      Me too I knew about trypticon but didn’t know about metroplex now all i need is a hot spot and unslaugh to complete both cities

    • @Cavillier1970
      @Cavillier1970 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Now I'm wondering if Scattershot and Hungarr can connect to the cities in their 3rd modes. I know Scattershot can go from robot to space fighter to a cannon and Hungarr from monster to robot to what no one was sure but like Hot Spot & Motormaster into a repair bay I believe.

    Great series, looking forward to next year! Although I will say a personal opinion of mine, I actually liked the Unicron prototype, I don't know why I just liked the aesthetic on him, I thought it fit well with the toy style of the 80s Transformers, but then again, that's just me. We all have opinions.

    • @MichaelMercy
      @MichaelMercy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I remember back in 86 my dad brought trypticon home. not for my brother and I to play with but for my dad to play with. back then transformers were such a new toy idea that even adults collected them. my dad and his navy buddies were always trying to one up each other on which transformer they found at the toy stores. miss those days

  • @fett333
    @fett333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Loved the entire episode but especially when you had the camera angle looking up to showcase how big Metroplex and Tripticon were compared to regular transformers- my fondest memories of Christmas that year revolve around getting Trypticon that year - thanks again for the great year in review!

    I have thoroughly enjoyed the history of Transformers from 1984-1986. I first knew the original G1 Transformers through Generation 2, and I always resonated with them. I even relate to how Optimus Prime was a hero in your eyes. Even I could see his kind and gentle heart when I was watching him through Generation 2. Well done.

    That was wonderful Michael! What a cool trip. Only found out a couple of years ago that Trypticon was voiced by Brad Garrett who of course played Ray's brother Robert in Everybody Loves Raymond. Would love to see a MM special on the voice artists who also played a massive part in shaping our childhood. Especially for us 'Old Timers'. I met Paul Eiding (Perceptor) at a Comicon. Cool guy. He mentioned That he based Perceptor's voice on C3PO. Anyway, another great job Michael!

    Some of us actually still want to see that Unicron released, maybe as an Encore release. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. That's actually the Hasbro prototype, Takara was working on their own that was very similar, but it was smaller, had electronics, and was green! I've always theorized that the reason Unicron was never released was because he was supposed to be a massive planet, but Fort Max was already on the horizon and would have dwarfed him so they scrapped it. (BTW, I work for Seibertron.com so I hope Ryan doesn't mind me saying you're welcome!)
