I really wish there were more flounder around too. I could've taken the time to keep working that little ledge for them but probably wouldn't have caught nearly as many fish overall. Still a fun day!
Hope you get on them man! I love that little bayou. When the tide is lower I've had luck further up in the creek, I think the bass come down at high tide then go back up at low tide
I’m heading up to Palmer AK area this summer around July. Will the salmon be running in willow? Also do u have any good streams for graylings and rainbows? This is my first time in Alaska and I want to catch the different species.
I may have missed it so i'm sorry but I live in pensacola and i'm about to get a kayak. Is it worth going north of the the bayview launch If I launch from graffiti? Also, have you fished the smith fish camp area or simpson river over by pace from kayak? Thank you!!
@phillipa7595 Going north from Graffitti up Bayou Texar can be hit or miss. I've seen lots of reds and trout up there, but the constant boat traffic makes them pretty unwilling to bite in my experience. I've only caught a few up in there. You may have better luck if you go with live shrimp at high tide though. I haven't messed around in there all that much honestly. I've only ever thrown paddletail lures in there. I'd personally recommend waiting for a calm day and going out to 3 Mile Bridge from that launch and dropping bait around the pilings. That'll be way more productive. I've fished from Smiths alot too. I like that side wayyyy better than the side closer to Pace. I recommend live shrimp in there, they work far better than artificial lures. Live shrimp on a little splitshot rig, 10 or 15lb floro leader, and throw the shrimp around the grasslines on the edges of the river. Tons of reds, trout, largemouth, hybrid bass, and sheepshead hang out in there.
@@ckwoutdoors “No dice on that one” “I feel like I’m getting it in front of a quite of few fish, but they’re not striking it“ “I’m going to pull the split shot off to see if that does us any better” “If it doesn’t get hit within, like, 30 seconds, I’ll bring it back in and recast it” Just a few quotes from yourself. So yes, not EVERY CAST. Solid click bait though! I stopped watching at the 19min mark, but I’m sure there are many more other quotes as well as many casts without fish. 😂😂😂
Sick video man! That little bayou has ALL the fish. 🤣
Right! This is the one I wanna show you.. I've never gotten skunked there. Always something biting it seems.
What a session. Great catching fish one after another. Too bad there wasn’t more flounder.

I'll be there in the morning.
I'm hoping for half as much luck.
Good video, bro.

@Josh4wlr considering you remebered all those quotes, you kind of sound more like my biggest fan than a hater ❤️. Thanks for your support 😉
