    Video is correct. You CAN increase lean muscle mass while cutting up. I do it all the time.

    If taking this test, do it fasted early in the day before eating or drinking anything for the most accurate reading. Its fairly useful to track your rough progress

      Exactly right. The best way to take any bodyfat or progress measurement for consistency is fasted in the morning after using the bathroom. It's not 100% accurate but like you said useful for tracking rough estimates

    how is the percentage for SMM found? even though 129.6 lbs, how does the sheet know that is around 153%. How much muscle mass is healthy? Is it a per weight thing?

      It is a calculation based on the square of your height. To find the lower and upper normal ranges for SMM (in kg) for males multiply you height squared by 9.5 and 11.5 respectively. e.g. if you were 175 cm tall, the lower normal range for SMM would be 9.5 x (1.75 x1.75) = 29kg, upper would be 11.5 x (1.75 x 1.75) = 35.2 kg
      These ranges are 90% and 110% so to get to 153% would be a straight forward calculation.

      hello! where do you get the 1.75 from?

    • @nathank16
      @nathank16 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      and why 153%? where did you get that number from as well

      Hi Nathan 153% is the length of the SMM bar on the scale above it. The machine works out how much muscle is 100% based on your height, then works out the % value based on your recorded results, thus the displayed bar length.

      I was just using 175 cm as an example height. The height squared formula is in metres so 175 cm is 1.75m
