Nice. I added the magnetic plug too as soon as I got the bike. Didn't need the oil change, but I wanted the plug. And I just got a new gear shift pedal based on a recall notice: NHTSA Recall Number: 21V-690. Not much difference, but MR did a good job and I'm all set.

Oh nice! I’m not sure how well I articulated it but I did the same thing for mine.
That’s so funny, MR did my warranty service too. I’m really happy with my experience there. Perhaps I’ll see you around town sometime!

If you see another CT125 in town, that's me.

are all 125 trail models effected by this? what is the difference? I saw some videos where people modified it themselves or just chopped off the heel portion

You drained the oil but you never showed where the plug is located some may not know as much as you? Other than that not bad.

How did you know to check the oil level without screwing the stick all the way back in. That's something I have wondered about on other things I have checked the oil level in. If that's what Honda says, that a big help for me when I do my first change. I have a Gold Plug on the way also. Thanks, EE

Great question! One of the first things I did was check my user manual that came with the bike for instructions on checking the oil.
When you get your CT125, that specific instruction will be on page 61, under the section titled “Checking the Engine Oil”.
      Per Honda:
      5. insert the dipstick until it seats, but don’t screw it in.
      6. Check that the oil level on all faces of the dipstick is between the upper level and the lower level marks
I also ordered the actual Honda Service Manual for the bike, which you may want to do too, in case you need it someday! 🔧
      Thanks for watching, luvbgrass!
