    Beautiful boat, made light work of the chop. It’s just over 3 times the length of my speedboat, and about 12 times the horsepower, I’d have struggled with some of those waves but I’d try Dover-Calais in perfect conditions. I managed to reach Fiskardo from Nidri (Greek islands) but then the afternoon wind came up and it got a bit too choppy so had to find a mooring and a cheap hotel room and come back early next morning!

      @MotorBoatYachting  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We clocked 5.8 litres per mile at 21 knots. Based on a 118-mile crossing from Jersey to Poole and £1.10 per litre, that's about £750 - call it £700 if you do a bit of displacement cruising and fill up in Jersey...

    Not fond of the step up idea... it looks like a tripping hazard to me - and I don't see any functional reason for it. If it is for head room below then maybe a ramp up instead? Step ups in the main walkway are just a bad idea on any boat, but especially coming from the galley to the dining area since it is likely (according to Murphy) that you will have scalding hot food in your hand when (not if) you trip.

    Cummings engines on Italian boats you don’t hear that very often

    • @PowerYacht
      @PowerYacht 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually Italian do like American engines a lot. So Cats and Cummins are faily common with the exception of Absolute and Cranchi who are full of Volvo engines. What it is hard is to find Cummins in an English boat.

    • @eddu4361
      @eddu4361 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PowerYacht Well I don’t know what channels you’re watching but the channels I watch where the brands like Azimuth etc are regulars it is about all MAN. Which not really a surprise if you can go the financial extra mile for a fully spect 72 foot azimut flybridge boat the extra 100-150 k euro for a set of mans probably doesn’t brake the bank for that owner and he/she will get more quality

    Great video as usual!! I have a fuel consumption question.
    You say 18 litres per hour per engine, total 36litres per hour at let’s say 25mph (maybe more) that works out at a little over 3mpg? That seems extremely good for this boat or have I got my maths wrong?

      All our consumption figures are based on both engines
      The 18lph figure is for 8 knots (just over 9 mph), so its more like 1.12mpg
      At 21 knots (24.1 mph) we were burning 120lph, so 1.09mpg

      As an Italian I agree. Too much fibreglass everywhere inside. I'm sure it keeps costs, weight and maintenance down but anything Italian is notorious for appearances over real quality. Good Lord that architecture surrounding the Jersey marina. We need a standards authority which puts the brakes on building bulk ratboxes in nice locations for weekenders. No ubiquitous international bolshevik style allowed. It wasn't impossible in the past to make things that looked good, were functional and represented the historical tenor of the place that they were placed in, therefore it shouldn't be now. This would not only please the eye, but i'm sure, bring far more long term value to the structures that are built, not only for the those viewing the built landscape around them, but for those whom have invested in these places too. It would engender pride in place, rather than just baseline utility. Of course we can't have that anymore now can we. No, no.

    80 Litre per engine per hour, £200 per hour. Makes flying helicopters feel cheap.

      Sailing yacht, even a fifty footer if you're experienced, or even smaller.
      Motor yacht, depends on range. 70 foot but some smaller boats can do it and many larger boats can't. Displacement hull VS planing

      We recorded 110 litres per hour at 20 knots, so that's about 0.95mpg
