Get answers to common packaging questions when fulfilling a government contract. Ensure that the unit, intermediate, and exterior containers are all correct prior to shipment.
Super kind words. Really appreciate it. Dedicating more time creating this channel to see how we can help. If you got a list of things you need, feel free to reach out and I can add to the list of future videos. Here to serve!
Another great video...If you have an intermediate container that weighs 40pounds and since your exterior container wont exceed 59pounds, do you just place the one intermediate container in the one exterior box and ship that out? Or can you ship out the intermediate container on its own?
Thank you for your comment! At that point, I would split the intermediate container into several boxes, ensuring none exceed 40 pounds. It's about finding the "just right" balance-through experience, you'll learn what works best for your items. Factors include box requirements, cost (more boxes equal more cost), risk of breakage. Hopefully that helps.
I won a bid the other day but now it seems confusing. Can you figure this one out. Clin quantity 48 Clin Unit EA Each Line Item 48 QUP 050 50 Qty per unit container Place 50 Items in its own container when shipping 48/50 items (What would this be?) or is this the correct way?
Easy peasy! If the CLIN has a QTY of 48 and the packing says to place 50 in a bag (QUP050)... just place the 48 in a bag. Make sure the label says 048 EA. If you reach out to us, we can assist with guiding you through that process. Check out our website and we will connect.
@@mendsourcing So the bottomline is that I only need one bag total. Because I'm thinking that if the QUP is 50 and if the Clin was 50...I would only need 1 bag for this order. I guess my confusion is what do I do with the other two bolts. Do I just place them in another bag and ship them out. Thanks in advance.
Great video! Question: On the contract with 65 unit containers, why 4 intermediate boxes (3 boxes with 20 units each and 1 box with 5 units) instead of 3 intermediate boxes (2 boxes with 20 units and 1 box with 25 units)?
Its a personal preference. We are big on keeping systems in place and having the end user have the best experience. While we could break it up differently, I prefer lighter intermediate boxes as long as they can fit in the least amount of exterior boxes without going over 59 pounds. Having one box of 25 pounds, personally, is too much - but it still fits within government requirements. Personal preference!
Yes. There may be. So if that is the case... so let's say you need to pack 196. We would put 100 in one intermediate box and 96 in the other. The outside label of each of those intermediate boxes would show 100 EA and 096 EA respectively.
This was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you for this. This is the best explanation I've come across.
When we started out, no one provided this information. I hated that! Full transparency here... more to come!

@@mendsourcing Much Appreciated!
Can you make a video showing what to do if the QUP is more than the CLIN

Will it ever be any uneven amout left to put in a bag that doesn’t match the unit of measure?
