Hello Kevin and Rachel Your new pig looks great! It can be hard for people to understand living and caring about an animal with the end purpose being to harvest and freeze them. They are being loved, well fed, cared for, talked to every day. Their lives will be honored. They will nurture the family. Respecting and caring for the animals we eventually eat. It’s what homesteaders and farmers have done for a very long time. Blessings ❤ ~Linda
0:38 -- Only Smee can relax like the true cat that he is! (Though I suspect that, the way Smee follows Kevin around, he's really a dog in a cat wrapper, LOL!)
That pig is going to live its best life for the next 30 days. The concern and care Kevin and family take to make sure the pig has access to fresh water, food that it likes, scratching her bellyl....Wow! Same for all their animals. Thank you guys for putting out this this content and letting us into this part of your lives. My wife and I always look forward to the next episode.
Well said Rachael. I will never understand how some people don't understand that small farms/farmers raising their own meats is way more humane than big ranches. I'm not saying big ranches don't care for their animals but when animals are mass produced there can't be time to show love and compassion as a small operation can. And Kevin any chicken would be proud to call the new chicken house a home. You definitely do need to build some shelves for stuff.😊
Rachel, you did a very eloquent job explaining the realities of farming to the viewers who have lived their lives disconnected from the source of their food. So many people have become distant from nature, the cycles of life and death, that are an integral part of raising animals and food.
Life on the farm is so the farmer can supply food for the family plus being able to have animals to sell or milk or other things. I think you got a good looking pig for your freezer and she will give you a lot of meat ❤❤❤❤
As a certain lady would say, 'it's farm life people!' Farmers raise all kinds of animals for meat to feed their families; cows, pigs, chickens. They don't keep em all for pets. It's just life on the farm.
Ok no worries Kevin I adore you, but I get so happy and excited when Rachel is on the videos 😊 She's so pretty and is always happy. Now we had a ranch not a farm ( there is a difference) We raised APHA, AQHA horses. Now we did have a few of everything, mini pigs, chickens, goats, sheep etc. But ours were only pets. Now saying that.....I have no problem with folks who raise their livestock for food. And I will admit there's nothing better than fresh home grown meat and what not, especially knowing there's no chemicals in them. I love ya'lls videos and seeing all your critters. Thanks for another great video, and thanks for joining us Rachel, it was so nice seeing your beautiful smile. Cora you stay home now, ya hear?!?! Chicken coop looks great 😊. Love and God Bless you all at HHF 💜 ✝️ grandma Jennifer in AZ.
@@donnahughes4652Exactly. Just the grocery store Lol. But how does it get to the grocery store and where did it come from! Teaching our son when he was you. Thank goodness, my sister and her hubby raised cows for beef! Our son learnt!
I finally got all three lots all raked up before the no word returns back and one of the nieghbor across your old house in Lewiston Maine is going to have me work on his yard and paying me and he gave me awesome comment on how amazing hard work I do on raking 2:51
Hi Rachel Kevin your wife is beautiful you are blessed.its so nice seeing her she's so great with the animals God's blessings to you and your family ❤️🙏. I'm an 75 year old Great Grandmother.lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂my husband and i just went for our gun safety course so we can go hunting I'm metis.
Hi Rachel and Mevin, God provides animals for people to raise for food. And He wants people to take good care of these animals. I appaud Your family for being good to all of your animals, those you raise for food, To Sell helthy goats, and have chickensxfir eggs and some for food. In all cases you take good care of them. Well done👍🙏♥️
Big Chungys is a cutie she's an Oreo, too, lol. I am a meat eater and I know animals have to be butchered to get that meat but I don't think I could raise one then have it butchered. I'd get to attached to it. Thank y'all for sharing this part of your lives with us it was a pleasure. Gods blessings to you all !!!
I couldn't name something i was going to eat later. Soon as it's named it becomes a pet. However it's props to you guys for that. And it's wonderful you treat her with the best intentions. It's better than treating an animal like nothing just to slaughter them. She just loved the shower and mini mud bath ❤
Have you all in my thoughts and prayers and Dutch and family and Rachel your and Kevin your Dad and all the family nearby. Those storms look very bad so try to get the animals in to a safe place and take cover if you have any warnings. May God keep you all safe and Blessed. Hugs and Love. Grammie Suzie ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Years ago one of our Dobermans kept jumping the fence and running all over the neighborhood. We finally strung an electric fence wire across the top of the fence, and that did the trick. First time she reared up on the fence and it bit her on the nose was all it took to stop her from jumping over the fence anymore! After about a week, we didn't ever turn the electic fence on anymore. She learned her lesson and never wanted that mean fence to bite her again! Love the new pig. She has been well cared for looks like. I see lots of bacon and pork chops there!😘🥓
Let's have it Kevin LOVES All these Animals!! 😂 Hilarious with them and don't miss much😊 All the rest Is (this Calif woman sees & can't have=> Is Homesteading
Hi Kevin and Rachel I love the new addition to the farm. She is loving the mud. My gran used to have pigs and used to live the pigletsxwhen the piglets were nursing off the mom. They were absolutely gorgeous and I wanted to take one home. But they aren’t suitable for pets in the house but then had a dog. The dog never left my side. He was so adorable All the best and have a nice week. See you in the next one x
Hello Kevin and Rachel i love when you to work together ❤️ i love you new pig she beautiful i love all the beautiful babies you are such wonderful parents love you guys be safe out there 😅❤❤
Raising it yourself you don't have to worry about recalls at the grocery stores all the time either. I grew up on a homestead and always knew to not get to attached because they were for food in our bellies. Hopefully you get rain she will have a blast and if there are any leaks pigs are great to seal them up.
Big Chungess (?) is a pretty hog. She looks like she'd make some really good country ham. Rachel you are looking healthy. I hope you're loosing weight on purpose. You still have a beautiful smile 😊 The coop looks great! 👍 I bet it's the nicest one around. Have a wonderful week 😊 Blessings, Love & Hugs 🙏🙏🌹 Love 🌻 from Apex NC 💜
Thank you Rachel for the wonderful explanation of raising animals on a farm and giving those animals the love, respect and care to them. My parents were farmers and I was also raised with that understanding and the appreciation to the farmers that raise our food. Wonderful video. ❤❤
Hiya Kevin n Rachel..hope you are ok..these are servere storms..hope you got your animals to safety..n got your vehicles put up..been watching the tornadoes touch down..this is terrible..your n my thoughts n prayers ..sending prayers to everyone in it's path .stay safe
Big Chungis is a very pretty pig with nice coloring. She's a nice addition to your farm. When I was a kid, I would spend the summers with my grandparents and aunt and uncle on their farms. Sometimes they had pigs and they were the sweetest and smartest animals on the farm. They even knew their names.
Chungess is such a beautiful and seems like such a sweet pig. She really enjoyed the muddy bath you made for her. I am glad that Cora does return from her adventures. Mojo loves and protects his chickens. He just doesn't want to say it out loud doesn't. Love your new pigs. Love and prayers to you all . ❤🐕
Big Chunga is a pretty pig and seems to have a very sweet disposition. I hope you can find a way to keep Kora inside the fence. The goats and everyone are looking good. The chicken coop is going to be much safer and nicer for them. I hope you can move them in soon. Nice job Kevin and Rachel. Take care. ❤❤❤❤
So we had a small family dairy farm... Only 117 acres. We kept a steer calf to fill our freezer with beef. 2 of my favorite ones were Storm and Charlie. As big as they were, they were so gentle. We could sit on them when they were laying down, and we'd pet them. Sometimes, Charlie would stand up with us on him and not throw us. I was just a teenager but always knew where they'd end up. Too many people don't know where their food comes from. We loved all of them. ❤
I love the pig. She is beautiful. The chicken coop needs a name. You should call it Rachel's Coop. 😄I love all your animals. I love you guys to pieces. ❤❤❤
Rachel, I have to say you are looking slimmer every time I see you. Hopefully you are doing that on purpose. You look great. It's "happier than a pig in slop."
Beautiful pig I can’t believe she didn’t have anything to do with that tomato. I thought you were going to show a clip of the dogs going crazy lol. I can’t wait to see the chickens in the new chicken house. God bless
Feed your pig EGGS! I promise you won’t regret it! Growing up on an egg laying ranch that raised multiple animals including many pigs, we gave our pigs the checks and broken eggs and the meat was PHENOMENAL
My uncle in Alabama raised hogs to butcher & trade to neighbors. My family was visiting him when I was young. I’d never seen one in real life so I asked to go outside to look at them. They came out later to find me chasing them around the pin. I got in trouble for running all their weight off costing him money. Ended up spending several summers visiting him. What an experience for a city boy.
Thanks for sharing your farm animals with us. Anyone who is not vegan should agree that your farm is a good place for animals to spend the last month of their lives. The same can not be said about "factory farms".
Rachael and Kevin, Kevin you need to listen to your wife, remember if the wife is not happy, no one is happy. Congratulations on your new pig. Good luck with Kora and the chicken coop, I agree with your wife and the shelves. 🐖🐖🐖👍👍⛈⛈⛈❤❤❤.
