- I love building, I also love survival mode. The way forward I see if combining the two to make the ultimate Fallout 4 experience. Join Bob the Builder as he Rebuilds The Commonwealth one location at a time.

I wanna do the same thing, but my head canon for why my character would do all this before finding Shaun is that he doesn't know what is out there and is not prepared enough to attempt going to central Boston so quickly. So first he makes a fortified base for him and Shaun if he finds him. And builds up the Minutemen so has allies and is not alone in the fight.

Most people try to make Fallout 4 more interesting by running through the game differently, but this, this isn't, "oh I beat the game again," this feels like a completely new story, one definitely worth watching. Also, awesome job on the editing.

@kort867 You should play this with the Sims settlements 2 mod it would fit in with the concept of rebuilding the commonwealth. It's really great.
@@ashleemortimer175 the thing with SS2 is that is very bloated, full of neat but unnecessary stuff and also very volatile.
@fuchsiafire6932 yea, I guess, I love the story I side of it, but the building mechanic I have to agree is a bit janky.
It’s one of my favorite parts of the game, cause it’s no longer just about survival and revenge but also about rebuilding the new world from the ashes of the old.
Seeing Jun wielding the minigun while showing his sad face is quite... Fascinating... ❤
I like giving the settlers miniguns when I can, since they never have to worry about ammo lol.
@@IamCoalfootOne of my settlers got one and I don’t even know how, but a malnourished woman wielding a gun bigger than herself makes for good defense.

Yea i just started the game 3 days ago and i mean my sattlememt doesnr look anywhere as good as his but i love that you can for once in a story survival game actually build a base.

This is the type of gameplay I've always wanted in a Fallout game, being able to rebuild the gameworld.
Every time I see a settlement build video I keep asking myself “Why did I ever think of that?” People got better imagination then me. Great Work 👍

The one thing that tends to bug me about fortified base building.. from a lore perspective.. is that None of that reinforcement matters, when there’s things like Super mutants for wood and some metal structures.
and hand held Nukes, for Everything.
Fortifications make sense.
Yes it might not keep out super mutants with mini nukes but not much will.
What they will do is keep out raiders and wildlife, which are much much more common than supermutants.
Even still fortifications will keep super mutants at bay as they would spend more resources breaking through when they can attack another place.
from a in lore perspecive the higher end of weapons (mini nukes,explosives etc) are likely scarce
simple wood and scrap metal structures can likely stop your average raiders
Does it bug you that people wear armour even though mini nukes exist?

This is honestly one of my favorite fallout videos on the platform, I've watched it like 4 times in the span of the couple of days since I've seen it. I downloaded the entire mod list from the doc. I'm curious how exactly you did the thing with the tree growth stimulant, I didn't see any of the mods include anything like that. Would you mind saying how you got that done?

This is exactly how i like to play i like to imagine what i would build and where, like west of diamond city there is that transition station for boats to get to the higher part of the river i would turn that into either a water processing plant or a dam generator. Attempting to make joins to destroyed highways to make it quicker and safer for settlers to make it across the commonwealth. Great video mate

for someone playing on PC, i'm surprised your not using Workshop Framework mod, that mod makes building so much easier to build in the build menu, your still kicking it the old fashioned way walking on the ground everywhere you go, why?
although you are at least using that mod that allows you to place an item without the stupid red crap that prevents you from placing items.
I guess that i'm just used to the old way of building. Also I like to build on ground level to get a perspective on what it looks like from first person.
