This is by far the best, most clear, explanation & demonstration regarding the anatomy and function of the knee joint that I have ever seen! Thank you so much!
As someone experiencing a knee injury currently (with little prior knowledge of the knee/anatomy in general), I am so thankful for a few things you did in this video: (1) your use of images, specifically adding to the diagram as the explanation continued, (2) your explanation of latin nomenclature of which i have zero experience studying, and (3) the review at the end to synthesize the amount of information received. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge in this video, it has helped me better understand the medical jargon i’ve received as well as my own kinesthetic awareness. Many thanks!
Hey, thanks so much for this comment! I love the specific feedback. I never know if the reviews at the end actually get used or not, so it's cool to hear that you found that part helpful! Best of luck with the recovery!
Thank you for this video!!!!! I'm a pre-nursing student with a VERY rigid anatomy professor and you explained this so thoroughly. Also I wish you were my professor so badly, I'm sure your classes are a blast! Thank you!
You are a very talented teacher. Thank you very much for this clear, concise, friendly and well-paced video. I lead a Yoga teacher training and this is the support video I'm going to recommend to accompany students' reading/practice/writing re:knee anatomy. It's detailed and yet easy to understand for students of movement who need to understand some anatomy and the impact of alignment/misalignment. Looking forward to investigating the rest of your channel. Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent.
@@muzk2710 I had meniscus tear in 2014, and did cortison injection for it 2015 and it helped with pain back then a lot! Now I'm still have a simple pain every while (I call it moody pain) when walking, sitting or carrying heavy things, and when I got ankle injury 2022 in same leg, my knee pain became a bit more than usually. Just sharing✋
This is so easy and simple found your channel today. I'm glad I didn't make a mistake of subscribing without watching and you more than deserve it. This is so easy❤
Just awesome! Joints seem super complex and hard to comprehend! But You explain all the different parts of a joint in a way that is easy to understand, watchable and fun to follow!🙃🌿🌻 Thanks a lot!!!
@@SiebertScience it’s my pleasure. I am a doctor from Bangladesh. Your videos r very helpful when I am doing some reviews for my AMC exam preparation. Thanks again.

Great video. I've recently injured my knee so this was helpful understanding the anatomy. I like how you gave the opportunity for us to test if we remembered all the names!
Thank you for this exhaustive description. For all the unfortunate people who have suffered knee injury (I had a torn acl operation 30 years ago) it would be helpful to prepare a video with typical injuries and ways to address them depending on age etc. A tip to people who have had knee issues I would give is : train your quadriceps muscles continuously! They then can take most of the loading off the menisci and the other joint parts that come into contact. Proactively everyone should do this. ( and aim to lose weight,,,) Also , if you stay seated for quite a while, then before standing up aim to have the knee joint lubricated via some leg extension/ contraction prior to standing up: seemingly after being seated for a while the synovial fluid settles and cannot provide the lubrication needed. If you forget to do it and you notice any inflammation use ICE and it goes away. Other than this my ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT operation has - touch wood- given me a problem free 30 years ( thanks to meticulous warm up prior to say any tennis game: mainly quadricep isometric exercises of raising both legs from a lying down position.
Great! Thanks so much. I think the damage I did to my knees by using the mini-trampoline (rebounder) is to the Medial Collateral Ligament in both knees. Now I have to figure out how to deal with this. Fascinating videos you are sharing with us!
Your explanation is perfect!! You explain it simply, perfectly clearly with non complicated visuals. Not only that, but I like your quiz at the end… A nice added touch Thank you 🙏 kindly ❤
yours is the simples and best explanation... In Taekwon-do sparring I steped in a funny way before a kick and my knee gave in to the inner part of the leg but while my knee was spraining I twisted my body in a counter twist to the one my knee was and let my body go to the floor. At the moment I felt no pain, stood up and continue. Just 3 seconds later my knee gave in again in a much smaller force and I stopped completely. Put ice, took anti-inflamatory and 4 days later there is no swollen knee anymore. I never had any pain, only when try the same lateral movement to test. So if I understood well my collateral ligaments suffered either a partial tear, or overstretched . I have a doctor appointment for Wednesday to learn th extention of it
This has helped me a lot to learn the basics of anatomy it’s so much shorter than what we learned in massage school because it’s more detailed and harder than this but at least I have an idea

Great stuff. I really like it when you reference the origin of a word, like the reference you had with the "ACL" spanish origin, in this vid. As well, a great recap. Nice and concise. TY. You picked up a like and sub from me!
