Harder than Dead Cells?! Have you made it to 5BC on Dead Cells? That game is difficult! Has me worried about buying this one now. I'll still get it when it goes on sale though. This is the one game that had me rewatching the direct to find out what it was.

Im so tired of Roguelikes. There are so many games from the genre that Id really like if they werent Roguelike/Roguelite, its like your time and effort are just wasted every time you die.
Really enjoying the game. Never been to big a roguelite fan but I do like this one. The thing I like about this one is it really makes you want to push further than you can probably make it. Like you, I made it to like second boss after a couple tries. I think more than most roguelites, this one really makes you want to gamble on long runs.
Konami was one of the best game companies in the 80s and 90s. By the 00s they really lost their way when their talented developers started leaving. People put so much focus on Kojima that they dont realise the plenty of other great Konami developers pre-2005. Konami is now a shell of what they used to be, they just dont have the talent there anymore.
I'll go on record on your comments and say this game is amazing. The level up of weapons definitely makes you feel progression when you don't think it does. Interesting background music. Art. Each weapons has it uses. Only issue I did have was 1 specific platform I had issues jumping on probably my fault.
Konami also released a Yu-Gi-Oh! game last month, is surprinsingly polished, and while it is free to play and has micro transactions, it’s not grindy, and they have been receptive and positive towards feedback, however, that doesn’t erase the NFT crap…

It looks worth checking out and I agree, we need a new Castlevania game like SOTN. The genre is really popular right now with Metroid Dread being fresh on everyone’s minds.

This is the most thorough, on-point review of this game I've seen; alot of review sites are lazily writing it off as a Dead Cells clone & it does soooooo much of it's own cool stuff. Came in totally blind off the Nintendo Direct b/c it reminded me of Muramasa: The Demon Blade......honestly I like to say it's what would happen if Muramasa, Dead Cells, & Castlevania got in a drunken barfight only to realize they share a common love for Japanese mythology lol. SUCH an unexpectedly dope game.... (Btw....the grind may not be as heavy as you think; yet another layer of strategy is knowing how far to push before either using the far right gate after boss fights to return to base w/ all your materials or selecting restore from the menu if you already know you won't reach the boss. B/c if you die you lose almost everything!!!!)
In the 80's I played the original Getsu Fuuma Den game in my Family Computer (Japanese version of NES). I remember I was terrified of playing it , and the language was in Japanese so I haven't really finished or knew what the game was about. This game was advanced in its time. I wish this game would have a PS4 or PS5 version.
Knowing Jim Sterling, they wouldn't give a damn about this game. They've been blacklisted since 2012, and they've been holding a grudge against Konami ever since.
Fuma has been in more games than people think. Getsu Fuma Den NES, Wai Wai World NES, Wai Wai World 2 NES, Castlevania Harmony Of Despair, and now this game. I really like the atmosphere of the original NES game, although there are awful first person dungeon maze sections that are pretty much impossible without a guide. Even with a guide I got lost in one of the maze sections and gave up.

I bought it on launch day, I bought the bundle because the original 1987 game was awesome! There was a problem with the bundle when it first came out, people didn't get the 1987 game on launch day. Konami got it settled the day after, but it wasn't fully settled until the company offered download codes to the ones that didn't get the 1987 game. I contacted Konami about it because I only was able to get Undying Moon and not the 1987 game after buying the bundle. They were able to help me out and now I got the 1987 game on my Switch. I hope this issue didn't happen to you, RGT 85.

If you haven't, check out Sakuna: Rice and Ruin. The sidescrolling combat parts definitely felt like Muramasa
