a noob mistake ive made is to use black salt while cooking over heat. its really only effective when added while cool, like here! thanks for the recipe!
What happens when you heat it, does it taste terrible? I tried to use it like regular salt and it tasted pretty bad. I thought the Pakistanis were stepping in it with dirty feet before shipping it here. It is like smelly socks.
Babu You don't use it like regular salt. Just add a little to make dishes taste like egg. A little goes a long way, and if you add too much, well, it get's very stinky. ^^

I was missing a few ingredients so instead of using apple cider vinegar, I used some limeade I had in the fridge (#struggle) and instead of black salt I used some smoked sea salt I had. The sandwich was utterly fantastic! Can't wait to try the other two. Thanks for sharing your expertise :)

One little extra idea for the egg salad sandwich is to do it open face and first put a layer of olive tapenade and then the egg salad. And then top it with dill pickle slices, tomato and onion. It is over the top good! Thanks so much for these amazing recipes!
The tofu egg sandwich is absolutly AMAZINNNNNGGG. Letting it rests 30 mins in the fridge defenetly makes the difference. It actually tastes like eggs, love the recipe !!!!!
I've used the tofu egg replacer in Vegan 'Scotch eggs'. Put two spoonful's into some sandwich wrap (Clingfilm we in the UK call it) and twist to form a ball. Freeze until firm then place in some Vegan sausage meat and make a ball. leave twenty minutes for the 'egg' to come back to room temperature.coat in some vegan binding solution like egg replacer then roll in seasoned bread crumbs and deep fry until golden. YUMCIOUS!

Tofu egg salad is such a comfort food for me and tastes better than actual egg salad IMO. Go a little easy on the turmeric though because it can leave your egg salad feeling a bit heavier if you add too much

I was a kid who liked sprouts on my sandwiches but I'd like to see how many would eat it these days. For chicken salad I use soy curls yum! For folks who can't find medium tofu I keep in my pantry some shelf-stable Mori-Nu silken extra firm tofu. I get it from Amazon and it will work.
The vegan chicken salad and egg salads look so similar to the ones the health food store back home makes! They actually make vegan & non-vegan options but I prefer the vegan options. They were so good and I've been missing them, so I'm glad I found this video because I'm definately going to make these for myself and my husband to take to work. 😁💖
I love the vegan egg salads. They are easy to make also. They are cheap also. I got one at a deli and it was $4.45 with some toppings like lettuce, tomato, sprouts. You can probably make it at home for under a dollar.

I make egg salad with chopped overcooked pasta and puréed chickpeas. The chopped pasta looks and feels like little pieces off eggwhites, the chickpeas give the mouthfeel of cooked eggyolks. Add black salt and you get the best mock egg salad ever.
Hello Candice, love all your vegan recipes. This sandwich idea was right on time for me. Being a vegetarian, I always found it difficult to pack food for my kid given the fact what his friends would say when they look at his Indian food. Well coming to the point I tried the Sandwich 2 from this video in my own method. Used firm tofu instead of seitan and instead of vegan mayo used the home made yogurt and also didn't use mustard. Rest recipe remains the same and must say it turned out awesome and my family loves it. Lovely channel, have been referring to your channel for quite sometime now. Also tried out the sandwich from the Collab video with Nikki ( health nut nutrition).
