      o k too be honest you did not tell anyone what scores the Forzas after that got. Forza 6 got a 87 which is still extremely high as well as forza 7 with 86 points. For a horizon 3 and 4 got 92 points.. it is one of the highest scores forza has ever gotten. But of course people need to shit on a game because of repetitive gameplay. I honestly think that a hybrid between both forza would be the best solution to this problem.

    I miss the first 4 Forza games. The series had an edge, it had something to prove. It was the new kid on the block that tried to be the exciting, fun alternative to Gran Turismo, and it absolutely succeeded. Now with 7, the series feels a bit lifeless. At least the Horizon series still has that spark, but it makes me a little sad considering Motorsport 3 and 4 are some of my all time favorite racing games.

    I remember back in middle school where I was one of the few kids that owned an Xbox 360. Having titles such as Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Crackdown, Forza Motorsport 2, Transformers: The Game, and Stuntman: Ignition,
    Being the overly-friendly people person, I invited a few of my buddies for a weekend gaming session.

      It was a nightmare to keep getting the red ring of death on the original models of the Xbox 360! Thankfully the 2010 model addresses that issue, but I'm still afraid to have it running for too long, though not as much as the first few years of having it.

    too bad you cant review the online portion of these games anymore.
    They were excellent online. You could create your own server/lobby and fine tune everything to your liking and even 'lock' your server/lobby to your country/region. Next to that, you could find lobbies within your region, or outside your region if you wish. (But this would cause lots of lag for everyone).
    This game was my introduction to the Forza Motorsport series, I bought the limited edition and fell absolutely in love with the game and every sequal (except Forza 5 & 6) after that.

    Great review. You are seeing why quite a few people didnt mind passing up on the GT games and instead playing the Forza games.
    Take for example what you mentioned about all Sim racers: They get boring pretty quickly. The developers obviously understood this and made their focus on the online/multiplayer aspect. This is what hooked me in a way that the GT games never could. I personally modify my cars in real life.
    Being able to buy and modify the exact car i have in real life to a very similar spec that my real life car had and then race them online against other modified cars!? That was like a dream! Or maybe doing that exact thing to what our dream cars were, for example R34 GTR or the MkIV supra.
    The developers were able to make the boy racer AND the adult enthusiast partake in a socially fluent way that wasnt normally possible.

    If you find racing sims boring after 30 minutes... Then you don't like racing sims. The whole point of driving sims is to get better, every time you go around a track. And that is going to take a shit-ton more time than 30 minutes. But trust me, if you do like racing sims, every time you make that 0.5 second improvement, you FEEL it. It is very rewarding, and satisfying.

I never had a Xbone so I've never got to play the next gen forzas but I'm really thinking of switching back to Xbox for the series X. I think it's gonna be the winner this gen with Xbone having an abysmal go this gen. Microsoft will undoubtedly make up for it next gen. I played Forza 2 everyday for months back in 07-08. But Horizon 2 was simply my favorite because to me the car list was nearly perfect (could use more volvo's) and the map, no matter where you went it was always fun to drive
      Horizon 3 had a few more volvos which i liked but the map was horrible...horizon 1 was also fun but there weren't that many cars that we're very fast compared to horizon 2, personally the only motorsports I've had is 4 and 5 but I forgot to bring home motorsport 4 when I was on vacation a few years ago (and I had only played for like an hour so I don't remember anything)
      Last time I was at GameStop they had a few used copies of limited edition motorsports but I decided to get rock band 4 instead as it was cheaper, I was hungry and finding a copy of rock band 4 that doesn't cost like 100$ for just the disc in Sweden is the same thing as trying find a lowmile stock Toyota Supra in perfect condition for less than 10000$

  • @innoclarke7435
    @innoclarke7435 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Ah, man. You mention that 'one car' that tends to just pull ahead of the pack to a ludicrous extent. Get used to that. I've also played FM3, FM4, and FM6 and they ALL have that once you get to a certain difficulty... which is bad, because [1] why haven't they fixed that (I doubt they fixed it in Forza 7) after all this time [2] it completely throws off the difficulty balancing, meaning you either get cheated out of a deserved win, or you lower the difficulty and win with ease.

    • @Thechildishmandingo
      @Thechildishmandingo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Inno Clarke 7 is just as bad especially if you race with the drivatars on unbeatable mode like I don I feel like there’s a lot of rubber banding too because it seems like no matter how long a race is if you can consistently keep your pace within a second or so of the leaders best lap you’ll almost always catch up in the last couple of laps

    • @maynardburger
      @maynardburger 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Forza 7, they've basically made 'Unbeatable' a new, higher difficulty from before, where the cars get artificial boosts in power(rather than just improved AI), making some races really frustrating, especially on oval-based tracks. However, they've recently introduced new redefined track limits for every single track and it seems that it has slowed the AI a tad, to where I can win pretty much any race fairly easily since they back off on more corners than they did before.

    • @bbc6rgf57ytty5yxyw5gt
      @bbc6rgf57ytty5yxyw5gt 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually it's because the fastest AI has the best car, but I wouldn't be surprised if that AI has other bonuses too.

    • @innoclarke7435
      @innoclarke7435 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, even when I've made sure I have the best car, that bastard just pulls in times that are way too quick compared to every other car in the field, despite being in the same class. I have not even the slightest doubt that the AI gets some 'bonuses'.
      Interestingly, Microsoft's other, now-abandoned racing game series, PGR, had a similar problem with balance, though even worse. For one, if you were on easy difficulty, the game was pathetically easy. I've oftentimes people say that you could almost win even if you drove backwards. On hard, the game was brutally, obviously unfair. On normal, it went from a bit too easy to "Fuck you," depending on event. Races were on the easier side. All of the other challenges, minus hitting the cones, hated you.
      But hey, in the words of Ross Scott of Accursed Farms:
      "If you can't beat this campaign [The Crew 2], you're going to have trouble beating a lot of driving games. That is *not* a complaint. I will take 'too easy' *any day* over 'too hard', since there is *no* ceiling as to how hard a driving game can get. *NONE.*"

    • @leahtofu

    Good review. Your videos do a good job of capturing why these games are so liked in the first place.
    Did you know that Robin Frijns (the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 and 2018 Bathurst 12 Hour champion) actually said that this was the most realistic game in the series? Considering the precision required in this game, he certainly isn't wrong.
    Does anyone else miss the ability to race against real life race car drivers as AI opponents in the newer Forzas? To me, there is just something seriously cool about racing a Corvette C6.R actually driven by Olivier Beretta or an Audi LMP actually being driven by Tom Kristensen. Since Turn 10 and the game's featured championships seem to have a good relationship, I'm surprised it no longer extends this far.
    I would also love for the ability to buy licensed car parts like K&N air filters or Bosch spark plugs to return.

    bro im not sure if I agree with the controller vs wheel thing. I play fine on controller with assists off on every popular sim aswell as the wheel, and I like both. The wheel is more realistic(and fun), but it doesn't allow for better control necessarily. I mean steering a car is a semi-binary action (left, right) so the controller isnt lacking as long as steering is analog. the best driving games make you forget youre on controller

    • @maynardburger
      @maynardburger 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yep, you could drive just fine with all aids off on controller in Forza. That's how I've always done it(been playing since the first one) and am pretty good. And it's not like I dedicated my life to practicing, they are simply *really* good gamepad controls. Meanwhile, wheel support has never been great in Forza titles, at least up until the very recent update for Forza Motorsport 7, where they've completely outdone themselves and made it genuinely good(better than Gran Turismo, but not quite on the level of more dedicated sims). But even with this great new update in Forza 7, using a controller with all aids off is still entirely viable and many of the top of the top racers use gamepads.

F3, and F4 (still king) are a tad better, but they all ditched the original progression and went with a calendar/world tour type progression. Also, getting cars in F3/4 was fast and convenient but way too easy. Apples and oranges, I guess.

But I really enjoyed the way the cars handled, loved the CarPG mechanics, and the customization was fantastic. It was also the first time I got to use custom soundtracks in a racing game, which was amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend much time with the game, since my 360 died in less than a year, and I didn't want to keep dealing with dead consoles so I ditched the 360 brand. To download photos, it is not in this part of the website. The easiest way is on the Forza Hub app for Windows 10 or on the Gallery button inside the Community tab in the official website. These links are landing pages to people buy the game and such. I dont know if you can upload Photos anymore, but the Forza Levels do count since 2. Forza Levels are a feature that gives money every friday on the game based on how Forza games you played (gamerscore, distance driven and many more stats), for example, I played Forza Horizon 2,3 and 4 and Motorsport 5 and 7 (i played before but i didnt had an xbox at the time) on my account and gain 250.000 cr every week. Only the first Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox 360 (the Xbox One version count as normal) dont work in this loyalty program of sorts.

I made some friends through online drifting lobbies, learned about proper tuning and car culture and even met my online friends at multiple drift events throughout the UK. Genuinely, I owe a lot to this game and Forza as a franchise in general.

    Still my favorite Forza game... menus were quick and seemless... Didn't care for the new design from 3 on which slowed everything down intentionally or otherwise.
    Still have my 95% completion on my original xbox.
    Also like the new games there were car packs you could purchase, or get VIP which gave you everything. This quickly changed in 3 moving forward.

    Man I really had a strong nostalgia overflow because I chose European region and bought a dark red VW Corrado too. We had the exact the same Corrado in real life but had to sell it for reasons. Still a great car.

    The driving experience may have been better in GT but the sheer amount of customization in forza 2 was astounding. You could make your eg6 civic rear wheel drive and a s13 awd it was amazing. They also had actual bodykits and not just the most basic front/rear splitter and 2 ugly wings for all cars like in gt5

    Forza Motorsport 2: The only racing game to have ever mastered the sound of the Skyline GT-R's engine (specifically the Tommy Kaira r34 and the V Spec II Nur sound)

    Forza 2 wasn't the best Forza game but I can say it's my favourite along with 3 because of the charm, the positives and negatives did not matter because I enjoy them the most out of every Forza motorsport. Two and three can be picked up and played without complaining and that's another reason why I love them.
    However, unpopular opinion: Forza 4 wasn't as good as 2 and 3. 4 in my opinion was 3 but with more content while removing the charm and most unique cars and tracks.

    If you have the Complete Collection (US only) of Forza Motorsport 2, you have a bonus disc that gives you access to every single DLC and if you check off all DLCs, they are immediately installed into the vanilla game.
