    I can't wait to try this....I have so many vegan recipes now all I can think about is what to cook next. My husband and I decided not to buy any more prepackaged or frozen vegan foods a couple of months ago so I started making everything from scratch I and I gave been having so much fun cooking so many variety of dishes. My husband told me you are doing such a great job everything you make taste so good. I thank the people coming up with these recipes you get to still enjoy the foods you grew up loving.

    I swear that the best way to make egg salad is to make it from scrambled tofu. Whenever I make scrambled tofu, I make egg salad out of the leftovers. I just add vegan mayo, a little mustard and chopped celery.

    Oh thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this! I've loved eggs my whole life, until a few years ago when my body decided it is now egg intolerant, which took me over a year to figure out why eggs make me so sick now because who's ever heard of egg intolerance? No one, that's who. Combined with me also being lactose intolerant I had no choice but to get into veganism, so you are a GODSEND for making this video for people like me who have to be mostly vegan for health reasons! 🥰❤❤❤

    Let's be real. Asian folk won't go vegan unless perfect egg recipes like this get made. You are dear to me.

    Great video, I'm going to try your recipe! I add black salt to my potato salad also, to give it a little bit of egg flavor. Do you like the tofu egg salad better than the chickpea based "egg" salad?

    • @Thevietvegan
      @Thevietvegan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the tofu one is more eggy, the chickpea one is more tuna-y :)

    Ooo cant wait to try this! So with the tofu do we need to cook it? Or do we eat as is straight from the package?

      Tofu is already cooked, it's just cold :)

    Seems sooo good! Have to try it out! I could not find the celery salt anywhere =/, is that really important? Can i substitute it with something else? Thanksss

    • @Thevietvegan
      @Thevietvegan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a very specific flavouring for egg salad, which I feel makes this taste like an actual egg salad and not a vegan one :) If you have a bulk food store, you should be able to find celery salt, but it is a super common spice! Worst case scenario, just use salt instead.

    This looks great! And I'm with you on the weird noise thing. Any suggestion on making a vegan miracle whip? I hate the taste of mayo, which the store bought vegan versions also emulate.

    • @michellehasty1038
      @michellehasty1038 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I grew up on Miracle Whip. I think the major difference is that it's sweeter than mayo. Also, more tangy. Have you compared the ingredient lists of Miracle Whip and, say, Hellmann's? Maybe that would help.

    • @jenniferp347
      @jenniferp347 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michellehasty1038 ooh good idea! Sweeter for sure, and that is easy to fix. Not sure how to make it tangier. I will have to check out your recipe and see if I can make something I like. Avocado is great and all, but goes bad so quickly so I don't really like it as a mayo sub. I made a mock tuna salad with chickpeas recently and used the vegan mayo I had on hand.
