If you love vintage desserts, this video is for you! Today I'm reviewing 250 Luscious Refrigerator Desserts. This booklet was published in 1951 and was part of The Encyclopedia of Cooking in 24 Volumes from the Culinary Arts Institute. I'm also preparing one of the many refrigerator desserts in this book - Mocha Marlow.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    MOCHA MARLOW
    1 ounce semisweet chocolate
    16 marshmallows, quartered
    1 cup strong coffee
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 cup heavy cream, whipped
    1/3 cup crushed nuts (optional)
Melt chocolate over double boiler. Add quartered marshmallows, coffee, and salt. Heat, folding over and over until marshmallows are half melted. Remove from heat and continue folding until mixture is smooth and spongy. Cool. Add whipped cream and nuts. Pour into tray and freeze until firm, stirring once when half frozen. Serves 6.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm cooking through history and you're invited! Follow along with me as I prepare a recipe from one of my many vintage cookbooks. Will the results be delicious, or disastrous? There's only one way to find out. Thanks for checking out my midcentury cooking video and joining me in my vintage cooking corner.

2 years later - I went to eBay and bought this book, the 1950 edition also, because I have to see those recipes. Another book that came on my feed there was the Pillsbury Big Book of Easy Baking with Refrigerator Dough 2014 . I bought that one too because one of the items on the cover was too intriguing. I enjoyed this presentation and another peek at very darling Miss Dottie. I'm sure she is having a wonderful time in Heaven! Probably sniffing the Angels feet, finding they smell like vanilla wafers.💞

I love the Culinary Arts Institute of America cookbooks!
The recipes are great. I have a complete set from the 1940’s, 1950’s (two different sets - there is a second set to the one you have), and some of the books from the 1970’s-1980’s. I grew up with some of the books from the early 1970’s. The most memorable one was a pumpkin soup recipe, which earned me first prize in a recipe contest at my work decades later. Everyone loves it.

LOL #RefrigeratorCakeGirlSummer, let's make it a thing! 😆 That encyclopedia is MASSIVE! So cool! Bahahaha ice cream turkeys 😂 Sounds like a great fall treat lol! Love your intros! And that apron and bowls!! Totally agree on the small bags of marshmallows! I'll use maybe 10 marshmallows, don't need 600 lol. I'm liking the new camera angles! 🤗 Bahaha, the chocolate river, that always looked so gross to me 😂 Looks like they tried making hot chocolate with water! Interesting recipe, I gotta try this! Vintage recipes are so interesting, like a lot of them are overly simplified to fit in a small space on the page (without pictures lol) and I feel like a lot of the time, you're left guessing on how to do something. Love your videos! Congrats on hitting 100!!! 🎉🎉🎉

🤍⛅️🩷🌠⚪️ Hi Anna 🤚 Apparently , I recently recreated Mocha & Strawberry Blonde Marlows , Veganized. Inspired by Everlasting Syllabubs " by Tasting Historys video . Questing for different than Ice Cream.
So , 4 Ice cremes all at once ( in mini deli plastic tubs ) . Not really eating Ice Cream " anymore. Created in a Hotel kitchenette , just a mini Fridge I then had available.
I incognito write on a Military forum as a Civilian , ... A Souldier said He was trying to do as a Vegan diet , however , having
Ice Cream hankering issues' though to get over , and I posted some of My foodblog Ice Creme making experience & picture ... Strawberry ( Strawberry flavor , Pink , Vanilla with Marshmallows ) & Mocha Marlows * + ... Chocolate & dark Chocalate chunks , Marshmallows with Bourbon ...
( Husband from Kentucky . I notice the Graphic design of the Cookbooks too , mostly because of Him. As Creative Director , A.D. G.D. Photographer too , Me too Artist ) digress.
... Vanilla ; a Peanut Butter & Concord Grape Ice Creme ' one ; and a Banana Chunky Monkey one ( ?? or was a Cherry Garcia , I forgot , I have to look It up ) I wanted to make also a
50 | 50 Vanilla & Orange one , and also an Ambrosia one.
All Vegan , Easy , No ice cream maker required , No excuse , Gourmet quality , the value ,
    the Skys the Limit ~
The dolce curriccular vitae ~ Delicious! I highly recommend.
    🤍🩷
: )))))))) Basically within 2.5 hours , with two churns' , just need a freezer to make Ice Creme
    🤍🩷💖
