Hey, I'm right there with you, just a day later. I think the unplugged album is my favorite from Nirvana because it's so intimate. I really wish I could've been there to see it in person.

That riff is so unbelievably beautiful. I still can't get over how talented Kurt Cobain was. He had such a wonderful sense of melody, almost sounds like a classical piece. And the vocal melody too. Everything about this is just perfect ❤
It sounds different because it uses a scale rarely found in most Western popular music - the Mixolydian mode. It does appear in psychedelic rock quite a lot though - because of its ambiguous sound (is it happy or sad sounding?). Modern music you hear in the charts almost never strays outside of major and minor scales.

I can't say for sure, but I would assume the reason is because it was an "unplugged" set. Drums can be overpowering even at the best of times, and if you listen you can hear them creeping in louder than they should be (for this set anyway) quite a few times before he catches it and dials back.
This song came out the same year my mother died from suicide; when I heard it the first time, I got the sense that Curt would not be around much longer, and I was right. So many great artists from this era gone too soon. I pray their souls are finally at peace.

If you ask any skilled guitar player they will tell you that each individual part of this song is fairly easy to play but it’s not about that. This band was truly special and will probably never be replicated ever again. The melody was one of a kind with Kurt and the crew together as one.
I know many love their guitar gods, and they have their place, but guys like Kurt, Paul, and John, understood that you dont have to be a technically great guitarist, or write complicated songs, to make great ones. I always found all three of those guys to be chorus geniuses. They all had a knack of writing catchy ones that really made awesome songs. Lastly, all of them, and moreso Kurt in this case, had amazing voices. I remember being a kid, listening to Nirvana, and my father thinking their music, and especially Kurts voice, being almost vulgar lol. What he couldnt get is that even a scream can be melodic, and Kurt had that in spades. I also love his voice when its more toned down. He could do anything with it, and is without question, one of the greatest voices of all time.
What often goes unnoticed, he plays crazy catchy riffs and sings so well on top of that and genuinely full of personality. It is so tragic that his fate led him in such deep abyss. Very much missed, what a beautiful soul. All reasons to wish there is a heaven and that rests in peace. Incredible what legacy he left to the world. Kurt Cobain is legendary, incredebly beautiful to think this guy existed.
I remember seeing this performance in my bedroom as 16 year old teen and instantly knew this man was just on a different level. Even the hood knew about this band. Rest in Peace Kurt 🕊️

Im reviewed all the evidence lately over and over and over and over and there is no way he ever harmed himself, he was beat, and drugged to OD and made it left like he killed himself.
One of the few songs in the world I prefer live. A guy I work with is married to a woman who knew Nirvana before they were famous, and she said one night at a party, Kurt was sitting all alone in a corner holding a beer and not smiling or anything. She said for him to come on, get up, have some fun. Kurt looked at her and simply said, “I don’t know how to.” After hearing that story, the lyric hits differently when he says, “I wish I was like you - easily amused.”
Kurt la guardò e disse semplicemente: "Non so come." Dopo aver ascoltato quella storia, il testo suona in modo diverso quando dice: "Vorrei essere come te - divertito facilmente". Quindi fondamentalmente era un imbronciato in cerca di attenzioni
Nirvana were a great band. Kurt had such a unique voice. this song is brilliant in every way. great lyrics, great sound. one of those songs you can listen to over and over and it never gets old. sounds great every time I hear it
Such a deep song that has made me cry so many times, I'm still crying as I write this comment. Listening to the lyrics I also see the pain felt by Kurt, I made mistakes that I regret and nothing can change the past, the fact that this is the last one on In Utero leaves a mark like Kurt will always be a legend. Rest in peace little angel who left too soon. ❤
So much talent and so much pain. He went through pain and unfortunately caused massive pain to all of those who loved his songs and talent. Sleep in heavenly peace, you put a hole in my heart they day you stopped gracing the earth.
Leslie Churchwell - She's in the process of ruining the life of her daughter Frances' ex-husband, Isaiha Silva. Over a guitar and it's a looonnng story. He seems like an OK dude and was working full time taking care of disabled people while he tried to make it in a band... Before Frances Bean Cobain... She dropped him like a hot potato once Mama got her strung out and then supplied her.. I read 50 pages of court documents where he's suing Cunt Hole (Courtney). Basically, she has her lawyer/agent/watchdog/whatever try to kidnap and murder Silva. Plus, she and her minions were on social media pretending to be Silva and making him look suicidal. It sounds like a made up story but it is 100% factual according to court documents. Silva's first wife and little girl were threatened. He had to go into hiding with them. Meanwhile, his extended family were also threatened. All were gang stalked, harassed, job firing attempts, distant relatives threatened and on and on. Silva's band mate was bribed, threatened, family threatened until he ended up moving in with the insane lawyer of Courtney and was being paid 3K a month as an "assistant". It shows the Cobain pattern and why is that CUNT not in jail already????? She's trying to get him to look suicidal, like she painted Kurt to be! She's getting away with this! yes but she isn't getting way with it.zit just has delayed things with the bribe. Silva's band mate was bribed, threatened, family threatened until he ended up moving in with the insane lawyer of Courtney and was being paid 3K a month as an "assistant". It shows the Cobain pattern and why is that CUNT not in jail already???? Do you think Tom Grant will get her testimony on the deposition? This is a a civil case and not criminal so Grant can force her on the stand
rahul dio well yeah it is people use heroin to block out problems in their life..the first few times you do heroin it’s amazing..then you get addicted and need more and more to get the same feeling as the first time until you need to use heroin just to feel normal again. So now your addicted heroin and your life problems still remain..you end up in a worse situation than the beginning and the amount of heroin you need to feel normal again can easily kill you. It’s a lose lose situation
If you listen carefully to the lyrics he is not really apologizing but just points out the fact that he is obligated to apologize all the time to his narcistic wife who forces him to apologies for things he does not believe he need to apologies ...
One of the most healing things in life for me is just singing along to music I adore, and singing along to this song was particularly special today. Thank you, Kurt, Krist, Dave, Pat, and everyone else involved in making this happen. ❤️

Mark Humphrey You mean they are as good live or they sound like Nirvana? What I said is Muse and Coldplay are amazing live bands. They have so much energy when they play and it blows you away and it sounds as good as the record. But I wasn't saying their music sounds like Nirvana.
LBMultimediaDesign I meant in terms of live performance and because i really dislike both Muse and Coldplay. Coldplay really have no decipherable talent what so ever. Their live performances revolve around being melancholic, which really takes no effort. And Muse have turned into this unstoppable monster that only seems to get bigger. They've past the point of no return as fans only expect one thing and that's a ridiculously grandiose spectacle, whereas Nirvana could perform anywhere and it would be a great gig and same goes for No Age and Deerhunter IMO. It's all just opinion tho.
A lot of you might disagree but this is and truly is the greatest unplugged in history. For such an intense and hard hitting band to have a performance that's mellow and wholesome is definitely uncalled for. What an intense band and certainly one of the greatest of all time.
This is my favorite album to be honest. I mean, In Utero and Nevermind of course were awesome, but with the Unplugged being raw and everything played from the scratch, makes it more special for me.
i had two bottles of wine when the show was on TV . i sang along so loud, that my neighbours knocked on my door. it was perfect. it was this song i believe. perfect song.

Kurt wanted the drums to be so much quieter during rehearsals that Dave considered not playing at all.

Worldwide Hip-Hop fuck you
I can't say for sure, but I would assume the reason is because it was an "unplugged" set. Drums can be overpowering even at the best of times, and if you listen you can hear them creeping in louder than they should be (for this set anyway) quite a few times before he catches it and dials back.

If you ask any skilled guitar player they will tell you that each individual part of this song is fairly easy to play but it’s not about that. This band was truly special and will probably never be replicated ever again. The melody was one of a kind with Kurt and the crew together as one.
Well said. I think the beauty of it lies in its simplicity.
One of the hardest things to accomplish in music is simplicity executed beautifully. This composition is exactly that

I was just thinking of that. Kurt Cobain was gone too soon and the world needs more of him, atleast to me btw.

Enric Casamitjana yeah Kurt we really need more of your depressing music
One of the few songs in the world I prefer live. A guy I work with is married to a woman who knew Nirvana before they were famous, and she said one night at a party, Kurt was sitting all alone in a corner holding a beer and not smiling or anything. She said for him to come on, get up, have some fun. Kurt looked at her and simply said, “I don’t know how to.” After hearing that story, the lyric hits differently when he says, “I wish I was like you - easily amused.”
So basically he was a sulky attention seeker
Kurt la guardò e disse semplicemente: "Non so come." Dopo aver ascoltato quella storia, il testo suona in modo diverso quando dice: "Vorrei essere come te - divertito facilmente".
Quindi fondamentalmente era un imbronciato in cerca di attenzioni
Thats a nice story

“Gracing the earth” he was a degenerate heroin addict
rahul dio well yeah it is people use heroin to block out problems in their life..the first few times you do heroin it’s amazing..then you get addicted and need more and more to get the same feeling as the first time until you need to use heroin just to feel normal again. So now your addicted heroin and your life problems still remain..you end up in a worse situation than the beginning and the amount of heroin you need to feel normal again can easily kill you. It’s a lose lose situation
I love this song because it's about being sorry for not being good enough, but then again everyone is imperfect, so who are we apologizing to?
I guess maybe to those who have certain expectations about us...just my guess
To everyone that has met/knows us
If you listen carefully to the lyrics he is not really apologizing but just points out the fact that he is obligated to apologize all the time to his narcistic wife who forces him to apologies for things he does not believe he need to apologies ...

It's probably true. As for today's bands I think Muse and Coldplay are amazing live bands.
LBMultimediaDesign :( jeez try Deerhunter and No Age and you're be closer to Nirvana. Double jeez
