Honestly there should be more videos like this which should be used as a warning for people aspiring for Australian PR through the study pathway. There's a reason why international student fees are doubled compared to local students, english tests having an expiry date, professional year programs offering points (even tho its a complete waste of time and money), and education being one of Australia's largest exports. They sell you the dream of living here permanently but they have effectively raised the requirement so high it's almost impossible for a newly graduated student to get PR. Your only hope would be to convince some Australian to sponsor you in a partner or marriage visa, otherwise you're pretty much screwed regardless if you have 90-95 points because you'll be competing with thousands of other applicants. Australia does not want skilled immigrants, they just want cheap imported labor to fuel their hospitality and gambling industries - dangling a the bait of PR to keep you in the hamster wheel. If you want PR, you're better off with Canada.
Thanks! I truly feel a lot of videos about Australian PR just misguide people and doesn’t tell about what’s happening. And the people who share their true experience with an aspiring candidate, they feel like we are trying to make them not come to Australia lol
Australia used to be a paradise for PR some 15 years back when not many people were interested to this country as currency value was also low. Now in recent years it has become unpredictable and difficult. One good example is how Australia gave preference for only Medical professions during Covid lockdowns and other occupations were not given PR. Thus PR pathway to Australia can be unpredictable and difficult after spending so much money. Studying is Australia is only 5 points extra which can gained in other ways, without spending big money and staying in home country itself.
Seriously, each & every word you said is absolutely true and real experience. People are finding alternatives and ending up sacrificing their Australian dream 😭
I come to Australia but very hard to find work. Rent is very high here need alot of $$$$ before you come. Australia is not easy many people lose alot of money many scams
I 100% agree with your comments. I moved here in 2016 on a student visa and some of the requirements are so stupid. It doesn't matter whether you've attended their high school or university. If you don't sit one of their money making tests, you can't go through the system. And this is when some international students speak and write English so much better than domestic students. Oh and don't get me started on getting a job. You're literally at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to jobs. I went through numerous rejections before getting one on a last minute offer. It doesn't matter how good your grades, references or work ethic are. When they look at you and upon seeing that you're not a pr or a citizen, 99 percent of the time, they'll throw away your application. It's good to hear that you've become a Canadian pr. Honestly, I wouldn't want to go through the Australian PR system again if I have to restart.
Totally. It’s become very hard. But if you get your foot in the door of job market and become a PR, there’s no other country like Australia. And good luck! Hope you get it soon. Xx
Hi Akanksha Thanks so much for the time and effort you put in creating this video. Today I had a mental breakdown after realising that after 8 years, I am still in the same boat as thousands of other people who have been here less years than me, and yet competing for the same PR positions, stuck in this hell process. Everything you have described is absolutely right and I have actually started to advise people to not waste their money and come to Australia for studies under any circumstance, as it is not worth it at all, especially if the dream is to become a PR (which ultimately becomes the goal in the end after spending thousands of dollars and feeling you deserve it). This country only sees you as a cash cow and honestly, apart from the beaches and weather, Australia lacks in family values, spiritual values, culture, history and just the mainstream lifestyle. Do not waste your time and leave your own precious country, to slave away every day at the mercy of an ignorant Australian employer just to pretend you're happy in a country that will never even accept you, if you're not white and/or have the Australian accent. Even after obtaining a PR, you will be sold the dream of owning a house for 500k which is not affordable to the average Australian (unless with family support or govt. subsidies, which most of them get) let alone an immigrant. I am begging you, whoever is reading this, do not come here unless you have a job and PR already, otherwise you are in for pain and disspointment and it will bring you down to your knees.
Hey! Don’t feel disheartened. I am a firm believer of whatever happens, happens for good and you’ll eventually find your way. I know this process is very frustrating but you’ll get through it. ❤️
I'm not from India, but found this video very related. I came to Melbourne from China in 2015, and now is the end of 2022. I finally got my pr after 7 years. My occupation is secondary teacher, which is one of the easiest occupation to get pr according to most agents. My score is 95. I have passed all the English tests and NAATI tests when I was still in uni. But it still took me 7 years.
It’s a long ever changing process. But I am so happy that you found this relatable and also regardless of the country, all of us have been in this boat some time or the other.
I come to Australia but very hard to find work. Rent is very high here need alot of $$$$ before you come. Australia is not easy many people lose alot of money many scams
Hey Lou Schuchen, I am an international student, currently in my 4th years of secondary education/science ( last year). I was wondering if you are able to inform me the process of you getting your PR.
We've got our family visa for permanent residency last July and we're flying on June this year. The process actually is not that long, it only takes less than a year. I think the biggest factor that our application didn't take long is because my father is working in regional Australia. I've heard that people living in big cities applying for permanent residency gets a lot of trouble with their application. Contrary to what others have said, my father is paid generously enough and was planning to move to Western Australia for higher pay.
Congratulations! The issues I mentioned arise with onshore applications. Offshore applicants are getting PR pretty easily whereas onshore ones are just waiting at higher points. :/
As much heart broken I am seeing the hard reality, the more I am grateful to you for sharing the inside story nobody tells! Just spoke with a renowned immigration consultant paying $150 here from India (you would have guess the name) and was told about a 1 year course for my wife leading to getting PR in 2-3 years leveraging bridging visa post the course which sounded too good to be true. Not losing hope yet but will be more thoughtful as we are working in good companies and at the prime of our careers, so starting afresh with the risk at stake may not be worth but will see. Good luck in Canada!
Thanks! I just wanted to share the facts to everyone who wishes to move. Not discouraging your move though. You should totally move if you are able to, just pave your way in the right manner. Good luck xx
True she is right..i ended up wasting years on my PR and finally cutoff are higher and even the job codes keesp changing, almost all states have a requirement that you should already have a job offer from Australia employer. Employer almost never offer job to offshore candidates. So its like a rat race
When my parents came to Australia, they didn't have to show money, work experience or points. My father had economic degree. That was in the 80's. Now, students are a money making business.
go to New Zealand, get PR there (so much easier, it just takes ca 2-3 years), and then citizenship (very easy after you got your PR). Then you can live and work as long as you wish in Australia. They are also making the process easier these days to become a citizen if you are already a kiwi. I personally want to stay in NZ but I know so many people who have gone through the NZ citizenship route
Watching your video is like finding lost sister that I needed🙏🏻 Had the same thoughts recently and you speaking my mind. I wish you a happiness and peace
I don't know whether my comment will stay here or it will be deleted. But below are my personal views re the content of this video. I can feel the frustration and disappointment that has been the base reason behind the content of this video. However, the facts mentioned are mostly correct unlike the reasoning mentioned against them, which are mostly biased. To summarise: 1. PR is complicated. True. Occupation list changes. True. Australian immigration add or remove from the list as per their wish? Not really. It is based on the demand of that occupation in the industry. Why would they want to keep an occupation in the list which they know doesn't have much demand in the market? That would add up to the already rising rate of unemployed immigrants in the country. Increase in points requirement has the same reason too. When supply of applicants is way more than demand for that occupation, point requirements has to go up to cater the increased competition. Nothing wrong in that. 2. Education consultants and migration agents sell you the study path way or whatever else to get your money. True. It is their job. They are salespersons for their companies. Simply don't fall for them. If you really are good enough to make a move to a new country on a professional basis, you are really good enough to conduct entire application and decision making process on your own. If you need any clarifications, talk to the embassy people of immigration officers. Don't choose study pathway to get PR. Choose it to attain higher education and then take a call whether and when to apply for PR. 3. Skill assessment is a drama. Not entirely true. You should look at the qualifications from some developing or underdeveloped countries. It is really necessary to ensure the compatibility with Australian education standard to ensure as much as possible that they won't end up not getting recognised in the industry here. One year experience required by the assessing bodies for few education streams is to ensure that your education is at least good enough to get you the job somewhere else. 4. IELTS / PTE are not cheap and valid for only 2 years only. True. That is dumb? Not really. Private bodies do make it a business. Nothing can be done. Just don't give the test until you are 100% sure of applying EOI. And PR is PERMANENT residency. So if you are worried about having to give test again for another immigration in near future, PR is not really your thing. Coming from India where english is fairly common is an easy for not forgetting english in 2 years after passing the test. Imagine coming from a totally non-english speaking country (Ukraine or Portugal for example), it is easily possible to lose english competency in two years if there is no interaction with english whatsoever. 5. Annual immigration ceiling is reduced. Of course it will be. It is again a supply demand thing which has been affected by slowing down of industry demands due to prolonged COVID effects. After all, immigration is designed to benefit Australia's industry by enabling more resources that are qualified in certain occupation categories. It is not to benefit applicants against the requirements of Australian industry. PR doesn't guarantee you a job. It is just a requirement to live in a country. 6. PR is a super expensive process. True. That is to ensure that an applicant will apply only and only when he / she is very very sure of making a move and not just obtaining a PR as a hobby. I have seen rich brats getting multiple PRs just for the sake of it. Imagine it needs few hundreds instead of few thousands, so many people will apply, that the supply v demand thing will be ruined and keeping track of requirements of industries against qualified people will become impossible. The points requirement will go through the roof too. However, I agree taking study route for PR is not worth it. I believe study is to learn. PR is after you start to earn. Solution, pursue the pre-requisites of PR application on the sides along with what you are doing and start the assessment part onwards which needs money to be spent only when you are very very sure of making a move asap. If you don't agree or oppose the above views, please ignore the comment. It is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings, so apologies if I have, unintended. It is just to establish the other side of the coin which is nowhere to be seen in any other comments. P.S. I am not an immigration agent too. I moved to Melbourne by going through the whole process of Subclass 189 by my own.
Hey, no this comment is not going to get removed because I value everyone’s opinion even if it’s different to mine and this is a space to share opinions. If I may ask, what year did you do your 189 and moved? And did you move straight from overseas or you were staying in Australia?
@@kunjannakhare9533 Okay so 189 was open in 2018 and no offence but since you moved straight as a permanent resident you wouldn’t know what I am talking about. 😕 This is something faced by anyone who’s come here to study and wanted to stay back. You can look at the comments section to see how many people resonate with this. Australia has been a country that invites immigrants but since these last 5 years, the government has made immigration for someone onshore an organised mess. I am actually questioning the laws/decisions made my the government and also suggesting what could’ve been better. These are some realities that people don’t see when coming to a new country and that’s what I have explained in the video. Yes there are technical and logical reasons behind everything but when you are in the situation, the perspective changes. I do mention in the video that yes I am frustrated because even after spending so much money, time, energy in a country you don’t have any leverage over anyone else applying for the PR from overseas. :) It’s easy for someone who hasn’t been through this, to put reasoning behind everything I mentioned and no blames because it’s different watching this from the outside. Thanks The goal of my video to give a fact check to people who are planning to move, thinking things are easy as butter. It’s not anymore. Might be in future but Australian immigration is a mess currently.
@kunjan the best comment i have seen so far among all :) so informative yet not confusing. PR shall only be granted to right person who really want to move purely on intention he or she love that country and also he or she have professional skill which able to help the country to fill the workforce gap using the skill he/she gain &possessed either from education + working experience thru oversea/ home country or in australia. ( the so called win win situation ) there's no shorcut to get everything you want so don't blame when thing not getting your way /as you wish. cheers and no offend here
@@laytheng6825 hey, rightfully said but what would be your reaction when you have all the said things, experience, education, qualifications and your documentation is not assessed due to random reasons which don’t align with the assessing bodies. This just stops someone from going forward with creating their application at the first place. The purpose of this video is not to discourage but to forward what is the reality of immigration system in Australia.
I recommend this video especially for fresh grads planning for Masters in Auz!! I can totally relate myself to each and every point you have mentioned, Starting from skills assessment to language tests. I've been waiting since 5 years and yet there is no ray of hope., I've done 3 Assessments so far which is way expensive. Out of all, Australia is helping the English tests, Assessment bodies and the colleges to make more money at the stake of many people's dream. It is true that the competition has increased, but there should be a streamlined way to deal with.
Like I said it all depends, my friend received PR and within 2 months he landed on a job. Well it is case to case. Unless people who have PR it is no straight path.
Ankansha, extremely happy for the sincere content you presented . It's indeed an eye opener for all aspirants, so as to think twice before the leap. You have an excellent presentation skill and an awesome tone of speech. Keep going dear..
You got me to rethink my idea of coming to Australia...These things are actually which a person should think and focus on by the very start of his journey. Thanks for your helpful review.
If you wanna be successful, you must take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to making you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life...
I trade as a side hustle while keeping my job. I'm tired of trading in losses myself. I've blown my account twice and it's frustrating. I see people making a living out of trading and I want to do the same. Please I need help can someone teach me how to trade?
Having monitored my portfolio performance, Pamela has made me a jaw-dropping $370k from just the past two quarters alone. I have learned why these past experienced traders make enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market.
First few seconds, "Here's a secret, they don't want you" Me: "Finally, a realistic video on the topic". Lmfao but no seriously, as an international student here hoping to get PR, this is very clear to me already. Still gonna pursue it but I'm under no delusions about it.
Hahaha yeah that’s exactly what I wanted to do. I mean just be aware of the facts and situation surrounding the PR scenario and proceed accordingly. Good luck to you xx
Its not just Australia. Every point you mentioned is same for immigration in Canada as well. Immigration itself is costly and time consuming process which everyone goes through.
@@Whatsnextakanksha you appeared in the last draw of 2020 which is why. Today its completely different. FSW cut off has reached more than 520. What was your crs score? If it wasn’t more than 520. Try migrating to Canada today. My crs score was 481 and I still have to bound by pnp for my immigration. When I went to do upfront medicals they dint do it because for only 1 month the rules were changed. And now they are doing it again. Rules change in blink of an eye these days.
Been 7 years here. My occupation was removed in 2017 as well so I feel you! Regarding migration agents, I totally agree! I know more than them most of the time and they are just trying to get a commission. I've dealt with a few migration lawyers but I consult a few before I make my final decision and I go to them when I already know the answer just so they verify my thinking or for them to go beyond the basics. Most have to go deep into the law to help me ahhahahah Points are so hard to get when you're not in IT or accounting because you can't do a professional year or get points from stem, degrees etc., And everything is so expensive NAATI is $800 just to show you speak your own language! Exams are nearly $400 a pop, skill assessment is almost $1000 and that's just the basics. Also living here is expensive so make sure you get a good job and live anywhere but Sydney and Melbourne so you can enjoy your money and spend less. It's great that you share these truths with people because many people come here without a plan and with fairy tale dreams and then reality hits them hard. Thank you!
Almost every person I know who came to Australia around 2016-2017 has faced this. Thanks for sharing this with this community. People need to know that immigrating to Australia is not always a bed of roses. Good luck to you and thank you for appreciating my efforts.
@@shazzz2909 491 also has eligibility requirements which include skills assessments so until I have that I cannot apply for anything. But anyways I have moved out of Australia
You should have come to Canada for Masters, because in Canada, after you complete your Masters, they will grant you three year work permit and you don't necessarily have to work in your field. If you work and pay your taxes for 3 years, they will grant you Canadian PR. And, 3 years after that, you can apply for Canadian citizenship. Once you are a Canadian citizen, you can work in the USA as well. By the way, even if you do college diploma, it is still the same.
It’s not that easy. They don’t offer you anything. You have to apply for it. And 3 years work permit is available only after 2 years of study. If you do 1 year of study you get only 1 year of work permit. And after that you have to apply for PR which is subjective to the fact that you fulfil all eligibility criteria. I did a lot of research about this recently
@@Whatsnextakanksha Yea, That was what I meant.. College Diploma is 3 years. Australia is too hot. A lot of Australians have left the country for Canada, USA or UK because of heat, slow internet speed, bush fire, spiders on the wall, dangerous animals in their backyards and loneliness and isolation. A lot of Australians come to USA, Canada, UK and get deported back to Australia at the airports. If you come to British Columbia, Canada and California, USA, you will see a lot of white Australians settled here. I have some Australian friends working with me in my company. They are very happy to live in Canada.
@@Smart_Tamaha 😂😂😂you are trying to be sarcastic 😂😂😂 there lots of Americans being deported from Australia 🇦🇺 Infact US is on the redlist countries, and about Canada 🇨🇦 it’s extremely cold, lets not talk about low wages compared to Australia
Great video, it's helpful for aspiring immigrants. I'd like to share my different experience though. I decided on Computer Science in 8th grade, chose a course on data science in Sydney in 2018, and wasn't focused on permanent residency (PR). After finishing my course, I scored highest possible band on the PTE for a work visa. While on a work bridging visa, I did PY (costing 7.5K, not 14K as stated). I then passed the Naati, gained two years of work experience, received a letter from my employer, and applied for a 190 visa. It took 9 months to receive an invitation and another 6 months for the grant. The process was straightforward. Knowing what visa you want and taking consistent steps is key. It's costly but worth it.
I have just completed my Bs and thinking for moving to Australia for further higher studies and start my research and the 1st vedio came in front of me is this vedio which completely change my mind. Btw thanks for such an honest vedio and looking forward for such vedios ❤
Thanks! Just trying to share the facts and reality. If you ask anyone studying in Australia they would give you a similar assessment. Do your proper research and then move.
Sorry to hear it is hard for overseas students to get PR in Australia. But imagine if the Australian Government made it easy to get PR we would end up with a lot of useless people in Australia. Then once people get their PR then citizenship and decided to go on the dole, it would be more of a burden for the nation. So hence the reasons for making it hard.
Yep, you are right. It’s not about making it easy. It’s about making it organised and streamlined. The constant changes and the misinformation spread amongst newcomers is terrifying.
I just commented on your TH-cam short, a friend of mine is spending his hard earned money on these agents who promised him that they'll provide him PR and work visa that too before leaving India, they said you fly along with your PR, they said him about the minimum points to score which is 65 I believe.
Agents gets $$$$ per student from an Australian university. Its a big business. IDP/British counsil are not fools to conduct events in 5 star hotels as such.
One of the biggest reality is , some of the people who already got their PR they don't even have any idea how they got and here were are we know everything and still hanging ... sad reality . We all in same boat
Australian immigration policy has got nothing to do with skill shortage. It has got to do with money. It is all about propping up the real estate market. They need students to rent out the house and new PR people to buy houses.
You couldnt be more wrong the last thing we need during a housing shortage is more people coming here to compete for limited supply. As an Aussie I prefer my own children be given the opportunity to rent or own their own homes before foreigners. If the current leftist government keeps up the policy of increasing immigration numbers before addressing the infrastructure problems they may well find themselves being replaced with a government that takes a different approach.
Couldn’t agree more with whatever you’ve mentioned here, even things that you forgot to address!! Anyway finally got my Permanent Residency granted after almost 9.5 years of staying in the country! 🤲🙏🏽
First, Australia, NZ & Canada are stupidly overpriced in every possible way. Second, Australia sold out its education system by promising international students an easy PR back in the early noughties i.e. 2000-2003. From 2004 onwards the Australian Government has steadily reduced international student migration / skilled migration options by repeatedly toughening the points system, by changing visa types and by shuffling the skilled occupation list (SOL). Nowadays the policy aims to increase international student numbers, but reduce actual permanent migration. Even UK-qualified doctors can’t get PRs - and that’s not a joke. Finally, if you’re a nurse consider the UK or the USA - you get a better deal.
@@Whatsnextakanksha I was a skilled migrant to Australia in 2007 and am leaving Australia long term next year. I’d be glad to tell you some stories the next time I’m in Sydney - my girlfriend has occasional classes there so we drive over time to time. After all, Sydney is the only decent city in Oz …let’s face it: Melbourne is a flea infested call centre rat race 🤣. All the best with your visa 👍🏽
@@Whatsnextakanksha from one trampoline to the other, eh 😂 all the best with your Canadian PR - at least Canada allows for easier family visas for your siblings and parents. Australia is merciless with that kind of thing.
A job in social work is such a sensitive and highly responsible job you don’t mess around that studying this field just for a PR. There are certain nationalities, when recruiters see the names they will know those were PR seekers and not those genuinely passionate about social work because in their own country they would never choose to study this subject or it’s not even a career choice culturally. So don’t be surprised if you never even get a call for an interview. Spending money in the country for studies only entitles for a qualification not PR. Getting a job then is if you are able to convince your genuine intentions towards your chooses education but by now students have lost any credibility as they have lost their reputation in the last 15 years to be genuinely interested in their field of study . It’s better therefore to provide the PR for those who have worked in their respective fields in their own countries for years rather than students.
No no I am not doing social work for PR. But there are agents who are suggesting people to do such courses just for the sake of PR even though I didn’t have any relation to it. Your point is absolutely correct. This is a field no one should work in unless they are passionate about it.
What you are describing is just discrimination on the basis of nationality. And who says that a person cannot pursue social work for PR reasons AND also because they are passionate about it? It's not mutually exclusive. And yes I wouldn't pursue social work in my country because the pay is AWFUL and I must be realistic about the fact that money matters and I need to be able to make a living wage.
@@Solidude4 Are they wrong tho? They aren't. I watch many many maaaaaaany videos from people from my own country in Aus with a study visa that are doing a PET or studying something they have no interest on just because they believe they may get a PR from it. And they have no fear in saying how once they get the PR they're never working it again. Why would Aus gov give PR when they know that's the reality of it? They weren't born yesterday.
@@Solidude4 Internation students with this dishonest mindset think they're sly and smarter than the Aus gov and will be able to fool them. They're not and they won't fool them. Australia has no problem giving PR to professionals they need that have prior experience in the field. Aka, will work the job in Aus, instead of never working on it once they get PR. And they can one from the other.
I agree with you. There are so many people like you and me. Australian Immigration is funniest Immigration ever. They like to refugee visa a lot. I stayed 8 years there. Biggest mistake in my life that i went to Australia. Australian people are nice but the immigration is filthy.
8:09 This is very true. And the saddest part is that DHA can neglect your points in work experience and refuse your visa even if you have positive outcome skills assessment once they see something off.
mate - explore other choices where you can get any closely related job with your education.. just take any job first.. explore other states, regional areas, relatives etc... where you can get sponsorship after working with them for some months years.. like 5 more years or visa, then you gain more experience and points.. improve English skills meanwhile... etc... finally apply for PR... don't think you will get PR just after education at age of 25... there are people with 10+ years experience 35+ years of age competing with you, coming directly on work permits and PR's from abroad.... PR is lengthy process... don't get disappointed... you look just 25 years of old... too young ... you got lot of time to go mate... what are you talking...?
Lol I don’t have so much time or money to invest anymore. I was working full time at a great position with a great salary package and exploring other options too but when you are not eligible at the first place, it becomes harder to find options. It is also a lengthy and expensive process so, I chose to move out of Australia and to Canada. I got permanent residency here.
I'd strongly suggest the Global Talent Independent 858 Visa for experienced folks, Instead of going to AU for a Masters. I have a non-Aussie bachelor's, and received an invitation to apply within 4 days of submitting an EOI after reaching out to a Global Talent Officer, this year (2022). Visa is currently in progress, and will be done by Feb 2023 per the current 898 processing times. You'll need a nominator and be in the top 5-10% of your profession, in terms of performance / pay, ideally making >AU$250,000 for priority processing.
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thanks! I don't mean it as an empty flex - the first agent we went to didn't even suggest this route, and went directly into a 189/190 visa spiel. I suspect there are many qualified folks out there who aren't aware of the GTI option - or aren't being provided the option by greedy agents who know they'll make more money off a Skills-based visa.
Very well said, getting PR in Australia is very difficult these days, just a new subscriber to your Channel, so what have you planned? Even Plan B? I hope that you would get your PR quickly though
Hi you are a great presenter, hats off to you for that. But I want to address something here, Australia is a very special country because of its nature and incredible lifestyle and standard of living. But many immigrants or PR seekers choose a field of study not out of passion for the subject, Australian employer are quite aware that students study for the PR based on what’s in demand in the country , and not out of passion, this will be caught immediately during an interview. Also it’s really shame that immigrants don’t appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of the country but want to move there for the medical benefits, the it only takes a a second for everyone to want to move to Canada or UK or USA if it’s easier . The employers and the government is quite aware of this , but education services is one of the main income sources in the country so they will market it well as a pathway for PR.The truth is majority don’t want to become Australian , they want to remain from which ever nationality they belonged to before and separate in to grouped living in neighborhoods of those communities. During job interviews they can pick up who is going to fit in well in the Australian mind set or culture or who is going to be cut out of the group because they are not integrating. As much as there is respect for every culture and back ground the untold truth is if you are not “ white enough” to mix with the Australians and cane just for enjoy the benefits of the country they will segregate you too. When is Rome right ? If you are not able to crack a joke or go out for drink with your colleagues and be part of that tribe your degree will not matter . It’s your presentation skills of yourself and your genuine intentions of wanting to live in this gorgeous country that truthfully most people don’t have and believe they are entitled for a PR if they studied in a field in demand . Imagine if you studied hospitality, but you don’t have great people skills or well groomed and presentable ? But you expect your degree ti get you a job in a 5 start hotel ? Not fair is it ? IT jobs behind a desk are indeed easier to obtain , but the true people oriented jobs are going to take very smart western minded well groomed personalities . I know many people who actually feel so entitled for a PR who actually say that Australians are of bad blood and so what culture are they taking about .. it’s this kind of person who can be sniffed out very easily . Those who just there to grab the goods of the country and build a small version of their own country there . I know so many who say Australian is boring and that there is nothing to do there , they don’t realize they need to go for concerts to enjoy music and go out to restaurants of different cuisine, explore the nature of the country that’s so unique from the rest of the world , go hiking ,surf, explore the booming restaurant scene, bars, cafes arts and culture . If you want to only walk in the malls and eat your local cuisine go to the zoo once and coast line and think you have seen it all, enjoy the top notch infrastructure and medical services then do you really want to come to Australia or would any country that gives a PR be good enough for you? Those people will be weeded out.
Australia is an amazing country and I loved my time here. We all are seeking for a better life and Australia had taught me so much about life. I am just glad I could live here for so long and learn so much. Time to expand my horizons now :)
@MAYA DI such an immature comment. Thinking that migrants must leave their culture behind is so unaustralian. Moreover, telling to limit migrants freedom of choice to group and live wherever they like and feel good, is so rude. To be of the opinion that migrants don't want to explore the country, visit cultural events etc. sounds ignorant to me. You live far from migrants' reality, which is good for you, but placing such things on the internet is useless and untrue. Finally, I'll only agree with one point. The education is important source of income and Australian government knows how to turn it into win win for Australia. So, migrants on student visas not only leave their hard-earned money to pay extraordinary fees, health insurance, but also filling the labour shortages and investment properties. The sad truth is that advertisers and agent accredited by government forgot that it is ethical to disclose all pros and cons of moving to Australia, so that migrants can make informed decisions before leaving their homeland.
Disagree with australia doest not want you. Skilled people are needed for sure, the study path to get PR works and this is from close friends. The reason for many students are struggeling may vary from every case, but for many is because there are not guided by the right advisor and they are making their plan in big cities while in remote areas they might get better chances to get a PR.
It is same everywhere, Either you choose Canada or Australia, Agents will sell you PR dreams ( Studying in AUS/CAN is a pathway to PR). Please do your own research before investing and migrating to any country as it a huge step involve your harden earn money and time. One more thing is you need a luck too, your research can go into dustbin if they changes rules/law by the end of your process or study and its same everywhere, Remember countries are not doing for your favor they will always check their own benefits. If you have any relations to people owning business or can help then that is the most favorable option you can choose. ( Mention not business owners will definitely charge good amount of money in favor of your migration)
i understand studying in australia only gives you 5 points but then your education and certification is recognised in australia.. making it easier haha
One more thing to mention. In order to be eligible for state nomination of a regional area please check the skilled occupation list of that particular state.
Everything you said about pointing system and assessment is true. I have done some research and it is very discouraging. I visited AU and fell in love with Sydney but then maybe I just romanticize living there because reality is different than imagining. My job is in the shortlists but the assessment is challenging. They want the syllabus of all the classes I have taken and clinical hours, signatures of clinicians etc. I have been out of school for over a decade. Where am I supposed to get the syllabus of all the classes? Most of my prof are retired. Even though I have the experience in my field, AU require Bachelor's degree. My program only required Associates in Science here in the US so that is what I have. I make decent living here but have been thinking about moving there. I am very good in what I do and have the experience, but the assessment/regulating body wants trails of papers.
it's true the education industry in australia is full of snakes. it's less an education industry than an immigration industry. the immigration tests are often a load of crap. the jobs for recent immigrants and aspiring residents are often crappy and exploitative. the government knows this and does nothing to police it. australians don't like the system either as it often undercuts their own pay and conditions. i personally know of many people who entered into visa marriages all of which ended in divorce (although the immigrating partner was allowed to stay). it's a tough situation and the world is full of people who would love to live in australia to enjoy the high pay and relatively stable political system.
@@Whatsnextakanksha sorry to hear that you had to leave australia. the immigraration/education pathway is largely a scam made to profit from hopeful immigrants. that's what happens when the educational institutions become privatized. i hope your canadian experience is better. there is actually a huge demand for workers in regional australia at the moment. my mate works in a restaurant that just imported 3 philipino chefs who i assume will get residency after a few years. crappy jobs are an option you may need to take if you're serious about living in australia. the upside is that our crappy jobs are far better paid and have better conditions than most countries. there are many well educated indians working low skill and low pay jobs and you can tell it's frustrating for them.

One more thing that I most dislike about skills assessment is that they assess their own Australian education just like the overseas one. Like They don’t trust their own education providers 🤣
IDP is also useless. Over the years they have made a place for themselves at the top. But their services are downgrading but by bit. I had a horrible experience in Mumbai. Based on my research, I kept asking the agent to get stuff done. What's the point if I'm giving the instructions? It was more of a hassle than help
Great, to te point reality of Australia, I know it at personal level as I also studied, worked and spent time , money & energy in Melbourne to get a PR, it was an exhausting experience and yes I was not successful to achieve it, for that reason I say yes Australian Policy makers attract lots of inflow of money from countries like India and they change the rules all at once, also yes, it is also true that they donot want you there as they are too full of themselves, and even if they want you there that would be only in labour class, rest they would try every bit to avoid you, This person has really did her inner calling of making people aware of the reality and to stya away from immigration agents as yes they will sell you everything and anything and they just dont care about your future whatsoever. This is 2024 and I heard that subclass 189, 190 & 491 have started so I am about to apply but seeing the Non Invited data at 90 points just creates a negative in my mind.
Thanks a ton, really sad to hear that, I totally empathize .. you spend your sweat and blood and you suffer , by the way India is doing great under Modi leadership , If quality of life and money is not a problem , I would never think to leave India , here I have a sense of freedom and feel at home.
India is a great option but I have a lifestyle and financial stability here which I don’t want to leave and move back. I have a bigger sense of freedom here 😇
My experience with Y axis has been great. I got both Canada and Australia PR through them. Agents were really sharp with good communication skills and helped me a lot especially during ACS evaluation (which sucks btw)
Y AXIS IS BIGGEST SCAM COMPANY IN INDIA. I was working in Bangalore and many of my seniors loosen their money more than 5lakhs with Y AXIS still they are in India. Do not be part of their SCAM.
I used Y Axis Pune services. Luckily all the agents were really persistent. Got my Canada Pr in 2017 and Australia Pr in 2021 recently. I had to get ACS evaluated twice as did not get invite for first two years. But nevertheless, I had a really good experience with all the agents.
PR- IN THE SYSTEM OR SYSTEM IN PR The relevance of PR activities is related to the development trends of both the world and the domestic consumer market

I am agree with you we studied one of the good university and college and even they do not trust their qualifications, its all bull shit asking again and again english test and skills assessments.
It seems like none of the dream countries actually want you. Neither Australia nor USA, Canada, Europe etc. First I thought about USA but the PR process is so lengthy, then I thought about Australia as it's weather is close to my country but again same thing. I can't even decide which country to apply in the first place. The only reason I am trying to study abroad is to get PR and get out of my country. But there is no heaven in earth. 🙂
Normally, permanent residents can use their permanent resident visa to travel abroad and return to Australia for up to five years from the date the visa was granted. After five years, permanent resident must obtain a Five Year Resident Return visa in order to re-enter the country.Resident Return visa If you leave Australia after your travel validity expires, or it expires when you are outside Australia, you will not be able to return to Australia as a permanent resident. This visa allows you to return as a permanent resident.Cost AUD425 to apply online AUD505 to apply on paper

When they look at you and upon seeing that you're not a pr or a citizen, 99 percent of the time, they'll throw away your application.
It's good to hear that you've become a Canadian pr. Honestly, I wouldn't want to go through the Australian PR system again if I have to restart.

Hi Akanksha
Thanks so much for the time and effort you put in creating this video.

Oh I am so glad. You are sweet. And I wish you all the best for your future too xx
To summarise:
I got my 189 in late 2018 while overseas. I moved in March 2020.
@@kunjannakhare9533 Okay so 189 was open in 2018 and no offence but since you moved straight as a permanent resident you wouldn’t know what I am talking about. 😕
This is something faced by anyone who’s come here to study and wanted to stay back.
It’s easy for someone who hasn’t been through this, to put reasoning behind everything I mentioned and no blames because it’s different watching this from the outside. Thanks
The goal of my video to give a fact check to people who are planning to move, thinking things are easy as butter.
( the so called win win situation )
there's no shorcut to get everything you want so don't blame when thing not getting your way /as you wish. cheers and no offend here
@@laytheng6825 hey, rightfully said but what would be your reaction when you have all the said things, experience, education, qualifications and your documentation is not assessed due to random reasons which don’t align with the assessing bodies.

Thanks for giving me hope 😊
That’s probably a scam. No agent can guarantee a PR. It’s government’s discretion.
Agents gets $$$$ per student from an Australian university. Its a big business. IDP/British counsil are not fools to conduct events in 5 star hotels as such.
Thank you for your information and wish you good life and good health
One of the biggest reality is , some of the people who already got their PR they don't even have any idea how they got and here were are we know everything and still hanging ... sad reality . We all in same boat
Very informative and insightful video. Keep it up! Looks like it much, much easier to apply for PR via student visa in Canada.
Thank you. Yes Canada is much easier than Australia for sure but the current situation is also changing.
@@Whatsnextakanksha changing how? Could you please explain?
Australian immigration policy has got nothing to do with skill shortage. It has got to do with money. It is all about propping up the real estate market. They need students to rent out the house and new PR people to buy houses.
You couldnt be more wrong the last thing we need during a housing shortage is more people coming here to compete for limited supply. As an Aussie I prefer my own children be given the opportunity to rent or own their own homes before foreigners. If the current leftist government keeps up the policy of increasing immigration numbers before addressing the infrastructure problems they may well find themselves being replaced with a government that takes a different approach.
Thank you for making this video! It's very insightful!

Very helpful information. Australia is in my bucketlist. I hooe I can visit soon.
You will love it and thanks!
No matter how much time and money you spend in Australia, there is no guarantee that you will get the PR :(
True that
First, Australia, NZ & Canada are stupidly overpriced in every possible way.
Well said. ❤️

Aka, will work the job in Aus, instead of never working on it once they get PR. mate - explore other choices where you can get any closely related job with your education.. just take any job first.. explore other states, regional areas, relatives etc... where you can get sponsorship after working with them for some months years.. like 5 more years or visa, then you gain more experience and points.. improve English skills meanwhile... etc... finally apply for PR... don't think you will get PR just after education at age of 25... there are people with 10+ years experience 35+ years of age competing with you, coming directly on work permits and PR's from abroad.... PR is lengthy process... don't get disappointed... you look just 25 years of old... too young ... you got lot of time to go mate... what are you talking...?

I'd strongly suggest the Global Talent Independent 858 Visa for experienced folks, Instead of going to AU for a Masters. I have a non-Aussie bachelor's, and received an invitation to apply within 4 days of submitting an EOI after reaching out to a Global Talent Officer, this year (2022). Visa is currently in progress, and will be done by Feb 2023 per the current 898 processing times. You'll need a nominator and be in the top 5-10% of your profession, in terms of performance / pay, ideally making >AU$250,000 for priority processing.
Congratulations!
@@Whatsnextakanksha Thanks! I don't mean it as an empty flex - the first agent we went to didn't even suggest this route, and went directly into a 189/190 visa spiel.
Time to expand my horizons now :)
what a racist and ignorant comment wow

( Mention not business owners will definitely charge good amount of money in favor of your migration)

You should consult a migration lawyer. They might be able to help you better.
That how a place getting shity-- scaring all the potential and compatitive employees away by those dirty works craving in their purses.
it's true the education industry in australia is full of snakes. it's less an education industry than an immigration industry. the immigration tests are often a load of crap. the jobs for recent immigrants and aspiring residents are often crappy and exploitative. the government knows this and does nothing to police it. australians don't like the system either as it often undercuts their own pay and conditions. i personally know of many people who entered into visa marriages all of which ended in divorce (although the immigrating partner was allowed to stay). it's a tough situation and the world is full of people who would love to live in australia to enjoy the high pay and relatively stable political system.
If I had the option, I would have never moved from Australia haha
