    Since Spragels didn’t mention it, the jungle buff timers run on a one minute cooldown. So if you take a buff at 9:42, it’ll respawn at 8:42. This is why you’ll see experienced junglers do the buffs first before the Baltoy. The sooner you put your buff spawns on cooldown the sooner they’ll respawn. That way, you’re not left waiting for the second rotation. While, yes, you can use the icon near the corner of your screen as a timer, it can become inaccurate when you take the enemy jungler’s buffs after winning the 1v1 since it refreshes the timer. But the basic logistics is that, ideally, you want to grab your buffs twice before the 8 minute center birds.

    • @ChodyRay
      @ChodyRay ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's pretty situational, but I usually like to continue clearing so I make sure I can get level 15 for the ray fight, but if we're kind of winning and they haven't broken any goals for us to farm, I for sure don't mind teammates taking jungle

    • @Saint_Roscoe
      @Saint_Roscoe ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my experience, team fights start taking place closer to mid-late game. I need all the levels I can get as the jungler before that happens. So I only get upset if raltsy boi from bottom lane marches up and steals just one of my buffs after the second spawn. I usually try to clear jungle 3-4 times before I move on and start assisting with scoring/team fights. Take all the jungle you want after that.

    As far as I can tell from both unite-db and my own testing on the training dummy, Escavalier’s red buff does not provide extra damage to attacks. According to unite-db the red buff has “Basic attacks slow enemies” at “30%” Scaling, and then notes “This slow lasts 2 seconds and the duration resets upon a new application of itself. This means you can keep an enemy slowed as long as you continue basic attacking them.”
    So taking down Escavalier first shouldn’t really quicken the Jungle (Central) clear time, whereas Accelgor’s blue buff providing 10% cooldown reduction should if ever so slightly.

I tend to prefer the former, as gatekeeping the enemy can be super helpful and really put them behind, but there are obvious benefits to helping a struggling lane. What're people's thoughts?

    • @JoelAe
      @JoelAe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no absolute answer to this. It will always depends on the current situation.
      For example, if I already spot the bad teammate (SoloQ) I would gain no value by helping that lane, As much we could defend/stall it but we wont be likely to push. You usually want to go to whereever you are more likely to sucessfully push. Then again, what happens if you have not spot the bad teammate, or the good teammate is the one that is unlucky strugling even if its not his fault.
      Worst is, when you call which lane you are going to help, your allies get overconfident that you are going there way. They end up over pushing and getting KO by an ambush before you even arrive.

    I think the biggest problem people have with the way they play is thinking that every match and every character is going to play and have the same timing and methods but every situation is totally different on a match to match basis

  • @yttrium_cl3
    @yttrium_cl3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sad that you got a Lutano game where his teammate messed up his clear. Lutano used to do a convoluted clear with Ralts that involved aggroing the Escavalier to charge closer to the Baltoy so that he could hit both with one Confusion and get out of the jungle slightly earlier.

  • @MiloThatch420

    As a 13 year league player, with similar jungle set up, let me share a thought to consider.
    Blue buff is great to help you clear. And red buff is great to help you gank.
    My path is first camp obviously. straight to blue buff.
    Then take the 2 smalls
    Then take red.
    This gives you the longest duration on your red buff now that you are moving onto the map to gank (attack the other side lanes)
    The blue buff gives you cooldown reduction for your jungle clear speed on your way to red buff so you get get to the map as soon as possible 😊
    TL:DR
    I go blue buff to red buff. This gives faster clear with the cooldowns from blue, and longer duration of redbuff while on the map. ❤

    • @MiloThatch420
      @MiloThatch420 ปีที่แล้ว

      How ever I would like to add. If you are timing your return to the jungle correctly. Your first buff runs out basically exactly when your first buff respawns and dies.
      So it shouldn’t matter if you don’t deviate from a perfect clear / speed run game.
      But we all know sometimes things happen and u end up staying on the map longer than you would like to.😅

    Good advice. I take Blue first almost exclusively because move CD allows me to wipe jungle Pokemon quicker. Timing is 100% important. Far more important to ensure you're grabbing mid Swablu/Altaria at 8:00 than those Baltoy.

    On the first rotation i try to keep an eye in the minimap to see where the enemies. The clean is basicly the same as yours, blue then red buff then baltoys, then if i dont see any lane struggling i wait a second to see where the enemy jungler is.
    If any of the lanes have vision of their jungler, i check their health bar, or if there was any KOs (ours or from the enemies), if i dont have any of that info, then i go to the lane that i guess is getting pushed back (normally they dont have vision of the wild pokes and are closer to the base.
    Its a bit difficult to check the minimap and their moves while you clean your farm, so if i can wait, before taking the decision on which lane to go, i go to the central area, to have access to the salack berries to run to the lanes faster

  • @BubbleSlaya16

    Both are really strong for different reasons I think. X feels more impactful because lane fights happen a lot and X is naturally tanky and can initiate while Y is really hard to jump on (which bringing Full Heal over Eject Button might be better if you're using teleport) and can secrue objectives much easier while being probably one of the safest ranged attackers. Obviously while mega'd, both do incredible dps and I really feel like both can fit any lane well.

  • @packmaster6249
    @packmaster6249 ปีที่แล้ว

    I clear jungle like you Spragels, and I find there is another advantage to that clear pattern. Sometimes junglers get held up in lanes for a few extra seconds and clearing the buffs first prevents situations where the buff hasn't spawned in time for center birds. When you move to birds for your team, your buff spawns and what else happens besides getting friendly invaded? xD
    You see this much more often for junglers with slow initial clear, like Kubfoo, who don't take both buffs first. I think its a solid mention.

    A thing i hate it's when a support goes in jungle while i help them on their zone. If it's a Gardenoir i could understand, or any dps that needs the experience. But if it's a healer or support, it just gets on my nerves. You are a support for a reason, do not leave your teammate's side, you ARE of help.

  • @asyde2146
    @asyde2146 ปีที่แล้ว

    I recommend if you're a "jungle main", learn to dominate lane on a different mon. Espeon dominates now along with tree, blastoise can dominate if played right and lucario is always lucario. Just have back ups in mind when someone else plays jungle and adjust your own playstyle for teammates making less than great decisions. Maybe rotate lanes with your jungle and cap a goal early if you see the other lane struggling. There's always solutions and you should be flexible in your map positioning. @spragels i would recommend a video on playing field advantages better. There's situations where your team is either up or down 1-2 goal zones and knowing how to protect your furthest goal better or when to abandon it.

    The best advice I think you could give someone is to gank the lane that have the higher MMR players, you can know that by the other of the player from left to right were the one that is at the Left have the highest MMR and the one at the right the lowest, except if you play with duos or trios them is kind they'll be first.

    I call it The C Rotation, I usually predetermine based on who's lane matchup is worse or better or if they're getting overun. So if top is worse off dealing with mamo snorlax I start with blue buff, bals and red buff.
    But an exception to this is i go 'N-ish' rotation if theres a jungle invade then clear those buffs first.

    I usually don't like to get jungle, but when I do my route is based in the type of attack my pkm.
    If is a Atk type I will go: Xatu>Top Baltoy>Red Buff>Bot Baltoy>Blue Buff.
    If is a SpAtk type I will go: Xatu>Bot Baltoy>Blue Buff>Top Baltoy>Red Buff.
    But if I see a Greedent or a Sableye with X Speed I will go from the Xatu to the priority buff then the 2nd buff.

    Hey Jake! I've been watching you consistently since you started making content (not saying I'm your number one fan or anything, but let me know if you ever do autographed headshots so I can frame one... lol!) but I actually stopped playing pokemon unite about a year and a half ago. I just picked it back up last week and have been playing like crazy, and back to basics videos like this are insanely helpful! If you ever need more ideas for content, me and others like me would love more videos like this!
    I remember a long time ago you made a video about what held items worked well on which pokemon. I know that's a much taller order now with an expanded roster and more items, but something like that would be amazing!
    Just some thoughts. As always, appreciate you, cowboy! Thanks always for the great content on this fun game.
