The reason this game looks so good is because of its art direction. It was flawless when it came out and now with updated HD textures and models it can be appreciated much more.
Just so everyone knows, you can have both dual stick and gyro. It's buried in the camera section of the controls menu in the game itself as opposed to the controls menu on the title screen. Not sure why they hid it there, but it's there if you want it.
I bought this game right after the direct and downloaded Gameboy and Gameboy Advance. Nintendo definitely got a win for this. We need Metroid Prime 2 and 3 Remaster now. Hoping it happens soon.

I bought this and put a few hours into this game already. As someone who generally dislikes remasters, I am blown away so far. This captures what every remaster/remake should be. Controls, graphics, everything has been brought up to spec. They also managed to keep the heart and soul of the original intact. Playing this game puts me back on Tallon IV, and not some re-imagined or "improved" version that is nothing like the original. One of my few gripes with the original was the lag when loading new areas (there were delays in doors getting opened, long elevator load screens). Even that has been improved. I hope this does very well and Nintendo and other game companies take note.
@@Matanumi it was bad with the Gamecube games too, also it was kind of random. Sometimes accessing the same room from different doors would have varying loading times. My best guess is that the game had issues clearing the memory of the before last room to make space for the next one.
I once bought Eternal Darkness for literally three euro new. To say that game bombed is the understatement of the year. Chances of getting an HD version of ED is as good as zero.
I really like Prime. It's one of my favourite games of all time. Echoes was really cool too. I hope you find the same enjoyment from them that I did :)

I haven't played Metroid Prime 1 since when it first came out when I was a child and it's been so amazing to experience it again and I'm so happy other people get to experience it too! I hope we get Echoes and Corruption too cause I'm greedy. 😭
This games world captivated me so much, but I had no clue what I was in for. I didn’t understand what people love about Metroid so much. But Metroid Prime is one of the most unique and creative games I’ve ever played, the atmosphere, the music, and the godly satisfaction when progressing or figuring out a puzzle that at first seemed to have no solution. It’s really amazing, I’ve been playing through the remaster the last few days on my OLED, this is the first time a Switch game had Immersed me to this level, the first time a game looked good enough and performed perfectly to keep me immersed for the time I play it. Buttery Smooth 60 Frames and beautiful visuals on top of the captivating Tallon IV planet makes this game worth it for $40.
For real, I can't believe the Switch is running this. At times it flat out looks like a current-gen game, all while running at a locked 60fps and 900p with anti-aliasing. This is hands down the best looking and most technically accomplished Nintendo game thus far.

Agreed 100%. One of my favorite games. Ahead of it's time on Gamecube. Played it again on the Trilogy. Saw the Direct and was like, "I'm gonna get the physical." That thought didn't last long. Couldn't stop thinking about it and bought the digital last night. Pure joy and awe while playing it. I'm very happy they did this. Hoping for Remasters of 2 and 3 (3 moreso than 2) and super psyched for 4 (someday). Keep up the great content, brother!
Nintendo is really good at making games that stay at a constant FPS. Playing Witcher 3 remake, and its always dipping way below 60fps. Prime Remastered never dips.
I saw the announcement and bought it immediately. And I was absolutely stunned at how amazing it looks. Retro Studios went above and beyond to give this masterpiece the treatment it deserves. Easily one of my top 5 greatest games of all time!!! Everyone who loves video games needs to buy this. It’s a classic that needs to be enjoyed by everyone.
My expectations were bare minimum when I first heard the rumors about this remaster, but after watching the trailer and playing though the entire game, I’ve been blown away. I’ve noticed so many details that I never saw on the original even after playing the Prime games a dozen times. And I continue to be blown away at how a game this gorgeous can run on the Switch. I hope the rest of the industry takes notes, because *this* is how you do a remaster right. I really hope 2 and 3 get this same treatment, because those games deserve the same love this did. And if this is a taste of what Metroid Prime 4 will look like? We are in for a treat!

I was blown away at the visuals of this remaster! MP was the very first Metroid game I ever played, so it has a special place in my heart. Just the opening notes of the music at the start menu had me whooshed back to 2002. This remaster is amazing. I couldn't wait for the physical copy so I purchased the digital...but I also prefer physical copies, so I will be buying the physical as well when it comes out, lol.

As a diehard Metroid fan and a huge Prime fan, this remake has me impressed. They went through the trouble of making all new assets and models for the entire game, yet it’s still the same game at its core. It’s very nearly a remake(I consider it a remake more than a remaster). It’s also somehow one of the best looking games on the Switch, but I’m a few hours in and everything looks so gorgeous. Phendrana drifts is my favorite area, the snow crunches under Samus feet now. It’s worth $40 for sure.
It is simply one of best games ever made. Still. I recently played through it again on steam deck through Primehack after 20 years, and it was emotional. This game is timeless and still holds up. Better yet, it eclipses many, many modern games. Seeing this gorgeous remaster/remake makes me want to play it yet again. Never experienced this game? I envy you.

I've always wanted to play the original and was shy of emulation since I have an insane habit of old school roms. I knew this game was a masterpiece and seeing it like this makes me know why.
I remember getting the original on the GameCube for my bday a couple a weeks after release. Such an amazing game that I beat it twice within a month. I also have very fond memories of Metroid Prime 2, imo just as good but definitely took the difficulty up a notch. I hope we get a remaster of part 2 as well. I'll be buying the physical copy as I still own the original GameCube games. Also this remaster looks like one of the best looking games on Switch from a graphics standpoint.
I agree, this was probably one of the best Nintendo remakes in recent memory. It makes me hopeful for when/if they put out a Wind Waker Remake. I bought it instantly when it was announced digitally and I plan on getting a hard cover copy as well.

The graphics from original has aged really fine after 20 years. This remaster just proved Retro Studios were wizards back in the day when developed the game.
Yup, instantly downloaded as soon as I saw "Metroid Prime Remastered", didn't even look at the promo. Just logged in and downloaded. And I will also get the physical release when available. I'm playing docked on a 32" 2K LED and with Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers and Pro Controller, simply amazing!! Blown away when I entered Phendrana Drifts!! Love that a flick of the controller lets the Morph Ball hop, like on Wii. Makes the wall puzzles much easier than timing things with a bomb.
I really want this game, but I'm holding out for the physical release. It looks so sick! Especially after Metroid: Dread converted me to a Metroid fan single handedly.
I bought it immediately after the direct ended, and I enjoyed everything. It's what I put down Splatoon 3 to the side for this childhood game on my GameCube, which I still possess! First seeing it in the direct I was in tears of joy and called my brother to let him know this came out, 2023 is starting off amazing with remasters this year!
This has to be the best and most impressive remaster/HD port ever put out by Nintendo. I haven't been this wowed by a game's graphics since playing Mario Kart 8 for the first time in 2015 or 16, and it's for a 2002 game! This is yet another major W for Metroid, and proves that Prime 4 is gonna look absolutely stunning when it finally comes out.
Never played the original or the Wii ports despite owning the launch Wii with the backwards compatibility so I'm looking forward to getting this game when the physical release drops.

As someone new for the metroid series . At first i was skeptical why does metroid dread received so much loved and even won game of the year That time i hadn’t been interested to try the game because it just looked old and i didn’t think that i would like this type of game But thankfully i give it a shot and i can understand now why its so popular. Now its become one of my favorites games on the switch. From that point i was telling my self to not judge book by its cover Therefore i will definitely try this metroid prime especially after watching your video , i can definitely see how excited you are 😁
I absolutely loved this game growing up. When I saw it at Walmart after not even knowing it was remastered I instantly bought it. This definitely brought me back to this unbelievable game. A game that sets a standard on the amount of content should be in a story mode at launch.
Just finished it, was great, the only thing I would have liked to see improved was the map, it would have been helpful if you could high light areas that you knew you had to go back too, quite a few times I was wandering around aimlessly trying to find a an area I could open up now but I couldn’t find it again for ages. If I could have changed the colour to that room so I knew I had to go back at some point it would have been a great help
This is a amazing shadow drop. Excited to download. The fact they are giving a duel stick scheme is great. The biggest issue I had with original was the controls always felt wrong wonky. I imagine the infuriating Ridley battle will be somewhat more manageable.
I think I only picked up my switch a couple of times since getting a steam deck. Metroid Prime has got me playing on my switch again. On an OLED screen whether docked or handheld the game looks incredible. I’ll double dip and get the physical copy as well.
I'll be getting it when it comes out physically. I already have it in gamecube, and have added the HD texture packs on dolphin. But I'm excited to see it properly remastered. Plus fir the price, its a no brainer. Id love to see more gamecube games remastered. Still patienty waiting for Twilight Princess and Windwaker on Switch. There is no excuse why they haven't been released on Switch yet. It would also really please me if the Rogue Squadron games came out on Switch. I believe its a licensing issue there. Im excited for the future of Nintendo, and I'm glad they are embracing their history of great games.
Im playing metroid prime for the first time ever on the switch and it already became one of my favorite games ever, the world building and the way the exploration goes just put me in a flow state, crazy stuff.
Motion aiming in dual stick scheme is the best. It's amazing how you can customize things like aiming correction in lock on mode. I have right stick locked with motion enabled for that.
Picked this up yrsterday and I'm very happy with it. It feels great, looks great and it's a next level remaster. From the cinematics, to the new textures, to the minute details, it's mind blowing!
I preordered the Physical Copy of this game so quickly. I can’t wait to try it out. The funny thing, I can tell, is that so many people are probably going to Double Dip and end up spending $80 for one game. And they won’t even complain about it. They’ll be happy to spend that much. Sure, it’s 2 copies, but it goes to show, if you put forth an incredible effort, people WILL toss money at you. They’ll applaud you with cash.
It's just so beautiful, it doesn't feel like a switch game, it just shows the switch at its highest and It just shows how much love retro has for the game. I love how they didn't just do a mario 3d all-stars and just simply port it

I'll admit that although I loved so many gamecube games back in the day, this game slipped thru the cracks and I only lightly ventured into it. I couldn't put Metroid dread down. So now imagine my reaction when they announced this remaster on the direct. I downloaded immediately and haven't looked back and about 4hrs in. I'm loving this remaster it's beautiful looking game and now can only fantasy of how Metroid 4 will look like. This is worth every penny

They didn't just redo the textures, this was a full rebuild from the ground up, new models, geometry, particle physics, everything, all while paying extreme care to maintaining the feel of the original.
I've been waiting for this game for so long, and now it's finally here! I cannot express how thrilled I am with what Retro has accomplished. I really hope we get this treatment for 2 and corruption, I am ok with waiting for Prime 4 if we get the rest of the series

They actually redid everything all models all maps, new engine, but made it feel as the original, I am at 6 hrs in and its gorgeous

Agreed 100%. One of my favorite games. Ahead of it's time on Gamecube. Played it again on the Trilogy. Saw the Direct and was like, "I'm gonna get the physical." That thought didn't last long. Couldn't stop thinking about it and bought the digital last night. Pure joy and awe while playing it. I'm very happy they did this. Hoping for Remasters of 2 and 3 (3 moreso than 2) and super psyched for 4 (someday). Keep up the great content, brother!

Nintendo is really good at making games that stay at a constant FPS. Playing Witcher 3 remake, and its always dipping way below 60fps. Prime Remastered never dips.

I saw the announcement and bought it immediately. And I was absolutely stunned at how amazing it looks. Retro Studios went above and beyond to give this masterpiece the treatment it deserves. Easily one of my top 5 greatest games of all time!!! Everyone who loves video games needs to buy this. It’s a classic that needs to be enjoyed by everyone.

My expectations were bare minimum when I first heard the rumors about this remaster, but after watching the trailer and playing though the entire game, I’ve been blown away. I’ve noticed so many details that I never saw on the original even after playing the Prime games a dozen times. And I continue to be blown away at how a game this gorgeous can run on the Switch. I hope the rest of the industry takes notes, because *this* is how you do a remaster right. I really hope 2 and 3 get this same treatment, because those games deserve the same love this did. And if this is a taste of what Metroid Prime 4 will look like? We are in for a treat!

After playing my all time favorite for a few hours I felt like crying of joy. I’m so happy to be able to play it again. Like you said: it’s gorgeous. The devs did a great job!

I was blown away at the visuals of this remaster! MP was the very first Metroid game I ever played, so it has a special place in my heart. Just the opening notes of the music at the start menu had me whooshed back to 2002. This remaster is amazing. I couldn't wait for the physical copy so I purchased the digital...but I also prefer physical copies, so I will be buying the physical as well when it comes out, lol.
The physical copy sold out so I'm disappointed. I'm thinking of buying the digital and the physical when it's available xD

As a diehard Metroid fan and a huge Prime fan, this remake has me impressed. They went through the trouble of making all new assets and models for the entire game, yet it’s still the same game at its core. It’s very nearly a remake(I consider it a remake more than a remaster).
It’s also somehow one of the best looking games on the Switch, but I’m a few hours in and everything looks so gorgeous. Phendrana drifts is my favorite area, the snow crunches under Samus feet now. It’s worth $40 for sure.

It is simply one of best games ever made. Still. I recently played through it again on steam deck through Primehack after 20 years, and it was emotional. This game is timeless and still holds up. Better yet, it eclipses many, many modern games. Seeing this gorgeous remaster/remake makes me want to play it yet again. Never experienced this game? I envy you.
Even you saying they redid the textures and character models is an understatement, maps were redone, added more detail with extra design choices and everything!

I've always wanted to play the original and was shy of emulation since I have an insane habit of old school roms. I knew this game was a masterpiece and seeing it like this makes me know why.

I was going to buy this game when the physical version releases, but now you got me excited for it!
I remember getting the original on the GameCube for my bday a couple a weeks after release. Such an amazing game that I beat it twice within a month. I also have very fond memories of Metroid Prime 2, imo just as good but definitely took the difficulty up a notch. I hope we get a remaster of part 2 as well. I'll be buying the physical copy as I still own the original GameCube games. Also this remaster looks like one of the best looking games on Switch from a graphics standpoint.
I agree, this was probably one of the best Nintendo remakes in recent memory. It makes me hopeful for when/if they put out a Wind Waker Remake. I bought it instantly when it was announced digitally and I plan on getting a hard cover copy as well.
I would prefer twilight Princess to get a proper remake.

I got this the moment direct finished. I own the originals, and this is absolutely incredible. Best remaster I have ever seen. 60fps on switch looking like this? Insane.
The graphics from original has aged really fine after 20 years. This remaster just proved Retro Studios were wizards back in the day when developed the game.

Yup, instantly downloaded as soon as I saw "Metroid Prime Remastered", didn't even look at the promo. Just logged in and downloaded. And I will also get the physical release when available.
I'm playing docked on a 32" 2K LED and with Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers and Pro Controller, simply amazing!! Blown away when I entered Phendrana Drifts!! Love that a flick of the controller lets the Morph Ball hop, like on Wii. Makes the wall puzzles much easier than timing things with a bomb.
I really want this game, but I'm holding out for the physical release. It looks so sick! Especially after Metroid: Dread converted me to a Metroid fan single handedly.

It’s definitely a remaster that is so good it almost feels like a Remake. So crisp.
I bought it immediately after the direct ended, and I enjoyed everything. It's what I put down Splatoon 3 to the side for this childhood game on my GameCube, which I still possess! First seeing it in the direct I was in tears of joy and called my brother to let him know this came out, 2023 is starting off amazing with remasters this year!
This has to be the best and most impressive remaster/HD port ever put out by Nintendo. I haven't been this wowed by a game's graphics since playing Mario Kart 8 for the first time in 2015 or 16, and it's for a 2002 game! This is yet another major W for Metroid, and proves that Prime 4 is gonna look absolutely stunning when it finally comes out.

Never played the original or the Wii ports despite owning the launch Wii with the backwards compatibility so I'm looking forward to getting this game when the physical release drops.

It's beautifully done! They put so much work into the game. Honestly one of the best looking games on the Switch. I hope strong sales of Prime pushes Nintendo to do similar remasters of 2 and 3 (before a grand release of 4).
As someone new for the metroid series . At first i was skeptical why does metroid dread received so much loved and even won game of the year
That time i hadn’t been interested to try the game because it just looked old and i didn’t think that i would like this type of game
But thankfully i give it a shot and i can understand now why its so popular. Now its become one of my favorites games on the switch. From that point i was telling my self to not judge book by its cover
Therefore i will definitely try this metroid prime especially after watching your video , i can definitely see how excited you are 😁

I absolutely loved this game growing up. When I saw it at Walmart after not even knowing it was remastered I instantly bought it. This definitely brought me back to this unbelievable game. A game that sets a standard on the amount of content should be in a story mode at launch.
Just finished it, was great, the only thing I would have liked to see improved was the map, it would have been helpful if you could high light areas that you knew you had to go back too, quite a few times I was wandering around aimlessly trying to find a an area I could open up now but I couldn’t find it again for ages. If I could have changed the colour to that room so I knew I had to go back at some point it would have been a great help
Some kind of marking system for the map would be insanely useful and I hope they do that for Metroid prime 4

This is a amazing shadow drop. Excited to download. The fact they are giving a duel stick scheme is great. The biggest issue I had with original was the controls always felt wrong wonky. I imagine the infuriating Ridley battle will be somewhat more manageable.
I think I only picked up my switch a couple of times since getting a steam deck. Metroid Prime has got me playing on my switch again. On an OLED screen whether docked or handheld the game looks incredible.

I'll be getting it when it comes out physically. I already have it in gamecube, and have added the HD texture packs on dolphin. But I'm excited to see it properly remastered. Plus fir the price, its a no brainer. Id love to see more gamecube games remastered. Still patienty waiting for Twilight Princess and Windwaker on Switch. There is no excuse why they haven't been released on Switch yet. It would also really please me if the Rogue Squadron games came out on Switch. I believe its a licensing issue there. Im excited for the future of Nintendo, and I'm glad they are embracing their history of great games.
Im playing metroid prime for the first time ever on the switch and it already became one of my favorite games ever, the world building and the way the exploration goes just put me in a flow state, crazy stuff.

Motion aiming in dual stick scheme is the best. It's amazing how you can customize things like aiming correction in lock on mode. I have right stick locked with motion enabled for that.
Picked this up yrsterday and I'm very happy with it. It feels great, looks great and it's a next level remaster. From the cinematics, to the new textures, to the minute details, it's mind blowing!
I hadn't played my switch for a year. Only this game could have rekindle that relationship.

I preordered the Physical Copy of this game so quickly. I can’t wait to try it out. The funny thing, I can tell, is that so many people are probably going to Double Dip and end up spending $80 for one game. And they won’t even complain about it. They’ll be happy to spend that much. Sure, it’s 2 copies, but it goes to show, if you put forth an incredible effort, people WILL toss money at you. They’ll applaud you with cash.
It's just so beautiful, it doesn't feel like a switch game, it just shows the switch at its highest and It just shows how much love retro has for the game. I love how they didn't just do a mario 3d all-stars and just simply port it

I'll admit that although I loved so many gamecube games back in the day, this game slipped thru the cracks and I only lightly ventured into it. I couldn't put Metroid dread down. So now imagine my reaction when they announced this remaster on the direct. I downloaded immediately and haven't looked back and about 4hrs in. I'm loving this remaster it's beautiful looking game and now can only fantasy of how Metroid 4 will look like. This is worth every penny

They didn't just redo the textures, this was a full rebuild from the ground up, new models, geometry, particle physics, everything, all while paying extreme care to maintaining the feel of the original.
I loved Metroid prime three corruption when I played it on the Wii aiming around like I was Sam us that control scheme was awesome

I've been waiting for this game for so long, and now it's finally here! I cannot express how thrilled I am with what Retro has accomplished. I really hope we get this treatment for 2 and corruption, I am ok with waiting for Prime 4 if we get the rest of the series
