  • Good heavens, does this trailer pop off! So inspiring, and tons of visuals we don't often see in Star Wars. This is honestly so cool! Let me know what other Star Wars trailers you'd like me to check out!

Now that you've opened this can of worms.. you have to react to ALL the SWTOR cinematics. They're all top notch stuff, what Star Wars should be.

What I really like about this trailer is the emotion. You can see from the beginning of the trailer, the brother in black is a bit better at fighting (pulling up brother in white after training) and throughout every scene you can see the brother in black does things better. Also every time, since the very beginning training scene when the dad walks away, the brother in white gets more and more upset with him every time. His injury (pain) then feeds his dark side even more. Allowing him to mercilessly kill his opponents. His hatred for his father then grows to the point where he fully lets it control him when he tries to kill his father. You can see he's "lost control" by his eyes turning red up until he realizes he's just killed his brother. The dark side allowed him to eventually overcome and beat his brother who was pretty much better than him at fighting up until that point. Only after that, his father acknowledges his efforts. Pretty sad and evil stuff!

Arcann is the brother in white, Thexan is the brother in black. One of my favorite details of this cinematic trailer is that Thexan is clearly the more skilled (he was the one building the first lightsaber as Arcann looked on and he never sustained any injuries), more mature, and less rebellious of the two brothers. But he's clearly shown to always be looking out for Arcann. He's looking at Arcann with concern in some way in EVERY SCENE they're in. That and the symbolism of their clasping forearms were one of the ways the direction showed their brotherly connection, that connection being severed from Thexan died (their arm clasp fell away). The tragedy of Thexan murdering the one person who cared about him most in a rage-fueled berserker madness was really what made the trailer for me. I'm a sucker for a good tragedy.

    That trailer is awesome!
I felt more emotions for the twins than for Rey and Kylo Ren (and the latter is my favorite character from the last trilogy).

Do you think the Old Republic storyline would fit a movie trilogy for example? Also great video again!

It's simple: takte the writers from the cinematics and make 90-120 minutes MOVIES! Every 3 Years and all would be great!

Unfortunately, all the writers that made fantastic and memorable stories for SWTOR no longer work for Bioware. After Disney took a fat dump on their stories with their brilliant idea to throw away beloved EU canon, most writers have abandoned writing Star Wars novels or making related media adaptions. And video games are a fraction of what they were in the 90's to early 2000's.
