Hello - thanks for posting this video. I'm pretty much sold on buying this, as I have also tried the Kemper, Tone Master, Helix, and Quad Cortex, but I guess I'm really hard to please, but this Fractal has awesome sounds, incredible amount of amps, and seems very easy to use. And a lot cheaper than what I had in the past. When I first saw the title of your vid I thought you were going to warn against buying it, so I was pleasantly surprised. Hope I end up liking as much as I think I will. Thanks again!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I have tried several of these type units as well, this is the first one I have been happy with. The amount of pro touring musicians using these says a lot. Enjoy your fractal!

Hello my brother! I just found your channel today. I bought a Fender Tone Master Pro from Sweetwater last week and then sent it back. I liked it but I was feeling a bit like I was wasting money. I play at our church most Sundays. Typical Popular Christian songs. I had a Quad Cortex for a year and finally sold it. It just did not do it for me. I currently am using a nice pedalboard setup with Keeley Compressor Plus, Keeley AT Super Mod, UA Dream 65, Keeley Halo, and a Chorus.... out to FOH. It is powered by a CIOX DC7. A really nice pedalboard and hard to beat the tones.
All that said, I have also had a Line 6 Pod Go before I got the QC. I did consider getting an HX Stomp and integrating it into my pedalboard and still might consider that. My big question is as a guy that really does not enjoy "menu diving"... is this: Can you enjoy using the FM3 Turbo without getting into the deep menus on the unit? Thanks for taking the time to read this and God bless you and all you love. --Brian.

Thanks for stopping by! I have tried several of those same modelers and like you I never was impressed (mostly with the comp and distortion) and didn’t keep them long. Less than a few months. If you spend some time on the channel you’ll see my tube amps aren’t going anywhere but I’ll tell you, this Fractal is pretty special and I haven’t done a show without it this past year. There are so many pro musicians using the Fractal and these units have gotten so good. Its easy to bring to a show, plug direct in and the tone you have at home is pretty close to what you have live. I am pretty picky and I am hard pressed to hear much difference from my amps. There are a ton of presets and I have tweaked a few to my taste. It’s much easier to edit on my Mac for sure but once you get it setup there is not much tweaking at church or a show. There are some that really like to tweak a lot live and if that’s you it will be a learning curve. I like to set it up and forget it. I have to much to think about leading worship or running a show, so I dial it in and I am good. About the only thing I might change is global settings and at a different venues is the high pass filter and maybe reverb but usually the sound guy will take care of that.

Have you tried using the fractal with a tube amp? I'm planning to get one but I don't want to let my tube amp go 😂

I have not, only through the house PA which has sounded great. A few reason for me to use the Fm3 is to make it easier load in and out. Don’t have to carry my heavy amps and a then pedal board. More consistent sound, once I set it I roll with what I have and it works and is very good. Don’t worry I am not getting rid of my tube amps either. 😊 I would still use them for a larger show maybe a outside gig where we could really crank it up. (Which is not many) I use the Fm3 as another tool and not to take the place of my amps. I’ll say this though it sounds so close to my amps someone would be hard pressed to hear the difference. I have only used the Fm3 sense I got it last year.

I hear ya! It’s was a pretty surprising move for me, to use a modeler live and not my tube amps. ( but they are not going anywhere 😀) The Fractal gets it done, light on my back, easy fast setup, consistent tone, good tone. Lots of pros not that many cons. Rock on!

As a metal Player, the amps in the quad are INSANE (I mean, it has fortin nameless with the update, wich is EVERY modern metal tone)
      BUT...
I fiddled around with someones quad, and its really flimsy and "fragile" feeling. Touchscreen is nice but using it feels like a glorified tablet. So for bedroom guitarists in a home studio, sure, but I went with the fractal cause it has everything the quad lacks for me.

Hello! I would like to ask you why did you buy the fm3 turbo if you had the “normal”. Is it worth it to upgrade?
    Thanks

Hi thanks for listening. The normal original FM3 really fit my needs and for what I do never ran into DSP issues. I had a chance to sell it at the time for all most as much as I paid for it due to lead times when the new models where coming out, so for a not much more I thought it was a good time to get the latest model.

Fractal is no joke. It isn't a toy like some other "modelers".
Fractal has something no other manufacturer/programmer has - Cliff Chase & Matt Piccone.
