In the south do you eat those just as cooked apples? Sounds like a strange question i know, but in the north we cook those like that as a topper. We put them over biscuits, pancake, cook them with onion, put them over cinamon french toast bake and bread pudding. Many families from our family church have moved up from Arkansas, Tennessee, the Carolina's, Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia. Some make big pans of these for fellowship dinners.
