- Its been a long time since NFS Most Wanted 2005 has been released. It Turns out that it holds up pretty well and it is still better than all of the average modern day NFS Games we have in terms of gameplay and entertainment.
Like Look at the Police in this game and the radio dialogues. Easily the best in the series. I bet NFS Unbound Cops Won't be anywhere as good as these guys are. Because Heat was not. The only reason why in heat you would get caught is if you ran out of health or a killswitch. Here, These guys box you in and have REAL tactics to arrest you. Not to mention that helicopter was actually useful. I hope the 2 helicopters in unbound are good like this. We also need Pursuit breakers back too.

It still amazes me how well done the voice lines for the cops are.
Sometimes it just feels like the game itself is sentient and generating the voice lines on the fly according to the situation.

This is by far the last great NFS game. Everything about Most Wanted just keeps me going back to it. The songs, the enemy AI, how the gameplay is so smooth, it's just the best in its kind..

Carbon, Hot Pursuit, Most Wanted 2012, World? Hell, I even had more fun with Undercover than with MW
it's great but has some rough edges, mostly involving getting stuck by physics objects from pursuit breakers
1 hour 54 minutes and 13 seconds was my longest pursuit ever. I didn’t escape but my god it was the most intense moment of gaming I’ve ever had. My best escape is a little over an hour

Badass dude. It took me a lot of tries to beat Razor's pursuit length record on the rep sheet. Just a lot of bullshit can happen and suddenly you're stuck in between a dozen cop cars with nowhere to go. Plus I don't think I was using the best car for pursuits lol
Its fun to play this game because once the heat is really high, It's like you are the only thing that matters to them which is really heart pounding, Their desperation on catching you. Nfsmw is still at its finest.

I still remember deliberately prolonging chases just for the fun of it and I'd only once set my longest pursuit at 2 hours. I was 16 back then and in high school. Good times. I miss it
Do you remember near rockport entry there is a tunnel on the highway and on top of it there are trees.? You could stay near the end of it and the cops on the highway did not know how to access where you were (on top of the tunnel). You could let the pursuit play for so long like that

It was a challenge that I had set to myself…
And I’ve been caught once the hour was reached.
I was pissed… But I had a good time.
Why ? The difficulty of this game is balanced like no other one… And whenever the difficulty reaches its peak… You know that, any mistake can be the last one. Best racing game ever, in my opinion… And, best cops’ AI ever made in a NFS video game. ( I was playing it on PS2… This system was AMAZING. 🤩🤩🤩)
I once challenged the cops how long would they take them to catch me on top of the bus station... It was hilarious how the helicopter was the one trying to throw me off the parking roof, i don't remember how much time i was there but Heat 5 was hella fun with Suvs and Cross charging at the others
Totally. I was doing the same thing, I had a record of an hour and a half and I wanted to do more. I had set out to do 3 hours and when I did, after several arrests, the satisfaction I felt was fantastic. The Lamborghini in the video is not a good car for chases, the best and my favorite is the Cobalt SS, that car is unbeatable.

Exactly. You could raise your score, but if you were caught, you were busted by the cops, and you could lose all your progression. Yup. No auto save for this part of the game. And like in the real life, “real consequences” for messing up with the cops ! 😂😂😂
Then you stick to highway and come to stadium for cd when the challenges are reached.
Imagine a proper remake of this game or a continued story with MostWanted2 with like Raytracing and new cars and more customizations and other stuff. But knowing how EA operates they will fuck it up 100%
Need for speed carbon is the sequel to this game it countinues the story and at the begining the racer has a bmw m3 and they tryed to make most wanted 2 (in iceburg) but canecled it and its now Need for speed Most Wanted (2012) edit juat fixing some things
Lol. Most Wanted 2 was plain garbage. The only aspect it excelled on was the graphics. But yeah, imagine if this Most Wanted got an official remake with modern day graphics. A game that has an actual end and no DLCs You pay once, you play forever. Today's games are nothing short of cashcows.

Man the nostalgia.. I remember playing this as a kid and my first time reaching the peak difficulty. For some reason it was scary and my body would shake but at the same time pumped. I lasted a good 20 minutes though lol. If you mess up literally one time it’s all over.
Man, the adrenaline pump was insane, even just from watching the video...I had limited experience of NFS in my childhood, but it's probably the most intense game I played aside from far cry 3
Totally, used to be scared shitless playing this at 8-9 years old. I got a box set of NFS underground 1&2 and MW with my ps2 for Christmas. I was actually scared of MW at first, but once I played underground 2 got decent at racing I started MW and loved the thrill.
The first time as a kid I felt my body shooking for a game.... It was really intense game 🔥
Bro I would drive at 40mph while obeying the traffic lights cuz I was scared of being impounded 😭😭😭
One of my favorite memories in this game was when I lost nearly all my tires and the police were pinning the car against the side wall that I almost threw my hands up to surrender. But just when I was about to give up I saw in the distance the destructible icon and slowly crawled against the barrier and into the falling terrain which destroyed all the police (and actually got my vehicle stuck) and allowed me to escape. The amount of calories I burned from pure stress I couldn't fathom.

The effort put into the cop jargon over the radio and AI creates genuine urgency the moment you smash that first cop car into peace’s. I love how the developers made the physics lean towards hilarity. Every modern need for speed game treats car physics like dead weight, killing the fun factor of cop chases. Why they ever thought to stray away from this boggles my mind.

Modern NFS games have the cops voice lines be like blood thirsty killers but the chases are easy AF. 05, the cop dialogues were professional and cold but when they chased you, you knew that shit was going to be hard to shake off.

The best thing about this game is when you're in cooldown on Heat 6 or more and the tension about the cops finding you
6 or more? Max lvl was 5 except for the very last escape chase in the BMW which was 6 and select blacklist challenges

I can't agree. Rivals is the only NFS game that reaches up to Heat Level 10 as it's maximum. Despite that MW 2005 had the aggressive cops, the sheer amount of cops chasing you in Rivals is just scary, because they are driving hyper cars that can wreck the shit out of you with their weapons of war. ESF, Shockwave, Shock Ram, EMP, like literally it's Hot Pursuit on steroids.
No one can beat this game...sad they didn't come up with the remastered version.

The thing about pursuits is that they get boring, and broken from the beginning. But in the end..it’s just endless, stressful, and overwhelming. I love it.

I remember playing this in highschool with the class. We'd start the highest level pursuit challenge and see who could escape the cops. None of us could, but it was so much fun
You can actually feel the speed when going over 140 which is missing in a lot of modern games.
You should've seen how it was on a steering wheel with vibration feedback. That was INTENSE.
I don't know how they did it but this is by far the best NFS game.

I could never reach that level of difficulty in the game. I got as high as #4 on the charts but that was the extent of my skills. That was an incredible effort.

There are 2 mechanics that I love from NFS franchise. Mostwanted mechanics and Hot Pursuit Mechanics. Even though I actually love Rivals more, Hot Pursuit is the one who invented it.

Switched on my old notebook after 7 years, i left it at Razor, tried to pass bounty level and got chills, adrenaline and my palms sweaty, man what a game.
I’ve played this game and used its many cars, but I still love my maxed out Cobalt SS, really good performer. Blacklist was completed with it.
Cobalt SS, mi favorite too... 3 hours on pursuit and unbeatable in races. It's perfect.

Damn at :4:49 that was so close. It brought me back to where I had numerous moments like that, and then I just went full protagonist mode and was like "it isn't over yet!" *Throws it into reverse, then first gear and burns the hell outta there*. It's even more fun and challenging at high heat levels when you drive a manual transmission.
SOmetimes the gear just stuck and wont shift up so i have to do it manually.
This was my favorite game in high school! I remember playing for hours with my brother, *it really sparks warm memories to randomly see it again after almost 2 decades* 😮🤩🙌

I remember playing the hell out of this game. This way the last game I play on my old RBG tv. When I upgraded to my first HDtv and bought NFS Carbon and play on it. It was like something of next gen. The cheapest HDtv back than was around $800 and up and only do 720p at the time.

My best 2 cars i always use for pursuit endurance in NFS MOST WANTED:
- Evo VIII (which won from the game)
- Impreza WRX STi
When this game came out it was my new favorite in 2005 and even till now no other game beats this one 17 years playing this game and never got bored once. If you want to laugh and change your bad day to a good day play this game because it defenitely will make you laugh.
And to point this out back in the good old days cops actually used to shoot out your tyres on this game do not know if you all know about it but it used to be a thing back then.

Here's a tip, if you park in the right spot above the bus station the police will never catch you and you can keep the pursuit active indefinitely. That's the best way to get all the bounty you need for the whole game from one pursuit.

I remember dealing with that aggressive helicopter it was crazy, one day I was driving in a tunnel and at the end of the tunnel there was a roadblock with the helicopter, I was very surprised so I try to rammed it but it didn't do anything and got busted ahahah
That’s rare, I’ve had it happen in the highway around the golf course and also rammed into it thinking I’d actually push it out, but instant stop. That chopper is heavy
theres one moment where i saw a rig happen to hit the chopper that was roadblocking, of course the chopper did not budge but the rig was glitching. It suddenly clipped through the road below and only the nose appeared.
YES the crazy helicopter i got it to be in a roadblock too! And got busted too... I swear MW's helicopter can't be compared to other games, this one is hella crazy
Never happened to me before but i did encounter a behavior with it, while you are driving at high speeds on the highway it will lower itself to the road and try ramming you and if it rams your car, your car flips easily
