Best hot hatch on the road nothing compares to it 14 years later still blows new cars out of the water in terms of road presence wouldn't sell mine for any amount of money

I love my Mk2 RS, I'm running 412bhp with 615nm of torque
stock turbo and internals? just intercooler exhaust induction and plenum? or did you have to change clutch aswell

Sounds mega that! Definitely one of the best 5 cylinder engines out there! This and Audi's I'd say! Probs down to mods at that point.

430hp with bolt ons and stock turbo - not many 4 cylinder engines can produce that kinda output
This has either got horrendous tyre noise or it’s got a wheel bearing gone somewhere. Awesome sounding car none the less though! 👌🏽

If you want the sound but don't have RS money then the ST is the way to go. Sounds just as good with supporting mods. I had a 2010 St with 330bhp. Miss that sound.
I do agree, however the difference in driving experience between the two is night and day. RS is a lot more raw and direct than the ST.
@@olliecostley8758 here in the netherlands a proper ST is around the 10-15k range, while an RS is more in the 30-35k range. I was wondering if an RS is well worth the 20k more. I'm looking to buy either one of them, but i'm not sure which one. Money isn't a problem, just patience i guess...
@@stijnj1265 I own the ST, and its amazing car. RS is a different league but ST is just enough if you dont plan to race.

@@poosh6529 oh yeah they're great cars and pretty cheap too, just need to be a bit quicker, I'd take a Clio 182 instead tbh, but I'm biased I've got a Clio 200 😅😅
@@acarguy3773 I agree you, standard they're not that quick but the 185 spec will drop the 0-60 acceleration by 1.2 from 7.9. The rs200 is a phenomenal car, sexy af in white or liquid yellow
@@poosh6529 rs200 is pricey tho that's my issue with that. A standard mk7 ST is much better value for money. But I don't like the engine I prefer NA hence why I've got a Clio, but the Fiesta is a wicked car

Had a mk4 for 6 years before my mk2 RS . The R32 SOUNDS good but is dreadfully slow unless boosted.
@@rob7656 they’re easy to supercharge - 390ish bhp and keep the awesome sound then you have best of both worlds.
@JC I'd say a mk2 RS sounds better all day , but that's just my opinion and having owned both for a period of time.. drives/ handles head and shoulders above a mk4 R32 and I done all mounts bushes arb,s etc etc🤙

Audi 5 pot is fantastic but the Volvo 5 pot sounds miles better in my opinion.

The volvo/ford 5 cylinder does sound nice, but I still think the audi 5 cylinder sounds better.

@coziFPV if and when u get the chance to own one mate, trust me, go for it, u won't regret it. I'm loving every single minute of it and look forward to any and every opportunity I get to drive it lol i aill have mad love and respect for the mk2 focus st and rs 5 cylinder and the way they sound also but u can't beat the rs3

@@olliecostley8758 all personal opinion and I dunno what the poster meant but for me I like the MK2 RS looking OEM+ with big power. So the alloys aren’t to my taste, I much prefer the factory ones. Your car though so respect to you for doing what you like.
The MK2 RS imo is a shouty car anyway, the best of the 3 RS’s but it just looks so good with not much doing to the exterior.
Lowered slightly, possibly bigger brakes, big power with a syvecs, kinda all you need.

@@JC_46 I get that mate! I was going to go back to oem looking just keep the AP brakes etc. The alloys are sort of a memory for me, spending the day with rotiform and Ken Block posting the car etc so can’t seem to let them go. 😂
@@olliecostley8758 oh that’s cool I must have missed that bit in the vid. Even better if you can get a set of the standard alloys and wrap them in some semi slicks and maybe use them for fast road/track and the rotiforms for shows/display :)
@@JC_46 yeah true, I did used to run it on slicks. Could be a good shout though as the oem alloys are lovely. Just an awful offset so need spacers 😂.

In short, no, it’s not the best. Listen to a 147GTA with a decent exhaust set up or an R32 with a decent exhaust. That’s a winner for me.
Naturally aspirated cars do usually sound better.
VR6 is hard to beat soundwise
