@@avislcuriel Well, you're welcome. I said it because I find retired celebrities passing the torch to the recent celebrities very moving. It's just like with Charles Martinet who voiced Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi; he has recently retired after doing the voice work for the plumber for about 25 years, and a replacement for Martinet was revealed last fall. Kevin is now the voice of Mario, Luigi, and Wario, and I have to say; he's doing a great job so far😁
In Butters' defense, he DID give Stan new info in the last episode you reacted to. He knew he wouldn't be interested in personally helping him, so he instead did some research and shared his newfound knowledge with him, which is the reason Stan eventually succeeded!
It's called Dances with Smurfs in South Park because Avatar is just Dances with Wolves in space. Edit: Dances with Wolves is a movie about a white soldier in the 1860's falling in love with a Native American woman belonging to a tribe. Avatar is Dances with Wolves in space.
I always saw it more as Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, I mean fuck it even had the TREE OF LIFE that the whole tribe lived inside of that gets cut down by the bad guys.
DTV has the best laugh 😂😂😂 Your laugh at Cartman dressed as Wendy was the best and I loved when you said “Butters and I are beefin!” 😂😂😂 Btw- I felt for Wendy in this episode. She handled herself well against Cartman
It really shines through that Matt and Trey really didn’t like “Avatar” bc of how similar it was to “Dances with Wolves”. Those underlying jabs is what makes this show sth special 😂.
Funniest thing is that they hadn't even actually watched the movie when they made this episode, they had just been told "It's basically dances with wolves with blue people".
One thing I don't know if you missed or not is the reference title "Dances with Smurfs". IIRC, Back in the late 80s there was a film with Kevin Costner called "Dances with Wolves" where he is a Caucasian pioneer man who is sent to live among the native tribe and then he falls in love with an indigenous woman and the same thing happens where the pioneer people raid their land for precious metals. I only ever saw it once as a kid so I could be wrong about the premise. All i remember was being absolutely bored out of my mind, but it sounds an awful lot like James Cameron's Avatar don't you think? So that was the ironic bit of them saying "you can't just take someone's story and change it a little bit to call it your own". Also, Cartman was acting as conservative mouthpieces Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh types from when this originally came out.
Casey Miller is based off Casey Kasem, a popular radio show host and voice actor from around the 70's to 90's. He was also, surprisingly, the original voice actor for Shaggy in Scooby Doo
@AzureWolf168 Speaking of banning things, conservatives loves doing that too, especially books they dont like. Cancel culture is very much part of the religious right.
@AzureWolf168 Are you just going to ignore the Right's insanity? The Right likes to ban shit that they don't like too (where have guns been completely banned? Gun control isn't the same as banning them).
14:52 I just gotta say, I love the continuity you're having with Butters right now. I saw that video, I saw you getting all hyped for Butters, and then he really let you down, and it was so fucking funny. Hell yeah.
Yo can we take a moment to talk about how Cartman shot, produced, and directed that entire short film? With CGI smurfs and everything? Inside a day or two? That’s impressive!
6:12 What type of merry-go-round are we talking? Because here in Australia, a "merry-go-round" is what we call a carousel, but I've heard some Americans use it to refer to a roundabout (i.e. those spinning metal frame things that used to be on playgrounds), and I'm guessing the latter is what Cartman's referring to, but I could be wrong.
Yo! I don't read all the comments, but somebody probably beat me to it, Kasey was clearly Casey Casim, cartman was a play on a mix of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tucker carlson & Glen Beck/ Bill OReilly ,but just the outrageous, over the top parts of those guys. Like buh-en locc
The plot revolving around Eric’s smear campaign against Wendy reminds me of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, when the Ministry did a smear campaign against Harry and Dumbledore.
The joke isn't that Casey's voice is annoying, it's that it's the ideal radio host voice. *Yet another joke that completely flies over your head. Add it to the collection.*
No the joke is literally a reference to Casey kasems who was the most popular radio talk show host in history and the original shaggy voice actor he did Casey kasems top 10 in the 80s and 90s
And Casey miller the “man kid” was a parody of kasey Kasem (if that’s how you spell it) a big radio host / comedian / the original voice of shaggy in scooby doo. Wayyyy back kin the 50s-70s I believe
He voiced Shaggy until the early 2000’s. If you watch “What’s New Scooby Doo” his name is in the opening credits as Shaggy. He voiced him from the beginning in 1969 to the 2000’s
Been waiting for this one since you started my boy, this episode feels like it doesn’t exist to me, like it’s a weird fever dream, every time I watch it is like the first time
I just watched your reaction to Whale Whores and got notified of this video while I was watching it. I got so excited when I read the title ngl. I love this episode so much. 😂❤
Casey Miller is awesome. I love the fact he sounds like casey Kasem. Dude had a great voice and was a voice actor for a lot of cartoons. Another commentor mentioned Scooby Doo, but he also voice acted Cliff Jumper the autobot in the original Transformers cartoon! Loved the way he talked. Also, I'd love to see a show with Alex Jones and Cartmen, two right wing presenters would be hilarious!
This is one of my favorite episodes. The way they parody Glenn Beck (big chalkboard guy back in the day) and other conspiracy hosts is brilliant. "...or does she? I'M ASKING QUESTIONS!"
😅 I remember the time when the episode aired. My mom and my brother went to the movies to see Avatar and at the same time, I was watching on TV Dances with Wolves. My brother and I interchanged information and basically we saw the same movie but in different settings, one was more sci-fi, and the other had a more realistic ending.
This episode was ripping on Avatar, the episode is named off a movie called Dances with Wolves which is essentially the same story as Avatar except it's Kevin Costner in the old west becoming part of a Native American Tribe (Avatar is also a direct ripoff of Ferngully: The Last Rainforest), the part where Cartman tells Wendy you can't just take my story and add a little bit and call it yours is how many people felt about how completely unoriginal Avatar was.

When are you going to do the Lice one?
You would find this so much more funnier if you knew who Casey Kasem was. Haha
Im proud of you
@@alexanderjackson8389 thanks homie 💪🏽
Casey Miller is a parody of the late Casey Kasem. On top of being a radio host, he was also the original voice actor for Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.
Casey Kasem gave Matthew Lillard his blessing to voice Shaggy after Casey retired. Rest in peace to the most iconic radio host in American history.
@Dj87887 Such an honor that Matthew Lillard was given an opportunity to voice one of the most iconic animated characters in the history of animation🥲

Actually there's a fanmade video of that whole event, it damn near accurate on how the show looks.

absolutely! he's not supposed to support everything, he's just a kid. and even in that situation he gave Stan a direction to follow. Butters rocks.
That's not the point, he made Disfunktional look stupid xD
Its a parody of Glen Beck, who was putting out tons of conspiracy theories about Obama on Fox News at the time of this episode.
The mold can fit into what Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones are also doing
Conspiracy or truths
Alex Jones is confirmed right on most crazy shit he says though. He is a lunatic but does solid research @@mayblank9186
