I am Curtis's grandson, and from personal experience he was possibly the sweetest people I've ever met. While I didn't get to see him all that much, every time I saw him my day instantly got better. R.I.P I miss you.
Rest In Peace Curtis I got to interview you many years ago when I was a kid in school in Putney for a project a very talented nice man who knew how to cook damn well American hero

Hi Curtis ! We had a home on canoe brook rd for over forty years ! we were there and grew along with you and your family ! and yes your favorite "PRISCILLA THE PIG" Im sure you remember Andrew , Alan, Norma and Staci ! And our dog Heidi . We since have aged since 1970 ! and we all have moved on ! we do make trips to see you during the summers ! And every so often in the Fall ! It did break our hearts to sell our home we had and leave ALL we grew up with ! But life changed along with us ! But what has also changed and got stronger was our love for the 40 years plus, we had as a family in Putney and knowing you ! Putney is and was a very special place ! Curtis, You have a little fun kid that still runs around in you ! Dont let him out ! Keep well Alan
After suffering through some of the worst barbequed chicken this past weekend,PLEASE tell me how to get to the Best.I live in West Spfld, Mass. so I'm not far from you in Putney. I'm a hot pepper grower,so if you like the heat I'll bring some.God Bless
Hey there Curtis, you haven,t aged a day in the last 40+ years, and great to see you. Used to eat at your place regularly way back then, and always fantastic. Best wishes from Dick McBroom, the banjo mangler from the Real Putney Dirt Band and Arwen Mountain Stringband. Live it up !
How I miss Curtis' BBQ. When I lived in Amherst, used to go to a drive-in; get some Curtis BBQ and eat all night long. I still dream about his loaded baked potatoes!!
i baught some land in putney for 17 thousand dollars about 30 years ago and i built a small house on it took me 20 years to build it and i had a ffire fire dpmnt wants me to pay 10 thousands dollars for that and i couldnt pay the taxes so the town sold it for 5 thousand dallars and i lost everything now i cant even get an appartment cuz i got no credit or referances :"(
Just head on up 91 North to exit 4, Putney, VT. Bang a left at the bottom on the exit ramp, head up the hill, it will be on your right before the Gas station. If you don't like his BBQ, you're probably the type who wins the lottery and then all you do is complain about the taxes you had to pay!

yeah that conversation between the two old folks was pretty much the cutest thing I seen this year so far lol
It is sadly not what it used to be. The only thing keeping this place going is his name.
i'm very happy for curtis' success. putney is very lucky to have him.
Just try driving through Putney and not stopping.
