Agreed. The biggest problem in unite is the fashion tickets. I mean why even play your glaceon if your avatar isn’t dripping with swag

I thought eventually older items could be bought with those unused tickets, but I should've known not to expect too much from Unite lol.

I think some of these sure-hit moves should work the reverse of Mew's boosted attack: get weaker the more they travel. It's so frustating that Glaceon gets to do so much damage and be at 0 risk for it
And you don't even have to aim with it, unlike Decidueye

Every game has metas where the "easy" character gets accidentally (or intentionally) overtuned. But Unite is the only game where that overtuned character quite literally has to press 1 button for 1 frame that the person is on screen to deliver as much damage automatically as some of the most precise characters in the game. *Multiple times* this mon has been buffed to be able to do this. It's kind of insane.
and yet i don't see many TH-camrs being harsh and vocal about it... just bcuz unite characters are cute mons?

Those tickets point is so true... feels like no one talks about it. They could just make Eevees evolve at 5 or make them weaker, for Tyranitar it could evolve and get its second move at 8 or 7.
I'd be fine with a lvl 7 evolution TTAR. Make it a lot more fun

They should just reduce all eeveelutions stats after level 8. It's fine having really strong early game Pokemon, but it's not fair if that Pokémon keep being OP untill the end of the match.
What I think they should do is with the exception of a few things, they should roll over some fashion items to be available to purchase with these tickets. They’re constantly updating with new clothing and holo wear anyway. Why not give us easier access to the old stuff. It doesn’t even have to be all the time. Make it rotate so it always different. Like how they rotate discounts on certain licenses. And as for the exception the really nice stuff like the fully animated holo wear and the outfits that pair with it can remain as they are so Unite can still have the excuse of them wanting people to spend money.

Shedinja doll and feint Cinderace. It's hilarious to play against Glaceon. Reduces quite a bit of the damage taken from it.

Icicle spear just needs to be cut off at a certain range,it shouldn't follow you all the way to your second tower when Glaceon is retreating to its first.

the thing for me is.. we can have strong mons but pls give ample restrictions-limitations-consequences for their abilities so ppl actually can use patience and strategy to some extent. nerfs and buffs dont only have to come from dmg output numbers and cooldowns. theres alot of unique ways to do this
the other side to this is.. when they do put limits, the community immediately reverts to “this move is so bad”/ “bad release”.. “needs buffs”..”i cant OHKO anything” 😅😅
Also meowscrada getting to be invisible just when it's about to die, it's so annoying during team fights. Being invisible has to be the most stupid passive for any pokemon in this game.
atleast you dont oneshot someone braindead with a single move and it requires you to actually outplay your opponent with meowscarada to dominate a game

pokemon that are not easy to play plus bad players would be the combination that ruins most of the games... it also happens that most skill intensive pokemon in unite are the speedsters, whenever i see speedsters in my games, i worry a lot... it is rare to get good speedster players in my games.
I used to main talon and still am pretty good at it but I can say from experience people dont understand speedsters even in high masters and they go in rushing against the enemy and not rush the squishy like bro come on I am at 1644 now and this stupid zoro tried to fight a damn goodra instead of decidueye chilling in the back
it's actually painful to get those people as teammates, *_BUT!_* Rewarding their lack of skill with easy-win pokemon is not the answer. Obviously the devs don't want to consider the necessary solution (forcing those players to stick to standard until they get better + actually educating them in-game) but on top of that they keep nerfing pokemon that high-skill players make better than they're "supposed" to be (like cramorant).
We need to get better at pressuring TiMi and the Pokemon Company.
Until that happens there will be no real fixes.

Speedsters are skill intensive? 😂😂 thinking about braindead spammy Absols, Talonflames, Leafeons and Zeraoras
Most speedsters don't require much skill
I feel like sylveon mystical fire is exactly how you should balance a surefire hit. It still has lots of unique utility and racks up damage but it's not backbreaking
Not to mention the short range and every subsequent fire ball on the same opponent deals less damage
In terms of all of the Eeveelutions in the game currently share a set of traits which makes them exceptionally meta-resistant (a.k.a. they are always viable) and safe low-risk picks:
- their moves have mid to low cooldowns, making their moves highly spammable and forgiving if you happen to misuse or mistime a move, which makes it so they require very low commitment into fights and they can simply overwhelm you with the sheer volley of burst they can spam with their moves available, making it so their aggression has very little if any down time and they can keep the offense restlessly
- their movesets have multiple mobility options, making them very nimble in-combat and out of combat, thus giving them a lot of safety in that they can scurry away and survive even the most dire situations and with the worst positioning imaginable
- their movesets consist of mostly generously ranged and wide aoe moves and point-n-click moves, requiring very little aiming skillshots or timing moves with delays or durations, again making them very forgiving and easy to use
- All of these accumulate to Eeveelutions being very safe picks that spike early into the game / they don't fall off lategame and stay consistently powerful through out the game / their movesets require low commitment with low-risk-high-reward moves and move combos / they are very incredibly efficient even with subpar skill
Don't forget the free full heal passive that forgives them for getting too close and lets them retreat (at least on three eevees that is).
They need to revert the last Glaceon buffs like 4 months ago or whenever they were. They need to revert the Ice Shard bug that they purposely brought back, again, and they need to undo the attack speed buffs. These nerfs would be a good step in the right direction.

ok but there were also actual exploits that made it legit broken and it stayed that way for a very long time. I take the point but no, Lucario wasn't ok.
It’s early game footsies with farm is something I noticed a lot back in the day you were damm near never outscoring bro
Power creep and nerfs left Lucario in its current state, which isn't bad but it's not what it used to be and not may players know how to use it. It was a completely different meta that Lucario used to dominate, and complaints were justified. Now, meta Pokémon don't require skill at all to dominate so it makes you think Lucario's case was an exaggeration but no.
Dude Lucario was absolutely broken back then E speed did so much dmg most Pokémon had 0 chance of stopping it from free stacking or farming kills. While it did take a bit of skill, Lucario is NOT one of the most skillful Pokémon to play and especially not back then.
this person was wrong about lucario and everyone actually replied in a polite informitive manner rather than just dunking on them. Bizzare.
Speedsters: I get close to my opponents and do a full combo, then their hp disappears
Eevees: *I press 2 buttons then the enemy ceases to exist.*
full Zoroark combo: spam two buttons alternately, Leafeon combo: hit by sunbeam, gengar combo: sleep and ball = one-time death, Eevees have little HP and protection except for Sylveon, but I would like to nerf the stored power of Espeon, from Glaceon it’s enough to hide in a bush

It can never compare with Mewtwo and EX Pokemon in general in terms of strength and effectiveness; Glaceon is too mobile to be on par with Mewtwo’s two teleports, or Zashian’s buffs using balls

Also it's very fun when you want to ambush a glaceon but her passive just negates your cc. Stop making excuses for glaceon, everyone agrees that the pokemon is way too strong for how little skill is required to play it. And how extremely unfun it is to go up against it. There's a reason why it is always used in competitive same as leafeon. Devs love the mon so much that is barely out of meta ever. Even the most braindead speedster requires more skill than icicle spear glaceon

Even though its not an eeveelution dragapult seens braindead to me like just one jungle and then it outdanages everything for the time and gets to farm my stupid teammates while just holding the button
dragapult is no threat if your teammates dont feed him early on. he cant pressure any kill if people dont run in like monkeys. without a good amount of stacks for phantomforce he lacks the damage for it to be as dangerous as glaceon or even more. but in general he is braindead aswell but atleast you dont straight up lose to it by default from the beginning of the match.

That's my main issue, they can run as far away as they want and they can still do all that damage. You can't sleep them, you can't stun them. Once that button has been pressed, you take ridiculous damage for no reason. It's kind of absurd.
i mean, maybe pikachu is a good example for a good pokemon with a simple gameplan
its good, no doubt, but not broken
easy to use, good to use, but it doesn't just hand you the win like mewtwo y did, because you're really frail and your gameplan might become predictable

I kinda like mage pika recently, squishy, and the AOE not busted like next-ex-pokemon for sure.
Glaceon has a really easy fix. Make the moves do more damage (bear with me) but they get weaker the farther away you are. Kind of the reverse of Mew's boosted. There, fixed.

Atleast it has something.. thik abt garchomp.. litrally everything was taken from him.. speed,hp,defence,damage, held items,lifesteal.. its has 4 star damage and 4 star endurance stat and still wont last 1v1 with Pikachu 😢
@@_fifty6as a garchomp main you are absolutely wrong it just requires a lot of skill to play and the stats you are crying about, all pokemons suffered nerfs its just like that nerfs are important for game balance the old lucario was stronger than mewtwo but it too recieved a lot of nerfs. I stll 1v4 or 1v5 with garchomp.I think you are a not good at garchomp
@@BurnAxe_gamer yeah i do agree with you about the skill requirements to play garchomp but when you face pokemon with sure hit attacks like glacion u can never hit that pokemon you will b slow and every attack of glacion will hit u.. if u think u can kill it with dragon rush combo with eject button noce u hit him but u wont b able to kill it unless your enemy is a newbie at glacion.. i used to go with full heal to remove the status effects and slows and i was good then they nerfed it..just like jake said glacion is a pokemon that requires low to no skill and its not like i cant 1v1 bcause i still carry my team with garchomp and for crying out loud there is a reason the stats are there ..before it was buddy barrier then focus band then muscle band it was balanced before the nerf ..the ability of garchomp is rough skin and its a useless ability unless someone hit u physically and yes i m crying bcause I am a garchomp main and any nerf to my main will hit me hard.. the Pokemon needs balancing and if the attack is high the defence should be low and and speed should b high but garchomp is slow and gets cc a lot it is a physical attacker so no long range attacks like glacion.. the dig should avoid any damage but talon can still do damage when he's underground.. i dont know if u have ever played anything other pokemon game than pokemon unite but it doesn't work like that.. garchomp has less defence, lifesteal, speed and attack speed .. and u cant hit something if u never reached that thing. He's an all-rounder and it should have enough defence attack and speed .. maybe you play with a team i dont and i know how hard it is solo with randoms.. at the end u r just a kid who has lot to learn..so..good luck
Also I didn't see you mention this but espeons stored power will slow you before the projectiles even hit you so it's really another staple example of timi making multiple people ask "why is it like this at all"
Not including the movement speed that espeon gets. Why of all things does that need a slow when you're already getting a speed buff?? That's like getting to land a sleep on a stunned enemy.
Man... the Jonathan Myers effect... how far you gotta run to get away... and you can't block for a teammate...
Don't forget about how insane the "sure hit" moves are, especially for Espeon

It's annoying in early game
It's crazy that speedsters are generally designed to take out attackers, but if you are Dodrio and the only attacker on the enemy team is Espeon . . . you are about to have a pretty bad day. At least Pika doesn't practically 1 shot the dirty bird, but he is still tough to deal with as Dodrio. The same goes for a lot of speedsters. Slows and stuns are their kryptonite.
And let me tell you about the number of times that Umbreon has mean looked me mid unite as Dodrio . . . wtf, I'm screaming across the enemy team, getting knock ups, sometimes it's on the return drill peck, causing tons of chaos, and suddenly, full stop . . . and I'm dead. Kinda over the eevee meta for real.
Think... a sure hit psychic move...
Well if the Zooroark and Outrage Dragonite is going to mini stun me to death, I might as well resort to poin-and-click sure hits to counter them
The real thing about Glaceon is that people seem to forget there was a period it actually wasn’t busted. Post Mew/Mime Era it had good nerfs where they didn’t cripple Icicle Spear, but it wasn’t as strong either. Then came the Eevee festival, and TiMi buffed Glaceon back to normal, they made Espeon a Ko’ing machine with Psyshock. I to this day still don’t get why AFTER THAT, TiMi faced the basic attack speed buff to Glaceon, when there’s already kits made for that. A lot of people complain about Umbreon (rightfully I suppose), but Glaceon shouldn’t be shredding my Goodra with over 1500 -2000 bonus HP+ Muddy Water. (And yes I do believe Goodra need some small nerfs too, but it says a lot when not even Goodra or Slowbro can handle it)
Mewtwo doesn’t need anymore nerfs it damn near feels like a Magikrap until it megas 😂😂
Even though those first two ticket situations arent the issue, I think they do need to add new stuff on there because those tickets are just stockpiling to not be used.
Gosh I can’t believe there are really mons in this game that don’t get their 2nd move until level 9 :(
I joined during the Eevee Festival and stuck with playing them, so the eevees are my baseline of how powerful/good pokemon are “supposed” to be in the game. There are so many mons when I was starting out, that my reaction to them was something like, “yeah no way am I waiting 3+ more levels to fully evolve than I’m used to?? Wtf?? I am barely even OK with waiting 1 more level to evolve . . .”
Which I mean I’m more flexible *now* but it just sounds like so many mons need a lot of help like what many starters have gotten recently. It’d be pretty nice if “the best speedster in the game” as I’ve sometimes heard Zoroark considered, did more damage than a sure hit attacker, too ‘|D
Throw ranged auto attack builds up there as well. Way too good for how easy they are to play.
Not only are they simple A press sure hit moves, but they also give you full mobility on top of that. The fact that Glaceon can just click Icicle Spear and then continue moving completely freely, avoiding potential counterattacks with ease while outputting crazy damage is what really pushes it over the top for me. Same with Mewtwo, same with Intellion liquidation, ECT. If I play a melee Pokemon I gotta stop every single time I attack. Every attack I make is a chance for the opponent to counter attack me or get a better position or kite away. But these simple sure-hit mons get to skate around the battlefield pumping out damage without any opportunity cost to their attacks. Mewtwo Y being one of the worst because even basic attacks are free.
I feel like there should be a movement penalty on such attacks at the very least. Or they just need to do way less damage, you get your silly mobility but you pay for it with damage output.

Easy fix for these kinds of things is make it more rewarding at closer range and make the drop off at range feel important. At long range you should get a bonus for free-aim snipes. Decidueye is literally the posterchild for this theory, with Spirit Shackle and his passive. Halve all damage outside of a certain range, and make crits only possible within auto attack range, and all glaceon’s bs feels less annoying because now glaceon has to get closer to maximize her damage potential, which may require her passive.
1.)The first two things you mentioned at first should be fixed by the developers. What's the point of having Holowear Tickets and Fashion Tickets gimmick when it is not updated.
2.)I don't like the Prize Machine gimmick. Only during big events with 10 daily balls it is useful. I prefer Energy Rewards more.
3.)For me, its not Glaceon Problem but rather Glaceon In The Matrix is when pokemon powerful in the early game and getting even more powerful late game with minimal expertise to begin with. This make people tend to use effortless and required less skill pokemon with massive output/high reward rather than high skill ceiling pokemon with the similar outcome. Why burden yourself playing with high difficulty pokemon when you have easier to use pokemon where it got the same level of power right? Thanks for bring this issue to the forefront Jake. They need to address this so they make the game more balance and every pokemon with different skill ceiling worth the play and worth the outcome.

Glaceon's Icicle Spear wouldn't be such a problem if the projectiles couldn't pass through walls. Walls are everywhere.

Spragels as a zoroark main i have some things to say:
Zoroark feint combination actually has a high movement speed, as well with the shadow claw it stuns.
So its not just the damage or zoroark.
well iceshard gives you movement speed aswell and it slows the enemy. so ur point is irrelevant. glaceon does the exact same with much much less effort and at range while having a cc+dmg immunity passive💀

Feels skewed to compare damage output of Zoroak and Glaceon, when Glaceon is ranged attack and therefore supposed to be high attack, and Zoroak is speedster so is supposed to be high mobility. Glaceon is supposed to do more damage. Zoroak has higher def and sp.def, making it slightly less squishy.
Additionally, you're comparing how hard it is to play these two Pokémon when one is labelled "intermediate" and one is labelled "expert". Of course glaceon is going to be easier.
I agree with some points though, and I definitely think glaceon should be labelled "novice" for all the sure-hit moves.
Icicle Spear is hard to stack up until you unlock ice shard at level 6, so you don't really become OP until level 6.
It is wild that icicle Spear can go so far, however the caveat is you have to be in range to lock on in the first place. Then, you can go as far as you like and the icicles still hit, (rip any Pokémon running away) but it isn't like you can lock on from any exceptional distance that other ranged attackers don't have.
I think it would have been better to highlight the glaceon problem by comparing it to other ranged attackers, like Pikachu or cinderace or cramorant. Otherwise it feels like comparing Espeon to Snorlax and saying "snorlax has more health, unfair to Espeon players"??

I think it's the same with Gardevoir. I've been in a lot of games where the Gardevoir just waits in the bushes and throw its abilities to the enemy team or to me and my team. It's a headache now that Gardevoir charges its unite faster.
Been seeing Gardevoir way too much lately, that's why i run Buzzwole

It’s interesting how the Eevees evolve at 4 and are all pretty powerful by 6, then you get Tyranitar sitting over here being absolutely useless until level 9, and (imo) being only slightly better than the eevees by ray. The power creep is real.

I completely agree. As far as damage dealers go, I think for the health of the game Glaceon, Liquidation, Pikachu, Auto attack focused move builds should never be allowed to be close to meta. It's nice for new players to have something easy but those characters should never get the same value as a Mew, or Zoro, or E-speed Lucario

One thing I noticed watching this video... Zoroark's mane doesn't swoosh. Goodra's antennae, Dragapult/Gyarados/Inteleon's tail, they all swoosh with physics, but Zoroark's running just looks static awkward.
I love the eevelutions but when it comes to having a healthy game these pokemon are pests when it comes to critical, damage and the frustration of catching a pokemon with mechanics and combos that are satisfactory and you get close to one of these eevelutions and are completely destroyed because the critical, damage and stun are so unbearable that if you try to do something the same situation It happens again and again and again and again, not that I want the Pokémon to be nerfed to the level that it's impossible to use, but that it's very frustrating

Leafeon is way more broken than glaceon- I get absolutely demolished everytime I play against one.
Mimikyu and Leafeon need to be nerfed.

Why mimi? It's fine rn what you want another char? One set requires good aiming and while play rough is prob overturned it doesnt do enough dmg fast enough and mimi usually dies in between cooldowns
Agreed. Glaceon is definitely strong, but these two are a lot stronger, harder to punish, and can snowball games a lot easier.

This has been my sentiment about the game for years! Low skill + high reward should not exist! Otherwise there's no incentive to play the riskier characters if the easier ones yield the same results like you said.
You pretty much just covered what I've been thinking. Having easy-to-use Pokemon isn't a bad thing, but they shouldn't warrant the same amount of damage (sometimes more) than those who are not. Low skill + low reward is how it should be. That doesn't mean they have to be awful, but they shouldn't be too safe of an option. The risk in playing these Pokemon should be that while they're easy to maneuver, they might not have as much AOE, CC, damage etc as their counterparts.

They can easily fix Glaceon by just making the ice shards not auto target but instead shoot out in one direction and then it's up to the player to strafe the shards into the target they want. In way it would be kind of better since you could technically hit more than one target. For an example of what I mean you can just look at Lucians ultimate from league of legends. Just a thought!

Completely agreed, glaceon needs a cc cancel action like they do with liquidation in inteleon. An unbleaqueble and uncanceleable attack in this game its so hard to counterback because we dont have so much defenders in the game or a pokemon who can stop this attacks. i always think snorlax shield can be reworked to stop this kind of attacks with a resistence bar (stoppin enemy bullets until this breaks)

This tracks all the way back to the release of Blastoise. He took over the game instantly by having the easiest guaranteed CC chain while doing boatloads of damage and being unkillable at a time where we had fewer reliable attackers
Totally agree on every point made here, esp those tickets for free to play gamers to get more enjoyment from the game. A skill issue problem will arise if the more skill based = stronger pokemon, but that would still contribute to the game's growth in the long run. It would be bringing the overall skill level of players that stay a notch higher, making them choose either to master pokemon based on what they can do well with vs just playing what wins in the current meta, even if they dont take the time to learn it properly 😅

Imagine when the next Eevee festival comes, the Eevee meta becomes a thing with the addition of Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon and to top everything Flareon becomes broken as hell becoming a mini Mewtwo X with powerful sets at level 4.
I think what developers thought is- there are many pokemon who are of low skill and high value type, both team have choice as both team can choose these type of pokemon, there will be some pokemons which will be extra good and there are enough that both teams can get benefit.

Sylveon with hypervoice is troll. Mystic fire draining kiss, with wise glasses, choice specs, and shell bell.
still take potion.
Your passive gives you extra tankyness already, so with this build, you outheal most assasin burst dps without ever having to use skill.
Arguably the most toxic trade pattern in the entire game.
engage with mystic fire and begin to auto at level 4. your damage spike is so big if you hit level 4 first you win lane by yourself.
if you are loosing the trade, use your third auto to run from danger. if you win, use the third auto to chase them and land a kill.
you never have to back with this build, you passively full heal off of camps, so once you are ahead, never not be farming. steal the entire game until even at base they can't kill you. if you get low and have ult. you can pop potion mid ult within invunerability. the snowball effect of this playstyle is insane. their only weakness is characters that can stay out of their range even with sylveon's dashes.

As a Espeon main i agree stored power is to strong I myself run my skill shot moves more often then my point and click unless im fighting a team that need mobility to fight psyshock is a strong move but only if you land the full thing which unless you are running straight at them or the have future sight on you should not be landing the full attack giving you time to punish them on there 7 second cooldown.

So in a nutshell, the problem isn’t that Glaceon is easy to use or peaks early, it’s that it can deal the same kind of damage as more complex mons like Zoroark or slower-to-peak ones like Tyranitar with way less effort, meaning the other mons don’t have the upside or great payoff they should.
Honestly, the Eevee Problem/Theory.
We got the Eevee levelling and,
Umbreon with its Mean Look (how is this still a thing) & Snarl, Sylveon's Mystical Fire/D Kiss is an Autoclicker with good output, Glaceon ugh and the whole thing with Espeon's moves & frustrating CC making it look like an attacker+supporter.
Almost forgot their free get out of problems passives too.
As a Bonus, Inteleon with well everything its been doing since release.
What about shadow sneak & play rough ???
I think the problem also comes down to the console and mobile gameplay. Console is more controllable then on mobile so having these Pokémon on mobile is such a relief however that also means it can be picked on the console so now the better players have a simple Pokémon that does damage
I started playing glaceon as my main when i first started during first anniversary. Was my 2nd main after sylveon but now i rarely play it since its so overtuned. Im stilled annoyed they went and buffed it since it was at a good point before the buffs. Still part of the problem since my mains are eevee but i decided that when i first played and all the eevees were mid at best
I think just making icicle shard have a range cut off would fix it a lot
