- After a week of traveling from Goodland to Key West and back, we finally made it home. We were all disappointed that the weather did not allow us to make it to our original goal of reaching the Dry Tortugas National Park. We realized by the time we made it to Key West that the wind was just not going to lay down enough for us to make it safely. With small craft advisories throughout the week, we made due with containing our adventure to just the southern tip of Florida. Nevertheless, every day we went to a new place and explored seldom touched islands and sandbars, snorkeled beautiful waters, swam with rays and sharks, and discovered an abandoned house which once stood on islands that no longer exist. The Beach Donkey took the four of us comfortably and safely many miles for many days! We are grateful for the good friends we shared this adventure with, Mark and Rachel Hanna. This was one of the epic trips we have taken and won't be the last. We haven't given up on taking our C Dory to the Dry Tortugas. Clearly, the most ideal time would be during the early summer months, not during the Fall/Winter (this trip took place during the week of Thanksgiving 2022). We're happy to see you got to see the Dome Homes before they fell into the ocean during Hurricane Ian. We saw them a few years ago as well and it was a great experience. It was nice to meet you at the Florida Cavern State Park a few months ago. Happy adventuring to you all!
I was so sad to hear they fell during Ian. I imagine it would be a good place to snorkel or dive now tho. We just watched your Fort Clinch video. Loved it!! I didn’t realize you had another YT channel. I love kombucha. Gonna have to follow. We are going to Fort Clinch in the Fall and your video was super motivating! Thank you!

Thank you. The truck actually lost the transfer case and was fixed within a few days...good as new! Had nothing to do with pulling the Beach Donkey. My husband uses the truck for work and pulls a trailer every day. Just a crazy coincidence that it went on the way back from the trip.
