This house has got “Soul” to it.. I like all of the vintage pieces and choice of materials that have been used, they really do give off a unique vibe.

This is simply one of the best houses I’ve seen and gives me so much inspiration for our modern timber house that its not too modern in this cold and over-clean way.

Absolutely agree! Finally i got more inspiration how to create some vintage and rustic to our newly build, modern wooden passive house. I’m not so much into scandi and too modern…

I really respect the architect's vision with this home.
The partially rustic interior blended together with all the wood and stone elements repurposed in an exterior shell designed like a modern treehouse.
The large panelled glass walls bring in lots of natural light and gives the home a modern update.
The architect seems to have designed this home with an intention of feeling comfortable and inviting while still maintaining an airy flow.
This home gives me inspiration if I ever had enough money to design and build my own house.
Thank you, from Vancouver, BC, Canada

The exterior and interior have a cozy lived-in vibe that make it appealing especially for a beach house. So many people want the 'newness' of a home, but the worn in, scratched and imperfect finishes give the character of a relaxed house. Great tour - cheers!

Love the warmth of the home - it's not a hard surface, stringent minimalist palette - yet it is minimalist in nature - high quality/natural materials in a variety of tones/textures applied with a skilled hand that allows the art to shine and focuses the square footage where it's needed the most - in the common areas.

  • @Drawing-Life

Gorgeous, so cohesive in style and design throughout. That takes a certain touch, balancing all the elements and still it feels seamless. So beautiful. Particularly loved that it's beach house without the "beach house" !! Thanks Lucy this one was awesome.

I like these kinds of tours. Though it would be nice if what you say about the space is actually and addition to what we already see. For example, when you walked up the stairs while telling us about the tiles and the change to timber. That's nothing we can't already see. Instead, I think it would be nice if you talked more about that finishing of the timber, or more information about the tiles. 😉

It's currently for sale so floorplan with dimensions are on the agent's site. They don't have the overall sqm listed but the main rooms add up to around 180sqm not including bathrooms, hallways, etc.

    • @Huntingforgeorge

Ha, it’s quite a tall fence but semi visible, which was done to council standards.

Her brief was intentional, all senses to be harnessed. This home appears to be a real phenomological experience. I am curious, as every surface was tactile and executed in such a earthen manner, did the house smell amazing? I image the home to be permeated with the most amazing incense.

Lovely home, I appreciate the spaciousness and layering of materials. Only things I'd change is bigger windows, so there's a view of outside from each room. Also, the laundry facilities being so far from the bedrooms/bathrooms is odd.

I'd call that more of a home "cubical" than a home office. I'd love to see something larger, not executive, but "open eyed" creative: 15 or 20 square meters, big expansive windows, with a nice hifi and maybe even a hide-able whiteboard.

    • @Huntingforgeorge
      @Huntingforgeorge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Gotta love a big office but originally they hadn’t even planned for one! Covid changed things. They sacrificed a big grand bathroom to compromise
