Hey Ian, I'm so grateful to you. Without any experience, I watched your videos and pulled down my 3000gt, replace valves, seals, water pump, timing belt etc. Put everything back together and today I start my engine, it's running smoothly. Thanks much
Forsure man ! That's sweet
@@huracanian3051 im about to do this to mine replacing head gasket, water punp timing belt, and replacing seals if you dont mind me asking what website you went to
and what parts you got and if they have held up while you have had them
I'm so happy for you! Can't wait to see that beast running! All that hard work will reward you in the end my friend.
Hope so lol thanls bud
Firstly, Happy new year and all the very best to you. Your videos have brought me this far and I should crank my engine by tomorrow. Once again thanks much.
U too man and that's awsome dude
lookin' good! can't wait to see it on the road
Thanks ... Yea me too
Nice work!
learned quite a bit from yhis video. thanks
🤙 don't play with the flywheel lol
excellent
Happy new year brother man
Me too man
I used pipe sealant on my oil plugs during my rebuild. The front plug had some corroded threads. Needless to say it leaked like crazy after I got it all back together. I was able to run a 3/8 pipe tap in hole with motor in car. Put grease on tap to catch shavings and got about 1/2 turn on it. Used loctite sealant and all is well now. It was not ideal for sure.
Yea ... I should have enough red RTV on there to seal it up
Almost there bud
😏🤙
Ian, I see that your running the oem Hidraulic tensioner. Would you trust it or is it better to use a solid one ?
Buen día. Que transmisiones le quedan a ese motor
I have seen the devisation of a broken off fly wheel. It's not pretty. Thats some real stuff there. On my race car I used some Trans plate and loops around the drive shift. Just because the track we raced at required it.
Yea man the one part u don't want to play with
nice yo
🤙
Is there a back video where you talk about how you got this car and why you love it so much?
O shit yea a few but I cant remember which one it is lol
What clutch disc, plate, and flywheel did you use?
I did a video on it. I used spec stage 2
I’ve been looking at one of these as my first project car, I don’t know if I’m in for a good or bad time lol
VR4 or SL? If VR4 then just know they are a bitch to work on sometimes depending on what your doing. If an SL, then it shouldn’t be too bad considering you have a little more bay room with an SL
What all dose it need what all u want to do to it ?
Owner says it needs a new windshield but the crack is tiny and in the corner. For the first year or so I just want it to run reliably and to convert the exterior to look like a 99. Then after I have the car for a while (and hopefully doesn’t blow up) I’m looking at doing some performance mods and a turbo upgrade to maybe 650AWHP+ but that’s end goal so those numbers could change

Is that a brand new transmission? if so where’d you get it from and what transmission is it?
Nope ... Not only is it not new it's junk lol I need to rebuild it
Did that clutch even last a year since you didn’t turn that fly wheel with those nasty grooves in it?
What ? It's all new .. brand new flywheel clutch pressure plate all from spec
I thought this was the old video... you can't feel those with your nail or i would have had it turned it's just coloration from that copper clutch material or whatever I asked a couple people about it
What bolts did you use
ARP-156-2801 there exactly one thread shoulder Don't Panic rather go shorter than too long .. U want to make sure that bolt doesn't bottom out in the crank before it gets the flywheel tight
No starter plate?
Yea I know .... Mine broke during disassembly. I got a new one and I still forgot to put it back on.... But I talked about it in other videos. I have a plan on making a flat bottom for better aerodynamics on the track so it doesn't really matter. I guess I don't know lol
Is this thing gonna be running next vid?
No probably not
@@huracanian3051 oh okay
@@og5782 lolol
You forgot the starter plate that sits behind the flywheel.
Lol really
@@huracanian3051 , from past experience with building these engines, it may interfere with transmission and starter clearances but good Job, looking good 👍
Not to mention keeping debris and weather out of bell housing for longevity and performance of the clutch, when's the next video? God bless
@@nv8176 iv talked about y I'm not worried about that Shield a few times ...... I'm going to make a flat bottom on the car I'm going to box everything in with aluminum or maybe even carbon
