I lost my son in 1994 at the age of eleven when he was hit by a car. This was his favorite song. We had it played at his funeral, followed by Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. I miss him so much.
May god give you all the power you need to complete your journey..your son is looking down for you…he will be around don’t worry…love you and keep strong your not over yet.
I agree. The only good unplugged was from an amazing new band called the DMA's. For some reason the whole concert got taken down but you can fine individual songs.
I was an 8-year-old boy when I heard this song and now I am a 40-year-old man and every time I hear this song I become a child again. thanks Soul Asylum for that.
The official video of this masterpiece helped more than 20 missing kids reunite with their families. It's legacy will always be a powerful reminder that we can all make a difference.
It’s January 1st 2024 I lost my daughter from a fentanyl overdose.. this song hits hard it’s her , sadly but a true show of talent to touch so many with this song.. mama loves you Taylor always and forever🩷
@@awkwardandrew3031 that is like the least-making sense thing I have read in a while. doesn't matter if a singer is good or not? dear god. I'm a late millenial btw.
My favorite line is "little out of touch little insane, it's just easier then dealing with the pain" and I'm like YES! I know exactly what that feels like!
I'll never forget that music video on VH1 and MTV! Imagine how long this track would have to play to cover today's corruption. - How I miss the early 90s
Myself as well. At this stage in my existence i know better. This train pulls into a station i don't want to go to. So i'm hopping off this one @ the next station, getting my poop in a group, gathering up loose ends and just generally finishing up so when the other train gets here i'll be good to go. Time is short. It's been a heck of a trip. A long strange trip you might say😳. It's been a great life and the times it wasn't great were all my own fault. Practising insanity doing the same things over and over expecting different results. I am tired, it's time to go Home. I've got to get there failure is not an option. This place was never my home, just a rental. People think they have time.....we don't. That's why you should love fiercely and true, be grateful, kind, and savor every single second you are here. Because once a moment is gone it's not coming back. If there is something that means a lot to you do it now because tomorrow never comes. Don't delay so that you're sitting waiting for the train w/ regrets. Don't know your age but if you are a boomer like myself get off the Runaway Train. Be good to yourself, you can get off, there's still time. God bless and keep you.......
Life is more than short. It's just a flash, even if you live a long life. What a crazy runaway train am I! Been barreling through life and astonished I haven't crashed and burned 🤷✌️🖤🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶
After finding recovery and looking back that's were I was on a runaway train running off the track. 30 years later I love hearing songs like that are so good and right to no I don't have to go back. Thanks for a beautiful song 🎵 ❤❤❤❤
This was my dad's favorite song. It's the poem on his obituary. He sang it every time he drank. The hundreds of times throughout the years and it never gets old. I can't listen to it without welling up and he's been gone going on 3 years now
I am..on this very first day of 2024 with a broken heart. This past week she took me to the stars and crashed me back to earth. I'm on a runaway train...riding my bike aimlessly trying to get away from myself and from it all...but she's there on my mind.
The early 90s was such a free spurited time in life and rock and roll. I was a freshman in high school when this song came out. Aside from the 60s, I consider 92-95 the greatest years for rock.
This song motivates me to continue working in a residential treatment center for teenaged girls. Been here 24 years and can definitely relate to this song. Whenever I watch it brings tears and just makes me want to give these girls all the support humanly possible.
This song kept me company when it was played on the little radio we had , inside the main gate guard box in the barrack's , where i would take my turn doing guard duty , when in the British Army! I love this song as it takes me back to my army day's! ☺️
Sang this song with my old band in several concerts in KL in the 90s.. when music was best played live and raw.. so much fun. Only regret is that we didn’t keep any video of the concerts..
Is this like the most beautiful song ever written? I'd say it is. This song transcends all cultures and connects to all on an individual basis. Thank You Soul Asylum!
