Going a little bigger ( 6-7 inch props) may be beneficial for your use case because you dont really need the agility of a 5inch freestyler. Extra flight time and smoothness being the benefits.
Damn...at the end you redeemed yourself. I fell off my chair twice with a few of your close calls. That shot under the wing(plane was on the ground) was SICK!!!

Thanks for explaining the safety aspect, I’ve tracked a buddy in his helicopter before using a mavic 2 zoom (stayed well behind him) Footage looked incredible!
Been playing a bunch of msfs recently and I came across your channel. Never realized how much fun bush flying can be even if it’s in in a sim. Love your videos I can’t get enough of them! You’re definitely living the dream
If you don't want to go flying after watching that...I don't think you have a heart! Amazing! This is the reason I can't wait for the next video. Love it!
Definitely go with a 7” long range mountain surfing type rig...55-65 cruise speed and 15minutes flights...like someone said below, don’t need the 5 inch agility and they aren’t the most efficient for your use
great shots, the agility of the drone platform creates a very different visual presentation from the fixed wing to fixed wing perspective that we are used to. This is a great blend of aviation and videographer skills/art.
Amazing footage!! I'm sure like 80 people have said it - but that flat mount antenna somewhat under the arms can really bite you. And so can sitting down with the TX in your lap where your legs block the TX antenna. Standing up can really help RF quality. But just moving the RX antenna to away from the frame (ideally on the front) and away from carbon does help a tonnnn. Vertical helps mostly because you're less likely to point the nulls at yourself than with horizontal.
Wow. This was a treat for the eyes.. 10:26 was so beautiful. And loved when you told "if you don't do anything about it and expect it to fly this time, you are an idiot " lol
Trent I am a first timer this video of flying is cinema quality! Hell I felt like I was flying right along side excellent VIDEO, thanks for all your time that you guys put into making this for everyone to enjoy. Thanks
The new DJI FPV drone with do over 90 mph. Nice work Mr Palmer ! You make it look easy !! The drone thru the prop thing is real. Losing a prop in flight results in imbalance so severe that the engine is usually torn from the firewall.
During last tow years, I had my licence, I bought a Kitfox, a gopro 9, an insta 360, I bought too an incredible number of T shirts and hats with plane on them, all my friends are pilots now, and my new website is on squarespace, so Trent, please, tell me : do I have to buy a drone ?!! 😅 (or a sunron motorcycle) I’m lost !🤪 thank you for so much fun !
Lol Trent you crack me up with the drone, but hey we all have a bad days some times but I still love what you do. God bless all you guys until the next one.
You should try a 6 or 7in quad. For the elevation you fly at, and the climatic flying you do (and the battery life you're not getting) they're perfect. I fly around Denver, and I love 6 and 7 in. They have so much more top end speed from the extra weight and thrust, it makes it way easier to keep up when chasing vehicles.
That's so cool man, love the chasing stuff but limited myself on rc planes and more recently to motocross bikes, was an awesome experience. I can only imagine the feeling of chasing one buddy in a real plane, well done!!
Only been flying for about 2 years now and it may not look like this all the time, but dang does it feel like it every time I'm up there. Amazing camera work you're doing it there Trent, best way I've found to show friends what flying is about.
Use a 7 inch drone. They have more thrust which gives your more speed, and you can put on larger batteries for longer flight time. I enjoyed watching that chase footage!
Thank you for being such an inspiration to young pilots. I ALWAYS send them to your channel for great content on what flying can be. Keep it up my friend. You touch more new aviators every day.
6:25 Trent's brother brings the RF signal jammer out of his pocket with an evil smile... I was curious if the drone felt any effects from the prop wash, but you scooted back and forth above/level/below the tail and never bounced a bit. Cool.
Trent, at 3:27 it looks like your goggles are in channel 8. That's the public channel, switching to an actual channel will give you better reception and range. Love the video, beautiful!
Trent, the problem with these big H-frame quads is that they get a lot draggier as they tilt forward. Try holding one out the window of your car at 60-70mph and tilt it from flat to forward 45 degrees and you'll see the drag is much higher, and the negative angle of attack of the flat arms actually produces downforce. That new fatter Hero9 doesn't help at all either, which is why I still use the Hero7. A lot of race quads use a more compact X configuration with thinner arms (narrower but thicker) and of course aren't dragging the GoPro around. My buddy has a 6S iFlight XL7. Its H-frame body is shorter than one on your quad. It's just long enough for GoPro (has custom 3D printed mount to hold it far enough forward while still allowing it to tilt way back) and uses two 6S 1300mAh batteries stacked vertically. It's quite fast (will do about 95mph) and he consistently gets a lot more flight time than my classic H-frame iFlight DC5.
Going a little bigger ( 6-7 inch props) may be beneficial for your use case because you dont really need the agility of a 5inch freestyler. Extra flight time and smoothness being the benefits.
Agreed
Definitely, longer legs would help out a bit.
A high performance 7" might be able to keep up
And bi blades all day for more speed
I Concur. 7 inch is the sweet spot for speed needed for these sorts of missions. 6S R-Line LiPo packs with that will achieve success.
I can't tell if Trent's channel is making me want to buy a bushplane or a FPV-drone or both lol. Awesome footage!
Shouldn't it be squarespace? :D
Damn...at the end you redeemed yourself. I fell off my chair twice with a few of your close calls. That shot under the wing(plane was on the ground) was SICK!!!
For charity, you should auction off "A Day with Trent"
That would bring in some serious cash.
That is actually a grate idea. Give the person that wins a camera so we can experience it through him.
Absolutely!
Or is that "A day in Knee Pads with Trent"?

Time for me to get a plane and come hang out with you guys.
Nice seeing you out and about..
i dream of having a plane and living out in alaska
Nice to see you guys watching a aviation channel
@@johnwoodruff7207 I watch aviation because I also fly experimental and also drones
@@beetlebailey nice. I want to get a bush plane. But I’m a few years away from it. Runways get boring after awhile
@2:36 - Wondering what kind of advanced tech the guy is putting together.
@3:00 - Oh. It's a chair.
😐
Trent, that footage is amazing. The under wing pass on the parked plane out to the taxi. That was smooooth!!! Love it!
Wow, Mike Patey absolutely needs you to provide footage of Scrappy in the air when he's finished which isn't too far away now!
Man those are some next level shots.
Thanks for explaining the safety aspect, I’ve tracked a buddy in his helicopter before using a mavic 2 zoom (stayed well behind him)

I have no idea how your channel doesn't have several million subs
Maybe do a collab with Tucker Gott - he seems to have the goodwill of the mighty algorithm gods.
Frickin incredible!!! Great job!! Feels like you’re a wing suit following behind.. really appreciate this footage!!

You make it look deceptively easy. Beautifully filmed, and amazing colours. Prop wash didn't seem to affect it at all! Brilliant.
Thank you so much for promoting the FPV hobby like this!
This is way too awesome! Visuals so crispy great flying all round.
You’ve got the best life of anyone I know man! I love this content, thanks for sharing!
Love that blue and yellow on the Kitfox.

Using a chase line with camera is better than a drone :) And also you can change the length and direction if is electronic :)

I do this with my mates with rc planes and we always end up hitting each other.
But we still do it. It's just too much fun!
Awesome video Trent!
That is some fancy flying...! I’d try to go with 7” props. Higher cruise speed + more flight time! Great for high speed following.
That....was crazy. Spectacular footage.

WOWOW!!! Literally the best flight shots I’ve ever seen. And a whole lot cheaper than using an AS350B3 with a UltraMedia HD system.
Great angles. Great composition. Great lighting. Nice job Trent!
your videos are the best because it crosses the 'TH-camr' production into legit professional producer. Never stop making these!
Excellent piloting skills! I appreciate your disclaimer at the beginning. The GoPro has impressive image stabilization.
Great film, love this, so beautifully shot and edited! Need to get some FPV footage behind my Ercoupe!

I'm amazed at how well that drone handles the prop wash😲. Its very stable.
