Unbelievable how late or close to the ground and how smooth you are giving the positive collective pitch JUST before the butter smooth landings. And how calm your voice is while and after doing these beautiful autorotations. The change in the sound of the rotorblades after cutting throttle off is just magical. But I think I would get a heartattack each and every time. I will try this on the simulator for weeks! Thanks for the great video, Richard!
I use to be able to do autos when I had bigger heli's. Made it all the way to piroflip autos. Haven't done them in years because I fly small heli's now. Great video.
how do u do the overspeed and how do u set up idle for bailouts is it just a low heaqdspeed , i was trying to get fast startup on my castle esc and by the time the motor comes back on im in a heap on the floor but my align esc comes back on fast so u can practice easy, also i only got a 500 so is that harder cos of smaller size.cheers
Bailout depends on the ESC. HobbyWing is something like 40% output, Scorpion is 4 or 5%, and I can't remember how Castle did it. I'm pretty sure it can be done, although you might have to connect it up to the PC.
Yeah, the 500 will be harder, but as long as you always land into wind there will be enough lift to slow you down. It can defo do everything in the video.
@@rchelicopter thanks were i fly i can only land in one direction on a hill sorounded by bushes in the wrong wind direction proberbly explains a lot lol. i shall try to come down faster and get that flair.cheers
@@rchelicopter u do hav to conect to pc then there is a check box for auto enable and u can adjust spool up speed but it still takes ages to come back on , i am prob not doin it right i shall hav another go .
The motor is completely off in the idle position. The only reason I don't go all the way to Off is to retain the fast bailout in case of a mistake. No cheating here 👍

To overspeed you have to hammer that helicopter down, so you get a big flare.

Are you not suppose to turn the motor off and try and land . Are you not cheating here ? I’m confused as I turn the motor off and land autos .
