Love this comparison video! My current go-to for most shades is the ABH eye primer. A little goes a long way (I have two sample sizes that will prob last me the rest of my life, lol), and I like how the not-quite-pure white color blanks out the lid and makes the colors you put on top show true. It also doesn't stay sticky, so I don't have to worry about putting a powder on top before I go in with eyeshadow. But my go-to for more textured shades - or ones that I know tend to have fallout - is def the Nyx glitter primer! Another where you just need the eeeensiest bit!
I haven’t tried the ABH one but a lot of my former coworkers at Sephora really loved it! I will have to try it sometime! The nyx glitter primer seems pretty universal!
I love eyeshadow primers and I have several favorites depending am I using pressed pigments or eyeshadow and if so, what eyeshadow formula 😅😂 Under shimmers I use creaseproof cream eyeshadow or Plouise shimmer primers if I want my eye lids to have extra sparkles (I think these are being discontinued tho 😭) I use glitter and pigment primers only with loose and flaky formulas. Now I'm interested to try PMG primer 🤪💓
Lol I think perhaps you should make a video about eye primers! 😂 you have much more investment than I do in them! I love that tho because eye primer is such a whatever part of the process to me and you have such a passion for it! I would be curious what you thought if you did try the Pat McGrath one!
I use elf putty eye primer, it came dried up but still works 🤷🏽. Never used an eye primer before but i do notice a difference. And i live in a really hot super humid city.
Hiya! Novice here. I use the Ilia eye primer (bc it was given to me 😂). I don’t have much to compare it to, but I really like it. I’m not super oily, but deffo struggle when it’s too hot (like 80+…). I feel like it helps prevent creasing (especially with powder shadows) and I like that it brightens the inner corner enough that I feel like I don’t have to use additional highlight on a regular day. Thanks for your content!! Muah!
We love hearing from all makeup lovers, no matter the experience level! I'm happy that the first primer you got worked out for you! I'll be curious what you may think of the next primer you try! Also, that isn't to say that you need more than one primer, one is perfect if it works! Thank you for watching! xxx
I love the Fenty eye primer for mattes and I use the nyx glitter glue for shimmers. I actually don't have the problem you have putting mattes on top of the nyx. Maybe because I pat it out?
I’ve gotten much better with the nyx glitter primer with practice but I found it pretty difficult to use when I first got it. I think once you know how much to apply it works much better but I still find that mattes drag on it if I need to do something after shimmer.
I have the fenty eye primer and the Intensifies wand. Unfortunately the fenty one does sometimes crease. If I powder it it's alright though, but inconsistent on my oily lids. I'm definitely more interested in the heir atelier primer after watching the video since its performance with mattes and satins seem solid. I think I'd enjoy it after I finish the one I have as those are the types of shadows I use most often. I use the PMG Intensifies wand mostly for inner corner highlight and glitter toppers it does help a bit with glitter fallout and shine, but the longevity is just alright. Thanks for doing a deep dive on eye primers they can truly make or break the look especially for us oily lidded people!
The heir atelier one made me really understand what an eyeshadow primer should behave like. And I feel very similar about intensifeyes to you. It’s like alright and it does ok but idk that it has changed the game in the way it was sold to us lol
I also have rediculously oily lids and have been using the Nars primer for a few years now, and don't really have any interest in trying anything else. The white one prightens the lids to help colours pop and the pigmented one evens out the tone of my lids. Uou dony have to use a lot, not cakey, shadow last all day.... It's perfect imo. Someone said the milani primer is a good dupe but i don't agree. Too much silicone so it doesn't provide the same grip. I also use the nyx glitter glue when I have a bunch of layers going and my glitters don't want to stick.
Oooh I’m so early for once! Saving this video as a treat for later today:)
❤️
Love the MAC Paint Pot! I also use that and powder over it before applying my eyeshadows. Such a game changer!
Thanks for your video. It helped me decide to try the atelier eye primer.

@@hautemesstom I know I'm weird with this obsession 🤣🤣🤣 If I ever get to try that PMG primer I will let you know my thoughts on it 😂

I’m sorry it came dried up but happy you still get use out of it!
I can't believe you don't have any peach blush with this glossy summer look on your eyes! A crime I say!
PUT ME IN JAIL THEN 🤣

@@hautemesstom when I first started I used WAYYY too much. It looked awful and felt so weird to have my eyelid sticking to itself 😅
I use Nars smudge proof eyeshadow base for mattes & Nyx glitter glue for shimmers. 😊 I have hooded eyelids so eyeshadows don’t stay on well for long.

Noted about the Milani primer! I’ll have to try the nars one at some point!
