Not having pictures for some dishes is such a letdown for any themed cookbook, honestly. I understand it's not the biggest deal, but visualizing food before it's made it so important, not only so you can ensure it's being done correctly from an appearance/plating perspective, but also because it's what makes the cookbook readable when you're not actively cooking imo.
Can confirm: truffle salt may be rather expensive, but it legit does magical things to whatever savory dish you put it on. In college I pretty much never ate anything more expensive than boxed mac and cheese, instant ramen, and frozen food- but truffle salt was one of those things that I was wiling to splurge a little on to make cheap dinners like those taste wayyyy better 😭❤️
@@EraidFreefire the texture is so rubbery... like i can eat mushrooms only if im extremely hungry. the burger looked good regardless and i would have eaten it even with mushrooms

To help with an uneven cake, what you can do instead of cutting the top to make it more even is soak a teatowel until it's completely drenched. Then wring out as much water as you can and then wrap it around the cake before you put into the oven to bake. For some magical reason, the cake always rises evenly :)
I actually know the reason for this! This moist towel acts the same way as a water bath would - the homogenous mixture of water keeps everything at the same temperature as it cooks. Because uneven rising is caused by the outsides of the cake cooking into place before the cake is fully risen, by slowing down the cooking of the outsides by reducing their temperature, you get an evenly risen cake, though it may require a slightly longer cook time.
I like how the greens in the burgers interact with the green screen and you can see the minecraft sky through them. Anyway I really like your videos, I hope you will release more soon
The burgers were amazing! The mushrooms and beef complement each other. I also made the cake, but the fondant was a bit chewy, so I would just recommend just using regular frosting and then smooth it out.
Waking up to these is always delightful man. I love to cook and you make these cookbooks way more approachable and honestly legitimize them. From afar most can look definitely not worth it and unfortunately some definitely aren't. Having seen it in use though I'd definitely think about purchasing it now. Here's hoping some of these companies pick you up for a sponsored review or consult you to make some finalized changes to their books cause you make some good points. Hilariously enough I just recently took a dive back into Minecraft so this video was bomb, love it. ❤️
My son kept brining this home from school library and honestly the recipes I tried turned out really good. Their chocolate chip cookie recipe is now my go to recipe 😂
There is this one thing that i like about the suspicious stew . It looks beautiful , colourful , it makes the stew worth eating without getting bored about it . For me the stew looks like a good breakfast to start your day with . Overall it was beautifully executed .
Every stew my mom makes is a suspicious stew because nobody knows what she pulled out of the freezer, we only know that it was good enough to be put into the freezer
I have no idea if it's the same one, but I remember I had fun making some mashmallow ghasts from a minecraft cookbook once!! I couldn't keep my hands off them they were so good
As a baker you did pretty good on the cake! Esp if it was maybe your first time making one. Definitely need some more practice!! Like cutting into the cake a square about the same as the uncut version just smaller to keep everything in, add the strawberry puree (definitely needed more but it's ok!) then good coat of buttercream on top. The reason it was moving around was the puree i would recommend jam next time since it's more thick and sticks better but it was def not the shape! (Thought good trim and crumb coat next time will help with the lack of frosting as well) Also a good simple sugar syrup would of made it a really moist delicious bite. Poking holes and pouring in some syrup would help.
Always hyped when seeing a new upload. Every video is like food for the soul. But man, even one of those slices of cake must feel so HEAVY with all that American butter cream and the fondant! :O
some little cake tips: using simple syrup on your cakes can make them more moist in the long run, if you make a cake hours or a day beforehand. also if you refrigerate the assembled cake before piping icing over it and putting on fondant, it will become much easier and it wont slide around as much. besides that you're right, it might have been better to level the cakes before assembly, but it still looked great and as most people do with baking hide the ugly spots xD
Ahhhh!! This is so exciting! I’ve been playing Minecraft for years now, and it’s been my favorite game ever since! And combine that with your relaxing, but funny video? Score!! Keep doing what you’re doing, you just made my whole day! :) 💖

Fun fact, garlic and onions are both kinds of allium, and an allium flower is one of the flowers that can be used to make suspicious stew in-game. Of course, you can also make it with any flower in-game, even tulips, but I don't recommend doing that IRL.
Thank YOU Tara for your fantastic work on the cookbook. Your Lomo Saltado recipe from the Tomb Raider cookbook is one of the best recipes I've come across so far and is my wife's favorite! Can't wait to see what you come up with next
8:21 remember to crumb coat everyone. It doesn’t have to look pretty, but ice the cake with a bit of icing to “crumb coat”. Then you can come back a bit later after the cake has sat in the fridge for about half an hour, and you can actually ice it. This gives you a better surface, keeps crumbs glued down, and just makes it easier and prettier.
I loved the unofficial cookbook, but i think i'll soon get myself the official one! Do they have the drink section or "Potion" section the first book one had? Also, that Burger would go really good with some jammy onions in my opinion. But onions are like a cheat Code for Burgers in my opinion xD They can make many things better.
I just realised by grabbing my cookbook that i had an unofficial cookbook from a different actor. But that it still had a drink section is kinda amazing. Amazing how different people can have similar ideas. Potions are important after all!
For your 100,000 subscriber special, you should do a behind the scenes video! How do you set up and edit your green screen shots? Do you cook all of the food at once so it's ready at the same time for the end, or does it sit out and get cold? I'd love to peek at your process!
I will have a collection of every gaming cooking book that you test one day, it's my dream! And also when you gave the first bite to the mooshroom burger your camera took the arugula as the green screen so you took a bite out of minecraft itself 😂
1 - I'm totally getting that cookbook now! Thank you for making and sharing this video. :) 2 - If you make the cake again? You could also poke holes in the cake while it's still warm and let it soak up the puree in both layers as it cools before frosting it. ;)

I think Mooshroom Burgers would look amazing with a red bun and white sesame, and/or a little red mushroom pick or cake topper to really sell it. Videogame food should be _evocative._ Like, you could've just made the chicken curry from TotK but you chose the Dark Curry, and for obvious reasons. Without that unique feel to it, you're just making food that no one would associate with a videogame without being explicitly told. When I think of Mooshrooms, I don't really think of ground beef and portobello, I think of the magical red colors on that whacky island. I should make a burger like that one day. Issue is I can't stomach mushrooms.
for us when we made the suspicious stew we used lentils at first but didnt quite like the texture i would recommend using barley instead! they soak up the flavor far better too
