A self-stirring cauldron sounds like something that would be “cheating” for young wizards. Like when you’re not allowed to use calculators on tests. You have to learn how to do the math without assistance… and then once you’re old enough you use it simply for ease. Like maybe you could set your cauldron to stir for something like polyjuice potion or something else that takes a considerable amount of time to develop.
Yep, the point is to learn the importance of steady sturdy by seeing the results of when they don't do it properly. But the potions can be sold in shop with having to commission them like hand crafted due to self storing couldren.
Harry 'remembering' his mother dying could also be pulling on the Horcrux inside him and those are Voldemort's memories blurring with his own... because when Voldemort returns in Goblet he mentions that was HIS worst memory/worst moment (being torn from his body after killing Lily and then trying to kill baby Harry)
Slept with this playlist on the lull me to sleep. Dreamed i was at a Quidditch match and watching it with Ben and J 😆. I checked out cause I wandered off to rescue a stray dog.
I’ve always liked the idea that it isn’t actually a trapdoor but more like Mad Eye’s trunk where it’s bigger on the inside. Because they wouldn’t have constructed a whole new tunnel down from the 3rd floor corridor just to house something for one year.
In response to what is said @ 2:11:32.... When a dementor was nearby Harry, my theory is that he is hearing his parents because of Voldemort's soul fragment inside of him remembering that dark night in Godric's Hallow, not Harry. Voldemort's fear is death, and the night when he attacked James, Lilly, and Harry is the same night he became only an inch from death. The evidence for this theory is in Deathly Hallows, when Harry is captured by Nagini in Godric's Hallow. We find out Voldemort's perspective regarding that night.... everything from the kids thinking he was in a Halloween costume to finally casting Avada Kadavra against 1 year-old Harry.
@@ambiverter Nah, Harry would be entirely unable to remember due to it happening when he was so young. It affects him so much because of Voldemort's INTENSE fear of death and just how awful the memory was.
I believe there's a line in Philosopher's Stone by the final chapter when Ron and Hermione are visiting Harry in the hospital wing in which they say they left the dungeon and were running to send a letter to Dumbledore when they stumbled upon him in the hallways. And then he said something like "Harry went after him, didn't he?" and then ran to the third floor. So I don't think Dumbledore was really on their heels as the trio completed the challenges. It sounds like Dumbledore just got admin privileges and doesn't need to do the challenges at all
Lol I love your use of "admin privileges" ! It could be either the obstacles can be disabled by Dumbledore, or that there is a "secreter" trap door as suggested by Ben and J
I like how instead of just telling the audience to go watch your previous Dumbledores big plan video, you sat down and recorded an entire podcast dedicated to it. Bravo
Rupert grint was actually hit when his chest piece falls in the movie, a cremember was supposed to throw stones around him but hit him. You can see the scar in the great hall scene after. It is good that they shot the movie in chronological order (except for a few scenes). I got it from the 5 minuten Harry Potcast, a german Potcast where Coldmirror looks at 5 minutes of the movie and talks about everything! It is so long and soo good, anyone who understands german should take a look!
I love how you guys keep bringing up how there’s no need to overcomplicate telling the time when basically Dumbledore just has a magical version of a smart watch which is basically ubiquitous in the normal world 😅
I don’t think self defense would split the soul cause that would mean every person on Harry’s side who took a life in the battle of hogwarts, which was less than the opposition obviously but not none as Molly kills Bella, would have a split soul.
You forgot another important part of Dumbledore's Big Plan theory:- When Dumbledore tells Harry the stone is destroyed, Harry exclaims and asks about Nicholas Flamel. Dumbledore replies "Oh you know about Nicholas? You did the thing well, didn't you?" Or something along those lines. This means that Dumbledore always intended Harry to save the stone, and for that, researching about Nicholas Flamel too...
I have been reading chapter by chapter the whole time and I'm reading it and seeing these special moments loving their insight. Ben and Jay are so enthusiastic and great to listen to
The blood protection makes sense. A mother is supposed to protect you, in your home, until you're an adult. So the fact it remains on his home until he's an adult makes sense.
thought - Wonder if McGonagall has a soft spot for Ron since they both like chess, can almost see her setting up some challenges for him sometimes, etc. If you were reading from Rons experience instead of Harry's. just something to ponder.
Have sometimes wondered what the obstacle course would have been like if every teacher had contributed a challenge. Like would Burbage have a bunch of muggle puzzles, or Sinistra a planetarium like the department of mysteries?
Theory: So everyone knows the theory that McGonagall had a time turner in the Fantastic Beasts series which is how she was a teacher at Hogwarts when she was supposed to be a student around the same time according to the timeline. What if McGonagall kept the time turner and passed it down to Hermione in her third year. It would make more sense than “McGonagall writing letters about how Hermione is a model student”. I say she passed it down to Hermione because McGonagall knew out of all the Gryffindors, she was the most responsible enough one that even after her promise to use it for her studies, McGonagall would trust her enough to keep that promise. Or perhaps Dumbledore “persuaded” McGonagall to hand it down to Hermione. It would make more sense than the whole writing letters to the ministry, and would explain how Fudge, when dumbledore I think it was said “Unless you’re suggesting they can be in 2 places at once”, didn’t know anything about the time turner!
I think the "pretty" of the box McGonagall had the students make was moreso the box being whole and not boring looking. Teachers do give points for creativity.
Lily's protection keeps Harry completely safe from Voldemort. I think she only has to choose to die and the protection is in place, so if Voldemort stabbed her, then yes, Harry is protected completely. So if Voldemort goes to pick up baby Harry and throw him out the window, Voldemort would melt away.
I think that Dumbledore wanted to die undefeated so that the power of the wand would ultimately die with him but all of that went down the drain because he had to immobilize Harry in the tower and Draco took the opportunity to disarm him
listening to this and i just had to say if Arthur weasley was ever to be a teacher at hogwarts it should be muggle studies. just imagine that class. he would be having the time of his life
The thing for the exams not being difficult, I've always thought that Hogwarts wasn't really a place where you are tested, but where you go to learn magic, and maybe they make it so people that are not really interested can go through, but people that want to learn a lot can also do it, so, as an example, you can pass all classes, but if you want to get a work in the magical world like auror, potion maker etc, you need to excell in certain classes, so people that just pass, won't be able to get those specific works, but they just need to know the basics of magic. Since in the magical world there is not really the same need of knowleadge that there is in the muggle world, and could just do something that doesn't really need the books or spells knowleadge that other would need. It's hard to say if students can really just not pass a class, I've no memory of the book telling us that someone got to repeat a year because they didn't pass or something like that.
Are the audiobooks any good? I really want to read along with you guys but between work and family life I don’t have the time to sit down and read the books myself
They are excellent apart from my version of OTP has three paragraphs in the wrong order, it’s when they arrive at the headquarters after the snake attack

Like that YT clip where they replaced all the wands with guns. But it's the UK so it'd be knives. 2:24:33 Eh, Iowa HS plays their baseball season over the summer. The NCAA baseball tournament starts in June. But I guess it is weird that they fit it in there before the actual end of the year. I guess they just get to chill at the castle for a bit but I bet some homebodies are dying to get back home.
actually rupert grint DID get cut by a rock on set: IMDb: Rupert Grint was actually injured after he was attacked by the queen during the chess game. After he falls a rock can be seen striking him on the cheek after he hits the ground.
So I put on the playlist before bed and hear a couple of chapters before falling asleep then wake up to different chapters, it's glorious, you guys are so fun! Talking about moments from the book/movies twists as a kid that made my jaw drop. Forever it’ll be the end of Prisoner where you see Sirius and you’re like “YEAHH we got him! Then Lupin looks like he betrays you and THEN you find out that Pettigrew was an animagus.
I would think that for someone to have a split soul for killing someone, there has to be the intent to kill, when Harry fought against Quirrell, he didn't really wanted to kill him, just stop him/defend himself, as for Harry's mother, maybe at the time, he didn't really understand that he was witnessing a death, and that's why he didn't see thestralls at first? For Cedric's tho... there is no much explanation xD
1:56:50 My theory is that Dumbledore was there from the begining. Logicaly speaking it would be reckless to leave Harry there alone, so to make sure everything goes to plan he had to be there so things don't go bad.
I think that the puzzles reset themselves based on the assumption that if someone does make their way through them eventually dumbledore or someone would have to also get in to catch the culprit, so it would always have to be gone through at least twice even if the trio didn’t go down. It makes sense to me but it’s ultimately just headcannon
No that seems backwards. If Dumbledore or someone else wants to go after them, then the puzzles are actually a hindrance to them. It would be better to let them be solved, so they could go faster
@supercarlinbrothers Years after reading the book and watching the movies, I have mixed feelings about the ending of the first book. IF THE MIRROR OF ERISED ONLY GIVES THE SORCERER'S STONE WHO WANTED TO SEARCH FOR AND NOT USE IT THEN QUIRELL/VOLDEMORT WOULD NOT ABLE TO GET THE STONE EVEN IF HARRY WAS NOT THERE. VOLDEMORT WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK THERE THE WHOLE BLOODY NIGHT BECAUSE HE SO WANTED TO USE IT. THE HERO COMPLEX IN HARRY 😅
I would like to know your thoughts on one of the most dangerous magical items to exist in Harry Potter. AKA The goblet of fire. For those who do not think it is dangerous let me remind you Harry never put his name into the goblet, yet because someone put his name into the goblet without his knowledge he was bound by magical contract to participate. which means in the Harry Potter universe you can be forced into a magical contract you did not agreed to. Imagine if a dark wizard used that same concept, it would bring the wizarding world to its knees. There would be no need to hunt you down for disobeying the dark lord. You would just be dead. There would be no being a spy for Dumbledore, you would just be dead.
How does Dumblerdore know about Neville trying to stop the trio? well other than what you said, and I don't know why more people don't point this out, to me its obvious.... all the freaking paintings around the ENTIRE school... that is the secret of how Headmasters always know what's going on... or at least Dumblerdore... for that matter maybe there is on in Hagrid's hut that is the same as a person in Dumblerdore's office so it can go between the 2
2 things. One I know I keep harping on about but it stays in my brain because it would just fit so well knowing the naming conventions of characters withing the series but I think Quirrell should have been named something like Janus Gemini to reference the two faces thing but I have said this before so not gonna mention it again but next thing I wanna mention is this can Dumbldore see Thstrals? I mean I would imagine so right. Both his mother and sister died and he saw his sister die when the spell hit her in the 3 way battle but was that the first time he was able to see them or could he already see them before this when Kendra died or did Kendra die after Ariana? I forget the timeline. But yeah I think I answered my own question liekly but I just needed to get it out of my brain
The Janus name would be a huge hint to first time adult readers from the very beginning. Quirell fits his facade of a Quivering weak personality, which helps with the book's misdirection and the climactic plot twist
2:57:10 Also about the bank robbery and how the spoke goblin said "it was emptied in the same day" I obviously can't say anything about privacy laws on wizarding world, but it rubs me in the wrong way to have bank blurb out such personal information as that. Sure say that in the vault nothing was taken, but telling that the vault was emptied on the very same day, does rub me in the wrong way.
20:40 I've been saying it for a long time, but I WANT it. Like give me a full at least like 7 seasons (because you know 7 'tough said) of just the founders messing around and just a LOT of lore and stuff and just like THE ACTUAL history of magic. Like I NEED this Edit: 2:01:00 Honestly, I'm surprised that Harry actually never goes like at least a bit dark, not that it has to be like a big thing but that he doesn't actually go like stray a bit from the "good" path. Like he thinks he might be in chambers, right? Or is it in halfblood prince? When he's like worrying that he is turning into Voldemort? Maybe that's the fifth, ok I honestly don't remember. Whatever, not the point. I'm just surprised that like when Belatrix kills Sirius, yes he does like for a moment want to kill her. I'm honestly surprised at how he doesn't stray from the good path like at least in some part of his mind in the rest of the at least the next book like maybe subconsciously just if he has a choice between one death eater and Beatrix that he'd go for Beatrix. Maybe that's just me, but honestly how does he not want revenge for more like 5 seconds?!
Hey brother!ive been rereading the harry potter series for the 5th time probably and came across hermione being petrified.and then i thought, what if the basalisk ahd killed hermione?how would harry get past the tasks in the 4th book?what would happen if there was no hermione in the deathly hallows?and even those dont even come close to summing up how much hermione helps,i know tyeres a low chance you see my comment but i thought my idea would be a great series similar to past harry potter series videos
I noticed that the background color for your tumbnails for this book are red and the for the Chamber is green. Can i suggest ravenclaw blue for the Prisoner of Azkaban and hufflepuff yellow for the Goblet of Fire? Then green for Half-Blood Prince and a mix of red and green for Dealthly Hallows?
I feel like the only change would be that Snape just covers for him more, like from Harry's perspective it'd probably be largely the same considering Snape is still the one to kill Dumbledore. Harry might have a better view of Draco but in his mind he'd probably still like get roped in (maybe unwillingly) with Voldemort. Just that's my thought from the top of my head
I can imagine Harry and Voldemort just having nothing to do during those 5 years of waiting for the blood charm to end and just bonding over their broken families because honestly, Voldemort would be better company than the Dursleys
2:10:29 the memories of Lilly's death might be a memory from the piece of Voldemort's soul, rather than his own? because of infant dementia, I don't think a 1 year old should be able to remember things consciously, no matter how impactful
You guys keep saying the bond of blood charm is bonkers but the more you guys talk about it the more it sounds like Lilly and dumbledore had it planned beforehand. Even down to the fact dumbledore gave hagrid orders to bring Harry to the dursleys
Hey guys, currently watching your video and i am a good hour in where you ask the question if Ron was actually hit and cut by a stone... and yes he was and Rupert could keept it. :) There is a german youtuber calld "coldmirror" who made an podcast (and also youtube series) "5 Minuten Harry Podcast" where she took 5 minutes per podcast an look at it fram by fram and give trivial facts. And this was one of them. May you heard already about it. But if not and you need a little help with the translation feel free to leave a comment.
You said that Dumbledore has been watching carefully all year and knew Ron was good at chess, Hermione is smart etc. My question would be that these obstacles would have been set up long before their friendship Dumbledore got the stone from gringots a month before Harry even got to school so it would reason it would have been needed these protections relatively soon after that, unless Dumbledore has been changing them through out the year. I am not claiming this theory is wrong but that there must be more too it such as Dumbledore would have had to know Harry, Ron and Hermione would be friends and who they were long before the school year started. I would say use of the time turner if that wasn't so dangerous depending on the distance traveled or maybe his own ability of divination tho his sight would have to be relatively narrow for not being able to see the very end at the beginning and knowing about the horicrux from the start. Something like this would be the only way he could have set this up in such a way I would think
I dont think Dumbledore wants someone from the ministry at the school in Order of the Phoenix. He probably just tried to slam the door in their face, but Umbridge got her foot in and pushed her way in. I won't say Dumbledore didnt use that to further his goals, but I wouldn't say it was part of his plan originally.
Also as Voldemort was getting ready to return with the stone in this book. Did Snape, Lucious, Karkaroff and rest of the free death eaters have their scars burning bright similarly how it did on the fourth book?
About the chess game I've always wondered y they didn't just play to cross the board and then leave the other side, it would have been safer and faster at least on the one way trip
Does the U.S. version of the book not tell about how Hermione escapes the devil’s snare? I remember quite clearly reading about how she just goes limp and the plant lets her go.
So Dumbledore is completely fine with Voldemort killing Snape and setting things up for it to happen. You would think setting a plan up to get someone killed might rip your soul, especially if saving the whole Wizard world by killing Voldemort would rip Harry's soul.
dumbledore knows too much to be guessing. I believe he was using a time turner to initiate a plan and see it's possible outcome, then going back and trying another, etc. until he found the ultimate course to steer the wizarding world, not just Harry or the Golden Trio, into a successful outcome
I like the idea of Filch being a poltergeist but how does the theory deal with the fact that he has not always been caretaker at Hogwarts? Appolyon Pringle was his predecessor.
Do you guys think that Voldemort has access to memories that are made by his individual soul pieces in the horcruxes? Like, do you think Voldemort knows all of the stuff that Jenny wrote In The Diary during Chamber of Secrets
Could you imagine if a werewolf that was pregnant for a set of cups were to for whatever reason end up in a muggle hospital to give birth. Imagine the faces of the doctors and nurses that see a woman push out a litter of cups. 😂

I realised something; Quirell was the only supporter of Voldemort who would say his name as Voldemort, throughout the series.

The hero complex also kills Sirius like YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO HERMOINE!! OR JSUT USED THE MIRROR! I'm not bitter
@@pingvinbromma9451 I am not bitter??? Like bitter about what🤔🤔🤔
Do a supercut of the whole 17 episodes
The current you ube video length limit is too short (that’s what I was told when I made the same comment the other week)
@@spinba11 How is this possible then?

That'd make sense@@spinba11
1:09:42 quirrel probably lumosd his wand before he jumped down, devils snare would basically just be a squashy plant to land on in the light
How does Dumblerdore know about Neville trying to stop the trio? well other than what you said, and I don't know why more people don't point this out, to me its obvious.... all the freaking paintings around the ENTIRE school... that is the secret of how Headmasters always know what's going on... or at least Dumblerdore... for that matter maybe there is on in Hagrid's hut that is the same as a person in Dumblerdore's office so it can go between the 2
Exaclty! Also - ghosts. Myrtle, for one thing, is 100% Dumbledore's agent.
2:57:10 Also about the bank robbery and how the spoke goblin said "it was emptied in the same day"
I obviously can't say anything about privacy laws on wizarding world, but it rubs me in the wrong way to have bank blurb out such personal information as that.
Sure say that in the vault nothing was taken, but telling that the vault was emptied on the very same day, does rub me in the wrong way.
Did they forget to talk about chapter 16's chapter art or did I just miss it?
20:40 I've been saying it for a long time, but I WANT it. Like give me a full at least like 7 seasons (because you know 7 'tough said) of just the founders messing around and just a LOT of lore and stuff and just like THE ACTUAL history of magic. Like I NEED this
Edit: 2:01:00 Honestly, I'm surprised that Harry actually never goes like at least a bit dark, not that it has to be like a big thing but that he doesn't actually go like stray a bit from the "good" path.
8:42 this could also be taken as Dumbledore telling Snape to look out for quarrel because of the curse on the defense against the dark arts position
..will you guys address Hagrid disfiguring an 11year old child just because his father is insulting another grown up? and also bodyshaming him?
Nope, seems perfectly reasonable.
Yup @@spidermanshark2
Glad I wasn't the only one put off by that, but they likely won't. Like, I don't like Dudley myself, but that was entirely uncalled for.
Yall are soft af lol
Hey brother!ive been rereading the harry potter series for the 5th time probably and came across hermione being petrified.and then i thought, what if the basalisk ahd killed hermione?how would harry get past the tasks in the 4th book?what would happen if there was no hermione in the deathly hallows?and even those dont even come close to summing up how much hermione helps,i know tyeres a low chance you see my comment but i thought my idea would be a great series similar to past harry potter series videos
13:23 also, Dumbledore went into the forest single-handedly to bring Umbridge back after she was taken by the centaurs in an order of the Phoenix
2:44:20 ts actually more than 17 times for Molly to go to kings cross. She had 2 brothers that went to Hogwarts
2:11:36 Is he remembering his parents' death, or is it the part of Voldermorts' soul that technically rembering?
34:00 And Snape overhearing the prophecy, IIRC.
Greater Good = Villain for instance Thanos saying he has to kill half the People (of all kinds) in the Universe in order to save the Universe.
Just checked my illustrated copy, and yeah the pages involving the potions test don't have a picture of the test, which is disappointing
In book 6. When dumbledore and Draco are talking what if dumbledore was able to hide Draco and his family.
Does Dumbledore understand parselmouth? I never thought that he could understand it
Is it at all possible that McGonagall used Piertotum Locomotor to bring the chessmen to life.
yes
I can imagine Harry and Voldemort just having nothing to do during those 5 years of waiting for the blood charm to end and just bonding over their broken families because honestly, Voldemort would be better company than the Dursleys
About Quarrel getting the key, my head cannon has always been the immobulous spell
2:10:29 the memories of Lilly's death might be a memory from the piece of Voldemort's soul, rather than his own? because of infant dementia, I don't think a 1 year old should be able to remember things consciously, no matter how impactful
That has been quite the intro until now, when will you start to read?
Something like this would be the only way he could have set this up in such a way I would think
for the falling, these are kids and it is told from the perspective of Harry.... they could just be exaggerating too
For your own satisfaction, Look Up the Clock of Prague.
Rupert did actually get hurt
34:38 except it's a gargoyle statue not a griffin statue
I dont think Dumbledore wants someone from the ministry at the school in Order of the Phoenix. He probably just tried to slam the door in their face, but Umbridge got her foot in and pushed her way in. I won't say Dumbledore didnt use that to further his goals, but I wouldn't say it was part of his plan originally.
Also as Voldemort was getting ready to return with the stone in this book. Did Snape, Lucious, Karkaroff and rest of the free death eaters have their scars burning bright similarly how it did on the fourth book?
The addition of Fluffy seemed to introduce a massive risk to the students that seemed unnecessary!
I thought we were getting chamber chapter one today....
I have an amazing idea for a what if but I'm going to have to wait until Goblet of Fire to give it to you guys:-)
About the chess game I've always wondered y they didn't just play to cross the board and then leave the other side, it would have been safer and faster at least on the one way trip
from what you are say about when dumbledore leavls maybe his watch told him it was time.
I didn't read the books until I was an adult, and I did not see the Quirrel twist coming either.
Was gonna say it's lucky Dumbledore believed Trelawny's prophecies but I guess if he knew a seer it makes sense
Was he super choked up during that
Guys, you did not finish putting chapters on this movie. There is only the Intro and all the rest is one whole part named Chapter 16, JFYI.
dumbledore knows too much to be guessing. I believe he was using a time turner to initiate a plan and see it's possible outcome, then going back and trying another, etc. until he found the ultimate course to steer the wizarding world, not just Harry or the Golden Trio, into a successful outcome
could neville get the stone?
I like the idea of Filch being a poltergeist but how does the theory deal with the fact that he has not always been caretaker at Hogwarts? Appolyon Pringle was his predecessor.
Do you guys think that Voldemort has access to memories that are made by his individual soul pieces in the horcruxes? Like, do you think Voldemort knows all of the stuff that Jenny wrote In The Diary during Chamber of Secrets
Do you think Voldemort recognizes hagrid in the forest before he kills harry? Could have been an interesting conversation
Day 5 of suggesting a theory: What if the Marauders never bullied Snape?
Could you imagine if a werewolf that was pregnant for a set of cups were to for whatever reason end up in a muggle hospital to give birth.
Imagine the faces of the doctors and nurses that see a woman push out a litter of cups. 😂
You guys should play Hogwarts Legacy (:
Kind of weird to think Harry killed Quirrell
So chamber of secrets
