Thank you so much, this video was easy to follow not a lot of parts you were efficient in the way you hooked it up! I'm amazed, thanks for making this so easy
Great job! I am planning the same idea for my trailer home. I'm fixing its place permanently. So I need to connect the sewerage directly to the septic tank. The problem I have is the cassette or storage of sewer, I might put a hole on this cassette to have a pipe connected on it down to the septic tank. I’ll check if there’s an outlet like yours on it.
One comment if anyone is looking to do this - the 90 off the RV should be a cleanout tap and not a 90. I agree its unlikely you will get a stoppage in the short run, but if you did, having a cleanout will save you dealing with a lot of crap (pun intended)
This may be a strange question, but.... I am thinking of moving into a camper next to my home due to family moving in. I want to take my duct work from my trailer and hook it to my camper for heat. Do you think its possible???
How do you eliminate not getting a poop pyramid. Since you got rid of the gate valve for your black tank normally you have to let it build up with the liquids so you don’t get a poop pyramid. Please enlighten me on how you get around not having a poop pyramid
The FEMA trailers don't have any tanks. It's all direct flow out. There's no separate gray/black water drains in FEMA trailers. Thanks for the question!
Thanks for the video. I am curious as to what the reason is for the hard plumbed requirement for over 30 days? Just cannot see how a month should change anything from one day? Can you enlighten?
my unit was an ex-FEMA trailer and didn't have any tanks so I left it open all the time. I've heard that you shouldn't leave the black tank open all the time.
My 24 yr old son just moved to Austin. Honeycomb RV Park. My 15 year old 5th wheel. It was in a storage yard for a year before I had it hauled to Austin for him to live in. Several problems showed up. I tried to explain hard plumbing septic was the way to go! Are you anywhere near there? He could really use some help. He's right out of college. Got good job in Austin. Very smart, but just learning the ways of the world outside of college and dorms. I'm 350 miles away with no transportation. He also has a major water leak pouring out from under the toilet area! A plumber he is not!
I was far from a professional. I've had a couple of comments about the sweeping 90s. I never had an issue. there was a vent internal to the top of the camper before the exit. not sure of the declination, just know it flowed well and could be adjusted up or down if I ever moved. thanks for watching!
Weird question how come you didn't reverse all the way back on the rocks to the grass ? Then you would have room at from for car and less distance to the sewage
There was a tree on the other side that would have blocked my front door and I'd would have my front door off the concrete porch landing. The lots are made for deeper mobile homes, in fact they're pushing out RVs for more permanent mobile homes. Thanks for the question
So, how do you unscrew the adapter when you need to remove the pipe? Seems like once you screw on the adapter and glue the pipe and 90 in place you'd be stuck.
that's true. when I sold the camper, I just cut the straight length of PVC close to the 90 and then they just used a collar to reconnect the PVC on site.
OMG - so I’m at Royal Palms in Austin and just got my “non-compliance” notice. Lol. I hate this place!!! Anyhow - are you still around Austin.... or Royal Palms? If so, are you available for hire to do this upgrade? And what do you charge? This sucks cuz I don’t like Royal Palms very much - so wasn’t really planning to stay here very long. Is this kinda pipe gonna be a pain when moving?
sorry to hear that. I got a ticket too for parking my motorcycle on the concrete pad. I am not in Austin and this setup is particularly to your trailer location so it will not be able to be reused. when I left I just cut it in small pieces and threw away. Any handyman could do. don't waste your money on a plumber. look for the adapter for trailer to pvc at a rv shop or Amazon. good luck!
Omg! Thank you so much for the quick reply!!!!! I do have a handyman that says he can do it for me..... but what a pain. Lol. I was just looking for the stuff on Amazon. Do you think I can get everything I need on Amazon? Or maybe we gotta go to Lowes as well?? Thanks for your kind help. Where you living now?
@@leadejean8221 this is the part you need to go from the camper to threaded PVC pipes. the pvc was all be found at Lowes. www.amazon.com/dp/B000BGK25G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_42GBNJFG6NB3X8KM1MZB
This may be a silly question but I’m moving into a house that a camper is built into does this make it where you do not have to change the sewage tank?
I’m trying to come up with a similar plan: a camper housed within a steel building, preferably with a washer & dryer hookup. Any pointers you could offer?
I still think you need at least a couple feet of hose somewhere for some give, the trailer will shake and shift in the wind that could cause issues when it's all stiff PVC
I've never used one. I think I stated that a friend told me about it. My camper didn't have the 3 prong end, it was already threaded. Ask any RV place for a 3 prong to threaded adapter.
HI FROM NEW ZEALAND MOVING AND REQUIRED ME TO BE PLUMBED IN AS WELL. Did you do your kitchen and shower water as well connected? I plan to do mine next year and will connect all of them up to run down into the septic tank can i do this? Thanks for your suggetions
I think that was the cap for the inlet that I was using. but thinking about the site. it was setup for mobile homes that are more permanent and there could be more clean out spots there
2:40 I got a Fema trailer and apparently at this step in the process someone actually glued the white pipe to the black piece. I'm trying to figure out how to undo this damage and get it back to a place where I can actually use a sewage hose as at this point the end of the black sewer pipe is covered with the large white pipe. Can someone advise on how I can fix this? Thanks.
When the shit falls dose it fall right into the septic or is it falling into another pipe that leads to septic?and if so dose it not clogged the pipe or build up ..
as a total newbie ...can I ask you when you are set up like this do you have to empty tanks as videos I have seen when their half full etc ? lol I just have no clue and trying to learn . As the trailer I bought is in a seasonal sight and trying to understand it before the season opens in May :)
My camper doesn't have any tanks. It's a FEMA built trailer and made without them. I've heard people say different theories. Some wait until the tanks are almost full and some leave them always open. I lived in a different Class C for about 6 months and just left the valves open all the time.
Ahh I have seen videos on faema trailers .The park your at seems great ! With all the amenities ! I think we will do that as well and just leave the valves open as well
The Girl with the Nikons if you have great and black water tanks you should let your black water tank fill up and dump it periodically.. otherwise you will have some build up and pyramiding of waste. You can leave your gray water open just close it off a day or two before you want to release your black water so you have some water to flush out the lines..
Straight cuts butt directly up to the inside stop of the coupling so that it ends up one smooth pipe to another . Rough or angled cuts give something for debris to collect in and things to hang up on causing clogs . Not a huge issue if out in the open but a hassle if buried . Also advise to paint the exposed sections of PVC as sunlight makes it brittle over time .
You should definitely NOT use your RV without a gate valve. Keep it closed until the tank is half full then open it to drain it. Using your black tank on full time draining will result in solid waste building up in the tank.
Tom Thumb, wow. I nominated you for best supporting actress and an academy award! I have a water heater to keep my water lines from freezing. I have a hot water heater for hot water.
Wow you welded PVC, amazing , can't believe it didnt melt. Was it wire feed weld? WTF, Dont put out videos if you cant explain what you are doing properly.

Thanks for the information.
It's legally connect to city sewer? I will need install my..thanks!
Thank you!!!!!
Wow great job Bro.
Did you put a residential toilet in as well? Seems there wouldn’t be enough water pressure to keep the sewage flowing from a rv toilet.
yes, it had a normal toilet when I got it. it was a FEMA trailer
This helped a lot thank you

Thanks for the video. I am curious as to what the reason is for the hard plumbed requirement for over 30 days? Just cannot see how a month should change anything from one day? Can you enlighten?
It was just a local regulation. If over a month they may think you're in a more permanent situation
Is the hot water heater still working? Would like to see a video on that, how you hooked it up to the 20 pound propane tank.
I'm not sure. I donated the trailer to a single mother. Haven't heard from them in a while.
Cool thank ya smart
Can you leave the black tank open all the time with this?

A licensed plumber would use “sweeping 90’s “ to avoid any clogs.
Thanks but I never had any issues with clogs.
What is sweeping 90s?
What is your downward declination? No clean out? Probably would have gone with sweepibg 90's. Maybe vented the line.?

Couple hours to dry?
yea, 24 hrs to fully dry. I think I gave it to the next morning before I ran a full shower through it.

Not enough movement to hurt the pvc. Especially the bottom of the RV:)
Where are you located, brother. Looks nice and amenities sound great. Thanks.
When I recorded this, I was living in Royal Palms RV Park in Austin TX
Thank you.
Are you somewhere warm I guess you don't have to worry about freezing huh
Yea, at that time I was in Texas.
So you’re not eliminating the tanks
this was a FEMA trailer. They don't have holding tanks, direct draining.
What is the name of the adapter you need to go from the 3 prong waste pipe to the threaded pipe? Terminology is important.
I've never used one. I think I stated that a friend told me about it. My camper didn't have the 3 prong end, it was already threaded.
Ask any RV place for a 3 prong to threaded adapter.
is called a female adapter
Do we need permits for that?
not in Texas, it's a requirement to hard plumb over 30 days in a park.
@@mylifehows7047 if it’s parking longer then 30 days it needs permit
wouldn't some long sweep 90s be better
I've had that question before.
Probably but I never had an issue
I assume you don't have to vent the line...
The trailer had a "float" vent under the kitchen sink and a stack vent from the bathroom.
Did you put P trup so gases get in trailer
I did not put a main ptrap because each drain in the trailer, (shower, toilet, sink) already had their own ptraps
You say it's pretty quiet up there except for the constant airline traffic all day and night ? Damn where is this paradise?
I guess I just got immune to it. Also having raised 4 kids, I can filter out most noises
Yes, all water grey and black went out thru the septic hook up. This was a FEMA camper with no tanks, so it needed constant connectivity to septic.
erin can you help me with mine?
I'm sorry I can't but any handyman can do it. Don't pay extra for a plumber, just get a handyman.
Hey! We live in the same rv resort! Still living there?
we are going to do the pvc on this sunday!
I do not but it's a nice park to live in. Enjoy!
Are you still there? I am looking for help doing this
Does anyone know why there are two pipes at the clean out?
I'm not sure what you mean by "clean out". Can you explain?
@@mylifehows7047 right next to the pipe in the ground you connected to , there’s another one . I think it’s a 2 way clean out system ???
I think that was the cap for the inlet that I was using. but thinking about the site. it was setup for mobile homes that are more permanent and there could be more clean out spots there
Royal rv park? Are you still there?
I am not. I got married 2 years ago and we moved to a house. Royal palms rv is a very good park though
Is it connected to a sewage line or septic tank?
Sewage line in a RV park but it could be used for either.

Cut it off with a sawzall, leaving enough straight pipe to reglue another threaded section or get a RV type blade valve.
When the shit falls dose it fall right into the septic or is it falling into another pipe that leads to septic?and if so dose it not clogged the pipe or build up ..
whats rent cost
I've been away from there for a few years but it should be around 400-500 month.

What did you use to cute your PVC?
Just a jigsaw. You can also use a reciprocating saw. It's not super important to be straight. You have a couple of inches of collar on the unions

I believe it was 4in. It was the same size as the pipe installed under the trailer.
