That was a lot of eevees! My friend wanted me to see all the eevees and these teams really did deliver on that front XD
So strange watching from a perspective that doesn’t know the competitive rules, and seeing that even winning 3 out of 5 games can still count as a loss just because of what “group” each match was a part of.
I'm new to pokemon unite and really interested to see the competitive scene because it's like a whole new game, thriving, and enjoyable. Can someone explain how this grand finale works? like what is a reset? does the team from losing point need to win 2 segment of the match to win and the winning team only need to win once?
so basically the way unite competitve works is that its a simple bracket, each matchup is best of 3. for more fairness what is used is called a "double elimination" bracket, where once you lose, instead of being knocked out completely you go to the "losers bracket" where you play everyone else who has lost once. once you lose in the losers bracket, you're out. so basically each team needs to lose twice to be completely knocked out.
what happened here is that alter ego won every single matchup until the grand finals, where the winner of the winner's bracket faces the winner of the losers bracket. due to the fact that AE haven't lost a single round yet, the losers bracket needs to win a best of 3 fight once (what happened here first), then they get to "reset" the bracket where the winner of that bo3 wins the whole tournament. if AE won the first best of three, since luminosity has already lost once and was in the losers bracket, AE would've have instantly won, knocking out luminosity.

Can someone explain to me how Luminosity wins the first 2 matches and then Alter Ego wins the next 2 matches and then its, "Alter Ego are the champions!"
Just a little confused by that.
Sidenote: Spragels was looking sharp in his coral pink suit and did a great job commentating the matches as well.
If im not mistaken its bcs AE never lost ? And luminosity is on loser bracket before

One of the teams that originally made it to top 8 got disqualified/dropped out

It’s because they won losers bracket, then winning both games against alter ego, meaning they qualify for finals against alter ego AGAIN and they ended up not winning and getting second place
@@lexderp2766 yeah lol i get that but they were originally knocked out of the tournament all together. just feels weird to me idk. it’s not super serious but like they got a 3rd chance that no other team got because they lost in losers bracket the prior weekend. i feel for whoever lost to them throughout the top 8 portion because they technically did not deserve to be there.
@@ayefrankiebarr i guess it meant they finished 9th and the were next in line to take a spot in the top 8 in case one of the other teams couldn't make it
Can anyone answer why Alter Ego is running 3 Exp Shares in the first game? How is that useful?
Exp shares main benefits no longer only work if you're the lowest level on the team, so they're great to run on multiple team members now.

I want you to do more Crustle play as it can be an op defender if used correctly. The move set are rock tomb and x-scissors with eject and your main goal is to trap opponents and the items are resonant guard, assault vest and an aoes cookie.
Eeveelutions are getting op and ofc people makes an exception cuz theyre cute looking characters😂
