As a fellow runner, former cross country guy, and one-time triathlete….. PRACTICE THE SWIM!! I very much underestimated the difficulty of open water swimming.
They're SO active in general. J said in one of the episodes that they're just "regular mid 30s dudes," but they are not lol. They are Type A people. The number of activities they do PLUS full-time work and having kids/family responsibilities just blows my mind.
Per the resolution/aspiration convo: my family has always written our resolutions down and folded them up and when we take our Christmas decorations down we put them in our stockings. Then at the end of the year when we decorate for Christmas again we sit in the glow of the Christmas tree and drink egg nog and everyone reads their resolutions!!
For J!!! As a triathlete, welcome to the sport. For training for your first one and just trying to finish I would recommend doing one training session per week on each of the events (ie, 1x run, 1x bike, 1x swim, + a brick workout where you do 2 of the events back to back including the transition like swim to bike or bike to run) and build up each of those until you are doing 25% longer than race day. Then a week or two before the event practice the transitions between each event of the triathlon, (ie swim to bike and bike to run). It’s ok and recommended to continue to lift heavy at the gym for core strength. As far as non training related advise, getting fitted on your bike (having a professional get your seat in the right position) will not only make you faster on the bike, but it will make you feel better on the run and therefore faster. If you have any more questions feel free to dm me. I’ve been competing for over 10 years now and absolutely love the sport.
J you gotta keep us updated on the Triathalon! I really need your reaction when you do your first practice 500m swim bc its not the worst but it is deceptively far if you haven't been swimming recently
Jay you don't need a concrete pad for hot tub. They sell plastic mats that support the weight. That's what we have. Also they don't usually do electric work. They will come set it up where you want it and then you get an electrician to come run the wires.
I started wondering if he would do a meet and greet on his own. . But also.. if he has a great time, he will tell J to come here and visit us properly!!!
I need to get back into D4. Just had so much else on my plate and was waiting for them to balance Vessel a bit more. And to be fair I actually liked D3 in the end, but yeah, in the beginning it was kinda rough.
Lol 😅; I watch the TH-cam app on my tv scree ALL THE TIME!! Case in point, THIS episode, actually! (& then, I leave a comment via my iPad or phone). And the ice swimming pool story kinda reminded me of when my cousins literally brought her bikini 👙 camping JUST SO she could SIT in her bikini IN the freezing snow JUST for her Facebook (Instagram, I think, still wasn’t a thing back then) profile pic! 😆 Also, no Corny Joke, no Fun Fact, & no Wick Of The Pick this week-unless it’s Diablo 4; just pointing that out right now! 😅
If ya'll are gonna go camping a lot, DON'T FORGET TO SUMMON FISH!!
I always stay up till midnight on New Year's Eve, but that's mostly because I stay up till midnight every night 😂 I'm a hopeless night owl
Night owls 🦉❤
Jeigh had my cracking up 😂😂

Hey J, the “daily bread” line didn’t get over my head. Good quick line.
They bring it up all the time but I still always forget just how athletic these guys are.
If not athletic then at least physically active.

FACTS!!!
Couldn't have said it better.

Omg I love The Outdoor Boys!!! Hahhah would you believe Luke used to have a white collar job???
Oh ya, his name is also Luke lol
If the GMA-stickers competition really is on-going there should be more names on the trophy.

Great shirt, J
January 6th starts Mardi Gras season which continues till February! It's the best holiday season of the year 😊
This is the first time I watching/listening Popcorn Culture, even though I watched the SCB channel for years and the TTGD podcast from day one.

I’ve never watched it as a premiere. Usually a listener on the Podcast app, but it wasn’t up yet on my drive today.

Ben mentioning going to Silverstone kinda just shocked me as I live like 10 minutes away!
I started wondering if he would do a meet and greet on his own. .

Sounds like we need a GMA patch.
What does GMA stand for?
Happy New Year everybody!
Why hide those goals, Ben? Post those babies where you see them every day. Also, let me know if you need help with the marathon.
