Absolute legend! The use of car jack and striking with the hammer was exactly what was needed.

Mate, I just want to say thanks for these properly helpful tips! My local tyre garage had no idea so I decided to apply these tips at home with 2 stuck locking nuts and a very worn locking nut key. It took some tries and some sweating, but managed to get both out intact. Now off to ebay to buy some normal bolts, not dealing with this BS again. Cheers!

Excellent video thank you. I suspect it is not brass but plated steel that is brass coloured. Brass is quite soft and I can't imagine it standing up to that beating or torque.

Wow, cheers for this. Had my kit a while and always struggle with the mega light ones, end up grinding the collars off and sticking a socket over the top. Will try this next time!

Driving a few hundred meters with the brakes on heats the hub really hot and makes it MUCH easier to loosen any nut - knocks a tiny bit of life off the pads but a very sweet trick to try!

Also the last part works well because of the shocking it’s getting that helps free the pressure on the threads 👍🏼

Wheel locks come in a lot of flavors, but the most common one installed by dealers and tire shops is dead easy (and often over-torqued).
Get a 20mm socket (very important, and somewhat difficult to procure) and hammer it onto the lock. Then use your impact tool (it has to be a tool with decent speed - a breaker bar won't work) to spin that socket until the heat expands the metal of the socket and the lock, essentially welding them together. I've never had this fail on those I could get a 20mm onto.
OFC, it takes a vice and a LOT of hammering to knock that lock out of your 20mm... generally I just give the pieces to the vehicle owner or trash them.

Superb video. Anyone near Poole: Use this guy on your car. Silly question: my favourite tyre fitting shop (after a change of staff) now wrecks lockers with an impact driver. How do I find a good fitter? Go for local mobile? Interested at what stage you might try the impact driver on the hammered on dynomec. Wrecking bar and Jack interesting - wondered if better with the bar more horizontal so the jack counteracts any twist. Alternative sit on the floor and put a boot on the socket if you can get a foot in there. Just got to bring myself to abusing the wrecking bar. . . My normal technique for doing it properly is knee pads on, one knee on ground and the other pressed into head of the torque wrench to keep it square on. Would be interesting to see how you do it properly (without a lift). Opinion on best replacement lockers useful, or are they just a dumb idea? I'm also confused why Mazda seem to specify a big range of torque in the handbook - never seen that before. I tend to err a bit on low side on Ford's and VX specs then recheck after shake down drives (short then long drives) OTT but avoids expensive damage.

Thanks for this! Personally I never use an impact when putting on LOCKING wheel nuts, but as said, there are those that do lol

Hi. I wonder how long such one tip is enough, i.e. whether I will twist more such protections. I am writing from the translator;)
