Differential drop on a GX470

installing Ironman4x4 Diff Drop onto the GX470. The reason you want to do a diff drop is to improve your CV angle. When you lift your vehicle the CV's will have a bad angle and driving it like that will cause the boots to break, or possibly the CV's could break.

Great video. Just one question, how did you install the front skid plate covering the oil filter after an inch differential drop? Did you also use a space to install the front skid plate? Appreciate your input.

+troysam santos they give you an inch spacers for the bolts holding the skid plate. So the spacers go first then the skid plate

Do we have to do a rear diff drop too if lifted?

+Ken no only on the front because it’s IFS the rear is straight axle so the lift don’t affect it. Check the other video Differential drop kit is it worth it?

Are you at 3 inch or 3.5 lift

+4B vEnOm it’s 3.5” the extended travel struts add .5” of lift. I got before and after measurements and it was a bit more that 3.5” difference but once you start driving the suspension should settle down a bit

Take it off road it help the front settle down. I put that .5 spacer to level out my rear cause my front just gotten really low after hitting alot of obstacles
