i was so sad when the previous upload was removed......what a blessed saturday, a 22 minutes video, how lucky can we be ? Chris is really one of the last remaining good ones on youtube , hope many more videos to come, team Zilla btw, never was a kong fan, no sir!
Pretty cool that he’s actually got a decent channel going now. His early videos were all just AVGN parodies and were undeniably more of a passion project than something that was meant to be taken seriously. Now he’s got some really legit reviews, a higher budget, sponsors, and even did a collaborative crossover episode with AVGN (sure, they recorded the footage separately and edited it together, but that doesn’t stop the fact that they talked over everything and agreed to collaborate on something.....)

Rampage was the best King Kong and Godzilla game on the NES 💪🏽👾
I know it's not exactly "on brand for irate gamer," but there was this Godzilla fighting game for the GBA. Basically it was one of those isometric psudo-3D 16 bit fighter games where you play as one of the monsters and have to fight other monsters in different environments and conditions (like 1V1, 4 player free for all, 2 on 2 battles, and 1 on 3 battles), all while destroying the city gives you power for your combo meter. It was pretty fun, highly recommend it.

These 2020-2021 IRG episodes are such an upgrade! I liked you way back but this is really great AND informative. Also here there is Steam! And passion and hell the eye of the tiger. The Nerd has Lost that all together and just going trough the motions. Chris seems to be having fun. Irate keep this up! Some came back and some stuck around that isnt for nothing.
I'm not gonna shit on the AVGN, I still watch his episodes, even if I find them boring or lame.... but it's amazing how the IG only went up in quality while the AVGN declined.
I used to dislike the IG, heck, I'd argue that some of his oldest videos are still a bit bad... but modern IG episodes are really fun, and you can tell Chris is having fun, unlike James who just phones it, reading lines written by other people about games other people played.
So yeah, I love the IG's glow up, it's the retro-inspired youtube show I look forward the most nowadays.

The Godzilla game that we got was The King of the monsters for the Neo Geo and arcades.

@@tafblader It's more cinematic than it used to be. Like James has a list of Tropes he's going to use, and checks them off, then adds in some artistic vision. It's formulaic. Not that this is a BAD thing, as when I click on an AVGN video, I know what to expect.

Honestly, I think Mike was kinda keeping him grounded with that stuff. It's not that I hate what James is doing - the micro movies _are_ entertaining - but it's less of a review, now, and more of a mini-film that happens to use a "bad" game as the topic.
@@calanon534 I get what you're saying but for me the taming of the nerd character by screenwave made avgn episodes quite bad lately..profanity was the nerd main comedic outlet and they didn't find a replacement that works well..
Maybe Mike kept him grounded in an artistic way,but a verbally censored nerd it's so boring even if gained more freedom in other aspects.
Chris cringiness feels likeable to me while most cinemassacre stuff it's just cringy in a bad way lately...

To me the xbox game of the peter Jackson's king kong and godzilla unleashed(wii) are the best games of these two legendary kaijus franchises and hope there's a game that features both them and their foes and allies

I actually liked the first Godzilla game on NES. In the video you didn't show Mothra's special attack at all. Barely showed any of Godzilla's ability to breath fire. Good video though.

Godzilla vs. King Kong reminds me that Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Gogeta vs. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta in Dragon Ball FighterZ may be a reference to that battle.
I remember the Japanese exclusive Godzilla game for the SNES. I played it back when emulation was more accessable. I got to play a lot of games I couldn't imagine back in the day. Now I don't have much time to even play the games I actually own. I have various hobbies that conflict each other and college. And I started to work out again. The Corona stuff really crippled me physically and mentally. So I need to get back to good shape if not better.
“Godzilla” movies used to be on many TV stations in NYC back in the 1970’s and 1980’s. WPIX-TV (channel 11) had “Chiller Theater” where they ran “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, WABC-TV (channel 7) had a slew of “Godzilla” movies when it was part of the “4:30 Movie”, and then WOR-TV (channel 9) had three “Godzilla” movies on “Black Friday” which was the day after Thanksgiving when it was part of the “Holiday Movie Special” and others.

Godzilla monster of monsters on nes I really enjoy. I've played it and its fun. Not sure what 80's kids were expecting to find in an nes game of godzilla.

No reference to the infamous Godzilla NES creepypasta? I guess, it was a long shot, considering creepypasta's are a niche subject, but I thought there might be a chance you'd finish the first stage and then edit in the red tribal mask face where the final stage of the first world was supposed to be. It was still cool to see you review the king of monsters game. I don't suppose you ever played any of the ps2 games, though, did you? Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (which I had for the original Xbox, but was also on ps2) were incredible.

I remember playing that old NES Godzilla game back in the day! Haha! 4 hrs of gameplay? What a joke! It was like the developers put too much thought into what was really needed to make a decent Godzilla game... Just have the monster trashing cities - not traipsing around planets. What a lot of madness! Maybe the game was programmed by beings from dimension X? Who knows? The game might actually appeal to them!

Funny part is that my understanding of the Nintendo Seal of Quality is that it wasn't meant if the game was good or not just that the game was able to be beaten. People may think okay that is weird but if you see certain ports of games like RoboCop or Dennis the Menace, they made those games unbeatable due to laziness.
I am fucking pumped for this movie, and just having you doing something related to it only makes it better.

Awesome Episode! I think the main reason "King Kong 2" wasn't released here in the States was because it was based on the movie "King Kong Lives", the shitty sequel to the 1976 remake of "king Kong". Which is a shame because the game does look interesting. A shame they never made a "King Kong vs. Godzilla" video game, that would've sold like hot cakes.
You made a good point when you showed Rampage. I guess that was the only way to play a proper King Kong or Godzilla game on the NES. Actually the Sega Master System version of Rampage is even better!
I had Super Godzilla when I was younger then I Sold it after a couple of years I began to miss the game so when I saw it at a Game X Change I knew it was fate bringing me back
First Godzilla nes game was awesome.
The new IG episodes have been more entertaining than the recent AVGN episodes, if I’m being honest. Chris’ videos haven’t skipped a beat from back in the day while AVGN, while still really good, just don’t feel like they used to.
