Located in Port Macquarie, the owners upon moving from the UK engaged Kathryn Trentini of Trentini Design to undertake the interiors of this Federation-style home. A multi-stage project that continued to expand over a number of years, this home is a reflection of the homeowner and designer working together to push the boundaries of design and take risks with colour throughout.

Not for me. I find the dark painted ceilings oppressive and could not see myself spending any time in that red room. Sorry, but glad they like it.
I love seeing a house with more colour! It just feels so much more personal and fun. And when done right it can really make a unique, sophisticated and bold statement - like that wonderful red room. Would love a follow-up in the future when they finish more of the house ❤

I love all the colour and bold design choices, the kitchen is stunning! I did find the use of scale a bit off in areas and the mix of styles felt awkward to me. The idea of the red room is fabulous but there were too many objects/pieces that didn't jive for me. All that being said, it was still inspiring and if they love it, that's what matters.

You say daring! I love it but red room, are you sure they just didn't get lazy and not want to do edges and masking or change brushes or colour! Just do everything one colour. Brilliant.

Very daring. For me, it just doesn't make much sense and the layout is also a little odd. Why a couch in the kitchen? I can tell it's a work in progress. I just would not feel cosy in any of those spaces. Lots of colour, yes, but not harmonious. The kitchen feels very cold and dark, the red room makes me feel a little ill. But that's personal taste. Maybe it will make more sense when it's finished. Right now it feels like an odd patchwork wit missing parts.

Risks were taken but not very successfully. The styles are clashing. The layout is not fluent. The only room that is well designed is the red room (if we remove the beige chair). Red room is not for everyone’s taste but is the only room well executed.
