Bro. Are you good?
Very blessed and doing well hope you are! Thanks for checking in!
Your headphone setup is what I am curious about before I buy this. I was hoping to use the rear outputs for extra headphone monitoring. Can you elaborate on what you used for sending the signal from the rear 10 outputs to your headphone amplifier? (cable type and UC settings). I have an ART 6 channel headphone amp. Thanks and subscribed!

Good points! On the autolevel feature - do you find the level set a little conservatively low, or are the levels more ideal, as good as you would set manually? Thanks.
Same problem I had work fine till I installed mixer software I was on the phone for 3 hours with Sweetwater tech I sent my unit back tech support told me the unit must be defective waiting on replacement. Lol how do you bypass mixer software and thanks in advance.
@@MichaelArmstrong-n3l I just did another video showing the steps using pipeline I believe I show it. See if that one helps you. It’s under settings in UC.
Awesome mate👍🖥 the first and only thing that stood out for me is the inner 2 legs. I would have stopped them from coming forward from the drawer cabinet. So when you're seated and moving from one rack (L) to the other (R), you wouldn't have to lift your feet over them. I haven't taken ascetics or structural integrity into account here. But your building skills are highly commendable. Top job🎸🥁🎸🎧🎙🎹🎛🎛👏👏👏
@@stephenprescott4441 Thanks! Yes those inner legs might could be eliminated. They are still set in from the leading edge so I haven’t found myself having to lift over them and I am 6’- 2”. A lot of the factory desk had the drawers all the way out to the edge and I definitely didn’t want them or the legs coming out that far for the reason you mention. A little hard to look in the drawers sometimes but I don’t put anything in there I need often. That’s where old charts, hard drives and session live.
@secondchancerising3025 thanks for your prompt reply. All the best, from down under (perth W/Aus)
I’ve been having trouble doing hardware inserts via pipeline. The only way I can get it to work is by bypassing the mixer software. Am I missing something?
Yes, that’s the only way it’ll work. Took me a half a day to figure out that one click. lol cause I didn’t see anything about that mentioned in the manual specific. I’m gonna do a video on it within the next couple weeks.
@@secondchancerising3025 wish we didn’t lose features by doing that. Would hate to return it but the features I lose makes me want to unfortunately. Losing monitor switching is kind of a drag. Also loop back routing.
@@MasterTheSound1 You can actually do monitor switching between two sets which I do. I actually removed my central station and save some rack space. Maybe I will do a video on that as well. It’s fairly easy to setup. I am not in the studio now but you tap the main encoder to switch between and set up monitor switching in UC and select your outputs.
@@MasterTheSound1 You can do loop back routing as well but I haven’t done that yet. Stay tuned I wouldn’t return it yet it’s a pretty nice unit.
@@secondchancerising3025 I will look again when I get home but the only way I could get it to work as by changing the actual outputs on the master fader of studio one thank you for your response though I know it’s a new interface and they always have their ups and downs, but hopefully they will take user consideration some other interfaces you can choose per output how the signal comes out they have like a through mode which is turning off the mixer, but not lose any functionality

Out of all the desk builds on YT that I've seen, this is the closest design to what I want in a desk. This is an outstanding desk in design and quality of work . I need to make a few changes to fit it where I need it but the center section width can be shorter for my Presonus 16.0.2. Drawers build into the lower sections are perfect. Great job! God bless your ministry.
@@TheGospelGuitarist Awesome! Thanks for the comment. This is the great thing about this design is you can make your own adjustments pretty easy. Let us know how it works out for you!
do you use fracpad for it?
How do you turn the volume up and down all the time? Do you reach to your Quantum HD 8 on the rack to the left or do you use something else for this particular task? Love the new rack for the faderport 16
@@casade2831 When mixing I typically leave the HD8 set at a certain level maybe -12 ( I would have to look) while I am mixing the song I also leave the master fader at unity. While mixing my ears have got use to what the song should sound like. Obviously I also keep an eye on the level on the master fader and typically mix to around -12 before mastering. I may do a video soon with a better explanation how I calibrate. If you want to turn a song up or down in your daw while listening you can use the fader on the Faderport or the HD8.
I think I am misunderstanding your question [and I'm not the best person to answer] but personally i use a faderport classic [the old silver single fader one] as a master fader and the fp16 for channels etc sounds stupid but it seems to work apologies if you meant something else
@@markjames1713 Thank you. That does work, but wouldn't you want to leave the master fader at certain level for level checking and monitor your volume externally? I see what you are doing and it does work too. Thank you
@@casade2831 in practise my method is probably not great lol its more incase my phone rings or something and i need to grab the main volume quickly lol
ive got an fp16 i was gonna get sunk into my new desk so this is also an interesting video lol maybe a stand is a better idea.....

I really liked this project, I just didn't really understand the measurement as I don't have much calculation with measurements in inches if you had it in centimeters but I'll see if I can do that.. thank you ..👍🏻
Glad you liked it. When you download the plans print them off. You can google an online measurement converter and write your sizes in. Hope that helps.
I was just listening to 2 Peter today and even he mentions that the apostle Paul wrote things that were difficult to understand. If those closest to Jesus had difficulty understanding some of the scriptures, then we also should be patient with the process to be able to understand those difficult verses. Well spoken video, brother.
Hello! I would like to ask you why did you buy the fm3 turbo if you had the “normal”. Is it worth it to upgrade? Thanks
Hi thanks for listening. The normal original FM3 really fit my needs and for what I do never ran into DSP issues. I had a chance to sell it at the time for all most as much as I paid for it due to lead times when the new models where coming out, so for a not much more I thought it was a good time to get the latest model.
Are you on the registry?
Which registry?
Honestly a QuadCortex never got me... I came back to Fractal.... Just look at Metallica they sound awsome live
I hear ya! It’s was a pretty surprising move for me, to use a modeler live and not my tube amps. ( but they are not going anywhere 😀) The Fractal gets it done, light on my back, easy fast setup, consistent tone, good tone. Lots of pros not that many cons. Rock on!
As a metal Player, the amps in the quad are INSANE (I mean, it has fortin nameless with the update, wich is EVERY modern metal tone) BUT... I fiddled around with someones quad, and its really flimsy and "fragile" feeling. Touchscreen is nice but using it feels like a glorified tablet. So for bedroom guitarists in a home studio, sure, but I went with the fractal cause it has everything the quad lacks for me.
No one gives a shit get a job
Beautiful work my brother You guys have nailed it.

Thanks for the kind words Ray! We are excited you are enjoying your WAVS!
Absolutely great product and value! Still enjoying them!
Have you tried using the fractal with a tube amp? I'm planning to get one but I don't want to let my tube amp go 😂
I have not, only through the house PA which has sounded great. A few reason for me to use the Fm3 is to make it easier load in and out. Don’t have to carry my heavy amps and a then pedal board. More consistent sound, once I set it I roll with what I have and it works and is very good. Don’t worry I am not getting rid of my tube amps either. 😊 I would still use them for a larger show maybe a outside gig where we could really crank it up. (Which is not many) I use the Fm3 as another tool and not to take the place of my amps. I’ll say this though it sounds so close to my amps someone would be hard pressed to hear the difference. I have only used the Fm3 sense I got it last year.
Excelente ....

Hello - thanks for posting this video. I'm pretty much sold on buying this, as I have also tried the Kemper, Tone Master, Helix, and Quad Cortex, but I guess I'm really hard to please, but this Fractal has awesome sounds, incredible amount of amps, and seems very easy to use. And a lot cheaper than what I had in the past. When I first saw the title of your vid I thought you were going to warn against buying it, so I was pleasantly surprised. Hope I end up liking as much as I think I will. Thanks again!

Just listening to this right now. I really like it and you describe my life. I was saved 43 years ago by the grace of God Almighty. I am still needing Him. I am a trophy of His Grace. God bless you and your ministry.
Thanks for stoping by and leaving a comment and blessing to you as well. Knowing Jesus sure makes life easier, I am not sure how people do it on their own.
Hello my brother! I just found your channel today. I bought a Fender Tone Master Pro from Sweetwater last week and then sent it back. I liked it but I was feeling a bit like I was wasting money. I play at our church most Sundays. Typical Popular Christian songs. I had a Quad Cortex for a year and finally sold it. It just did not do it for me. I currently am using a nice pedalboard setup with Keeley Compressor Plus, Keeley AT Super Mod, UA Dream 65, Keeley Halo, and a Chorus.... out to FOH. It is powered by a CIOX DC7. A really nice pedalboard and hard to beat the tones. All that said, I have also had a Line 6 Pod Go before I got the QC. I did consider getting an HX Stomp and integrating it into my pedalboard and still might consider that. My big question is as a guy that really does not enjoy "menu diving"... is this: Can you enjoy using the FM3 Turbo without getting into the deep menus on the unit? Thanks for taking the time to read this and God bless you and all you love. --Brian.
Thanks for stopping by! I have tried several of those same modelers and like you I never was impressed (mostly with the comp and distortion) and didn’t keep them long. Less than a few months. If you spend some time on the channel you’ll see my tube amps aren’t going anywhere but I’ll tell you, this Fractal is pretty special and I haven’t done a show without it this past year. There are so many pro musicians using the Fractal and these units have gotten so good. Its easy to bring to a show, plug direct in and the tone you have at home is pretty close to what you have live. I am pretty picky and I am hard pressed to hear much difference from my amps. There are a ton of presets and I have tweaked a few to my taste. It’s much easier to edit on my Mac for sure but once you get it setup there is not much tweaking at church or a show. There are some that really like to tweak a lot live and if that’s you it will be a learning curve. I like to set it up and forget it. I have to much to think about leading worship or running a show, so I dial it in and I am good. About the only thing I might change is global settings and at a different venues is the high pass filter and maybe reverb but usually the sound guy will take care of that.
3/4" 4ft x 8ft purebond birch plywood is $83 per panel here in my area. The Purebond Red Oak Plywood 3/4" 4ft x 8ft is $89 per panel; How many panels would you reckon I needed? I see you mentioned 4 pcs of 3/4 x 8" x 8' and 3/4 x 10" x 8' but those measurements confuse me since they are only for the outer red oak layers, for the entire setup how many 4ft x 8ft panels would you say is needed?
I used 3 PCs of 3/4 x 4 x 8 birch plywood. The 3/4 x 8” x 8’ and the 10” wide PCs are solid oak not ply. The 10” wide pc is cut in half and used for both the upper outer sides. The 8” wide PCs are used on the legs at the bottom inside and out. I also used the 8” and rip to size for the leading edge accent. Hope that helps. Lay it all out measure twice and take your time. Let’s us know how it turns out.
what type of router bit was used to create the straight edge ? everything online seems to show me router bits for different types of cuts including curved edges
I wouldn’t know what to call it I bought a assortment pack for around $50.00 it basically just has about a 1/2 or 3/4 rounded edge. Your local store could probably help you choose one.
when you say you used 3 1/4 birch plywood, do you mean you bought 3 total boards that are 1/4 ? or the birch plywood is 3 1/4 ?
Actually 3/4 thickness-

Yeah, MDF would be straight Manufacture Sheets where Ply can have some imperfections on the sheet depending on how many Ply's you go with. The Oak Accents look nice against the Black but also you could have gone another route and used ALL Melamine ...comes in lots of colors & Wood like Grain) & Just "Edge Band" it ( the raw edges..Iron on & Trim w/ Razor) plus Screw form Inside is the correct way, also they make these "Insert Nuts" which you drill not through but counter sink and they will be you anchor for a machine screw/bolt. Great Job!!! :) George
