THAT WAS COOL, LAST WEEK WAS MY FIRST BEACH HUNT WITH MY CLUB. IT WAS GREAT GETTING OUT AND DOING SOME SAND SIFTING. THEY PLANTED 200 PENNIES WITH GAW NUMBERS ON THEM TO CLAM YOUR WINNINGS. I FOUND 6 OF THE MARKED PENNIES AND 10 DIMES AND 5 QUARTERS. IT WAS FUN.
You luck duck. I used to do environmental archeology in Great Britain, back in the 70s. There is so much Roman its remarkable. Hope you got a chance to get chips and bangers.

I carry two 1928 pennies in my pocket most of the time... one KGV like the one you found - and an Irish Hen & Chicks... because that was a first year of Irish Free State minting! Love it! I just acquired some old QE1 hand hammered silver six pence coins from 1561! They were cleaned but to me just to hold something that old is way cool! Great video, can't wait for 2 and 3!

Long time viewer First time commenting, I'm going to Love these. I Metal Detected Colchester 20 years ago. Stayed at Colchester Chris's house had a week of great detecting and some great traditional English Meals Came home with four hammered silver and so much more. Thanks 👍
Damn !! Must've just missed you Rob. I was in London during the last week of Feb. Came home to Australia via NYC and actually had a couple of hours at DFW waiting for the 17 hr flight back downunder.

This is a fun change of pace! Did you ever ID the coin at 2:40 in the video? Was it a penny? I love those large British pennies and am slowly putting together a set for myself.
Really cool. You may want to do a little thing on the rules of metal detecting in Britain. Many in America thinks there is a finders keepers rule in the UK which is 100% false. If one find anything that is cultural or historically significant, ie a hoard of something, you have to report it unless you really have a desire to live in a British prison. There have been people convicted of doing that.

You just have to keep looking. When I was a teenager, I dug bottles and had fair success finding dumps. I still treasure my finds from that time.
