    Even tho I don't have this car, this video is still extremely helpful for my home adaptive exterior lighting

    Lol, I too have a microfiber towel in the door storage pocket. I typically use individual with everything set to race except the suspension which is set to comfort. I switch to race mode on prime roads when I feel like getting on it a bit.

    I have the new MK 8 GTI and ACC in the individual is not adaptive cruise control it's actually Adaptive Chassis Control for your suspension, many people reading it wrong

    • @jydiw

      that's DCC - dynamic chassis control

    I have a 2018 gti autobahn, so it has the “eco” mode in addition to the comfort, normal, and sport. the car is extremely slow in eco mode. I notice when I put the car in “comfort” mode, volkswagen now has the ACC set to Eco, instead of Normal like it was on the older models. therefore, it accelerates very slowly which is very annoying when using ACC on the highway. so I usually drive my car in normal or sport mode, and on long trips use “custom” mode. my custom mode is set exactly the way that “comfort” mode is set, the only difference is that I set the ACC to Normal. therefore I never use comfort mode. wish VW would fix this

      I have same 2018 VW GTI Autobahn and I have not notice in comfort where engine runs like ECO. I do agree on ECO you do notice the difference but I do not notice it on Comfort setting.

    The GTI doesn't have Race mode, just one called Sport. I put mine in Sport mode during the test drive, bought the car and never once tried a different setting. Everything feels great so I see no reason to try different settings. Only thing that was terrible in Sport was the fake sound (produced by soundaktor) and that has been turned off via OBDEleven.

      Normal beats sport all day for me....

    I need to try steering normal, I typically just daily on race mode and never change it since Charlotte NC roads are decent and I like to be able to rip through left turns pretty quick

      Race feels nice and beefy but I think it just numbs it up ever so slightly compared to normal!

  • @limitededition3278

    GTI has same exact settings only difference instead of having a mode for race the GTI'S is sport.

    Prettty cool:) My 2016 GTI 3-Door has all these modes..actually more. There is a Front Diff Lock mode & Drivetrain DSG mode.
    However there is no Comfort steering mode & no Engine mode because there's no exhaust valves.
    The ability to customize is friggin awesome.
    The 2015 US models didn't get the Adaptive Cruise but DCC was available.

      Car Tech Connect yesssir! It's an extremely rare example - has every option except power seats & climatronic. These are bad ass cars- Euro LEDs really spruce it up. They look better than the 7.5's during the day IMO. Your smoked ones are cooler than my dark cherries:)

    You can buy a GTi with all 5 modes enabled if you have adaptive dampers, if you don’t you can get it with 4 options missing the comfort mode. You can also get it with 3 options missing comfort and eco. And you can get it without any driving mode options.
    I came here to find the logic in this. But you only seem to confuse me more lol.
    Ps
    In the gti Race is renamed to sport.

    Comfort mode in my experience, is way too soft. Front suspension bottoms out waay too easily and early in comfort.

    • @CarTechConnect
      @CarTechConnect  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would never use it when driving even remotely spirited but on the drive home from work some days where I needed some relaxing cruse time it was absolutely perfect. Genuinely felt like a Mercedes e class crusin down there highway. I love the flexibility they engineered into it. Our S3 also had adaptive suspension and it went stiff, stiffer and unnecessarily stiff lol

    Hi, I have a question. In Golf R mk7.5 custom mode, which mode increases engine performance output, the DCC in Race mode or DRIVE in Race mode.

    • @CarTechConnect
      @CarTechConnect  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you for watching. The DCC in race mode only changes the stiffness of the suspension and nothing else. The Drive mode will definitely change the engine response but doesn’t Increase outright performance, just makes the car much more ready for quick driving. Hope this helps 👍

    • @amg4616
      @amg4616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Car Tech Connect Thanks. Appreciate your response. Well, actually the reason for the question was that I noticed when in RACE Mode, I feel like the engine is pulling down sort of producing some turbo lag plus the loud engine sound feel. But the car doesnt go smoothly fast. On the contrary, I feel having faster engine response when in Comfort mode rather than in Race Mode. All I want actually is a quiter version of Race Mode. I normally drive average 200km/hr when on highway. I own the new A250 Mercedes too but no turbo lag whatsoever and the ride is smooth even when in Sport Mode. Any take on this.

      @@amg4616 Only thing I can say is you are butchering the english language. As for what you should do? Mess around with custom settings, and read your manual. Asking for answers in the comment section of a TH-cam video is a terrible way to get information.

    Whats the difference between esc sport and esc?

    • @CarTechConnect
      @CarTechConnect  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      esc sport will allow some wheel spin and some slide before kicking in (made for sporty driving) unlike full on mode. Esc off will completely turn everything off and does nothing to control wheel spin and sliding (great for donuts in a parking lot, but not so great on a snowy road with heavy traffic unless you are a highly skilled driver)

    Mine has ‘drive’ setting, is that the equivalent to your DCC?

    • @CarTechConnect
      @CarTechConnect  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What type of Golf do you have? Drive will most likely control the engine and transmission calibration and I would assume is for automatic cars . DCC is the dynamic chassis control and will adjust the stiffness of the ride so they are different.

    • @poddyea2k9
      @poddyea2k9 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Golf GTI manual in the UK. Mine doesn’t have DCC so I thought drive would be the most likely alternative
