center time takes like shotgun speed you the time to fire on target is much slower with the Lancaster the only delay with headshots is just the pretty fast cycle.

It’s because it’s actually required skill is isn’t souless trigger mashing like the Lancaster, you actually have to take time and line up shots, but when you do hit it hits hard.

Litchfield repeater has been a work horse for me, ive been grinding out blood money missions and bounties with the litchfield and the pump shotgun and they’ve been perfect together for long and short range

Honestly best combo to me is dual lemat, Litchfield, pump shotty for PvE. With express rounds the litch kills in one hit most times at decent range.
try the pump with slugs and use em both at a multitude of ranges if youre down for some shotgunning downrange(blowing heads off from afar with slugs is a second favourite past time, right behind defending the litchfield with my life)
One thing that ppl forget to mention about the ole trashy carbine repeater is that it has an incredibly fast reload! I still don’t ever use it, but still! Quick reloads

I used this repeater a long time thanks to this. You just feel like a killing Machine with this in PvE.
fast reloads don't really matter much when you can't hit a target because of the shit bloom when firing faster than 1 round/s.
Litchfield is the best repeater in the game according to red dead wiki. U just gotta learn how to use it and after that its fire
I use the litchfield all the time and it hits so damn nicely. Best part is when you use small scope to make up for the accuracy
@Sebatomic The Litchfield doesn't need a scope to be accurate. You just need to not spam fire the gun and you'll avoid the issues it has with its bloom.
It's definitely not the best repeater, but it's certainly not the worst.

If you go the gunshop in Rhodes, approach the side of the building, you’ll see something in the basement. You can then, hold the owner at gunpoint and demand access the basement. There is also a Lancaster rifle you can collect long before you encounter Micah.
Dude I always have a lancaster repeater and pump action sg on me online and story. Lancaster has a beautiful range, speed and ammo along with great damage and the pump action shotgun just sounds so amazing and badass as well as hitting enemies like a semi truck going 80 miles an hour. Paired with slug rounds the pump action can devastate in any battle because the range the slugs give. And the *ch ch* every time you equip the pump is so crisp and the noise it makes when you shoot it 😩😩

I liked the Evans better. It sounded cooler, and the winter variant was badass. It's capacity is great too.
I was all about the Lancaster until I realized carbine reloads all 7 bullets in a nice quick fashion

I use the Evans repeater because if I equipped the variant on both the Evans and Lancaster they the exact same stats except ammo capacity, that's why I use Evans repeater even though the Lancaster is more expensive than Evans is still Superior in my opinion.
I don't use repeaters at all, they are very weak, my main gun is the Bolt Action Rifle without scope and with Express ammo or High Velocity for pvp/pve. The 2nd gun is the scoped Carcano Rifle for sniping , the 3rd gun is the Pump Shotgun with slug or incendiary ammo for close range combat. Also for close quarter combat i have two Mauser pistols with express or high velocity ammo. ❤

I've played through the rdr2 story two times mainly using the carbine repeater because i actually like it, it's a decent allrounder also due to its fast reload and its (i believe) 7 bullet chamber, and i love the sound

It's the best one out of them when it comes to shooting from the hip
The bloom with litchfield is the worst , but it has great Damage and ammo capacity ,but all that doesn't matter if you cant hit your target , the Lancaster is just simply better and looks sexier
Litchfield is great for hoseback. It's more accurate than on foot and is one of the hardest hitting guns in game, only slightly below the bolt action but with more ammo and faster follow up.
Slap a scope on it and it's great all around.
finally someone points this out. I've been telling people this but people don't know what the hell they're talking about.
That being said, while the RoF on the Litchfield is higher than the bolt action, if you're firing both guns at the ideal RoF where their bloom has shrunk then the bolt fires faster.

A lancaster is amazing on mid-long range engagements, and on the clip you showed, you’re using it in shotgun range
I rarely miss with Litchfield sure it's not as fast but it's damage is solid

Revolvers:
-Worst: Double Action
-Best: Schofield (Or Navy if we’re including online weapons)
Pistols:
-Worst: Volcanic
-Best: Semi-Auto (Hella underrated)
Repeaters:
-Worst: Carbine (It’s free but it’s still ahh)
-Best: Evans (Lancaster is SO overrated. But if we’re talking style point I might actually put the Litchfield at 1.)
Shotguns:
-Worst: Sawed off (Obvi)
-Best: Maybe Pump-Action but I oughta say that the Double-Barrel is classic and enjoyable. Overall though, P-A.
Rifles:
-Worst: Carcano. They used a WORLD WAR TWO model. Would be better if they used a non 40s model smh. I usually don’t care about realism but this is just crazy.
-Best: Combat wise, Bolt-Action, but the Varmint was underrated and is useful for what rifles should be used for; hunting.
Throwables:
-Worst: Axe
-Best: I would say Lasso but that’s unfair, so excluding the lasso, probably Moonshine Molotovs.
Overall opinion:
Best weapon: Evans Repeater
Worst weapon: Would say Carcano but only due to historical inaccuracies, so I’ll go with the Carbine Repeater. I get it’s a free weapon but it sucks so bad and I’d rather blow everything on extra revolvers than get a free Carbine.

Repeaters are for medium to close range fights. I personally like the Litchfield with express rounds. It stops people while using a miniscule amount of ammo.
They're not bad, you just have to know how to use them
I pvp with the bolt. most people in rdr2 use it for hunting big game.

The lancaster is my main repeater. It has good damage, accuracy, and capacity. Keep in mind that the more it holds the longer it takes to reload in some cases
Evans is easily the best repeater.
Litchfield with split point rounds is great. I’ve always loved the look of those Henry repeaters, so that’s my go to gun

Litchfield has the highest damage 😂 and you put it below the starter weapon.
It's almost impossible to kill someone with a Litchfield unless you're a metre away from them due to terrible accuracy.

The Carbine is really good overall and the Litchfield is really strong if you can use it right. I feel like most people hate on them bc the Litchfield is a bit tricky to use and the Carbine is a starter weapon (which arguably makes it better bc that means you get it for free).

Evans is the superior weapon. 26 rounds, solid range and damage, I rarely lose gunfights with it when I attach a scope
I run around with a Lancaster, a Bolt Action and 2 Navy Revolvers that I have painted that I now call “Ebony and Ivory”

The Litchfield has supersonic rounds, which is why it has a unique sound. You can't avoid shots from a Litchfield like you can a Lancaster.

I loved the Evans and stuck with it for so long. Id run the Evans for mid range combat, Bolt Action Rifle for stopping power and distance, and then my Mausers or Lemats (sometimes one of each)
Yeah after my first play though I for sure had a list of the weapons that I would get for the next play through. I use the Lancaster repeater for everything.
My favorite is actually the Varmint Rifle, It's pinpoint Accurate and hilarious to shoot at enemies with, watching them Ragdoll all over the place in Agony. Headshots are Instant Kill for any weapon anyway so it's not like Damage is a factor
Evans repeater slams, I tested a lot of repeaters for shooting missions and the evans is a best with express bullets and some upgrades

Lancaster has some amazing accuracy without deadeye so you don't even need the extra damage if you headshot everyone. Litchfield you always need deadshot to be active but I love the THUMP is has makes it feel like a big ass gun. I don't acknowledge the others
Litchfield is not great, but I recommend getting a scope after buying it. The hardcore and free aim featured series allows you to use the scope, which is a huge advantage.
Dude I use the Litchfield with a medium scope and a long barrel as a medium range carbine. Lancaster can be used in this manner as well but if you get high-power ammo with Litchfield it make for a good medium range 1-2 gun.
While I agree with the order for the objectively best repeater for combat, I don't think you did the Litchfield or Carbine justice. Those who appreciate the Litchfield like it for it's unique sound and firing pattern, which many consider to be one of the most satisfying to shoot with. And the carbine is remarkable for it's speedy reload, loading 7 bullets with one swift movement.
I use the Litchfield cause I like how it looks and I like how I have to pause a sec between each shot , teaches me not to be greedy with my shots

I actually rank the carbine repeater above the lancaster, solely for its reload speed, the evans is my number 1 because of the ammo capacity
Lichfield, my favorite, that sound... and oneshot ordinary opponents in the body is just... mmm
For those who don’t get it, headshots are very predominant in RDO. 80%-90% of NPC kills are going to be headshots and all weapons kill with one shot to the head. As a result, accuracy and aim speed are the most important stats in the game. Damage, ROF, reload speed and magazine speed are much less important.
I used the Evans repeater straight through the whole story, never regretted it, ammo capacity means it's super deadly in dead eye
The Evan's repeater would be the absolute worst if it's reloading characteristics were portrayed realistically.
The evans is a Must when you are clearing massive waves of enemies like the 3 star bounty missions
I don't really use repeaters that much, that's why i still use the deafult one, i usually rock the Navy revolver plus sawn off shotgun in the second hand, a pump shotgun and a bolt action rifle
Litchfield when leveled up is a nasty sniper weapon you can use for close to mid range due to its damage being the highest as well as range imo it looks the most beautiful out of the repeaters
The litchfield has 10 more damage and 8 less accuracy thats a decent trade off in my opinion, plus if i dont spray and pray the acciracy isnt horrible
the first one isn't bad, it's the ace of repeaters. it keeps over all stats at a balanc rather then aiming for damage and working about aim and many other stat comparisons
litchfield seemed nice in theory but the lancaster just feels, sounds and shoots so much cleaner and smoother, not to mention the extra accuracy
honestly i prefer the litchfield because of the iron sights, nothing else, just the iron sights, the default iron sights on the litchfield i absolutely love, its kinda like an m1 garand or one of those modern repeaters you see nowadays which sometimes have those ring sights

Volcanic pistol as my side, sawed off as my second and lanchester on my back has never done me wrong
I personally like the carbin repeater, it's free, you can kill with it effectively as long as you get good hits, and otherwise the only bonuses are slightly increased states and more ammo capacity

Honestly if you’re starting out, just get a Lancaster as soon as you can it’s one of the cheapest guns you can actually be somewhat competitive with.
I love the evens I used to use Lancaster but I like the extra ammo meaning less reloads
I think the game is so immersive to the point to where it’s literally your own preference. I prefer the cattlemen and with the right load it’s pretty decent

It would make more sense if they gives you the Spencer/Repeater Carbines first, the have the Henry 1860/Litchfield repeater be a secondary unlock at, like 200, then the Lancaster's, then that 26 rounds repeater last.

I personally love the lichtfield purely because it feels so beefy. It feels more powerful than the other repeaters
The litcifield rifle is mostly the work of cowboys who are now masters of this game, you can compare it to cigar smokers. But lancaster is more of a weapon used by people who I can call rookies, that is, people who have reached the level of a hundred. They do not know how to shoot in the head, so they benefit from the high damage stat of lancaster
Carbine has the most damage, evens has the most ammo, lancaster has the best accuracy, Litchfield has a kinda balance.

The Litch with PIB fixes accuracy , so it does the most damage. Lancaster is the most balanced, but Evans holds way more bullets, but sounds the best with head phones.
